‘Starsky. Now all’s we need is a Hutch.

Chris Cuthbert, Rod Black, Gord Miller, Duane Forde, and Glen Suitor. I think I know which ones are the hamburgers, but which ones are the hot dogs?

(In case you missed it) Potential CFL game of the weak..Toronto at Saskatchewan. Canadian running back Mercer Timmis retires from the CFL: Canadian running back Mercer Timmis has had his pro football career cut short. Timmis is retiring from the CFL because of what is believed to be concussion-related issues. Argos re-add K Zack Medeiros to Practice Roster Closed Bomber practice today.. 👁🗨Great line from Gerry Moddejonge “It was Mike Reilly bobblehead night at Commonwealth Stadium on Friday.” “Except there were no cute, little plastic likenesses of the former Edmonton Eskimos franchise quarterback involved. Just his own, life-sized head getting whipped around” https://edmontonsun.com/sports/football/cfl/edmonton-eskimos/rookie-linebacker-sets-tone-for-eskimos-with-opening-snap-sack-on-reilly#click=https://t.co/SYCD63azus

Reilly opts for a disguise.. but Mike, they know where you’ll be..
-
More likely Lloyd asked for his release after watching Reilly got whacked and sacked.

I don’t know. I’ve seen that look before. It’s fear. Not of human man, but rather, a phobia. He doesn’t like walls. He’s tried to overcome it, but to no avail. He’s tried jumping them and climbing them, but to no avail. Look at that stare. He’s transfixed...whenever he sees a wall. He even gets nervous around Wolitarsky. Other than that, what a find. Wouldn’t want anybody else at that position.

Ah, a challenge for the Bombers... "That's why we're going to a Brazilian Steak House this week." 🗣 QB Trevor Harris on rewarding the play of his o-line and not being sacked yet this season.

Branden Dozier. A good signing, although I’m not sure Mike Reilly’s body is relieved...

Ha! Good one. You’re right, it’s Bob..

The logic, mostly, is there for me also in these rankings. 1. Edmonton (2) 2. Hamilton (3) 3. Winnipeg (1) 4. Ottawa (5) 5. Calgary (6) 6. Montreal (8) 7. Saskatchewan (9) 8. BC (4) 9. Toronto (7) Week 3 upcoming games Edmonton at Winnipeg - probably the game of the week. Both Harris’s are hot. Trevor Harris hasn’t faced a front 7 like Wpg., (BC, Mont) so that’s a big question mark for him. The injury situation is worse for Edmonton as Wilson and Mat*thews will be back in the lineup for the Peg. Might come down to discipline and we’d have the advantage, along with home field. Winnipeg Montreal at Hamilton - Can’t see Montreal stopping Hamilton’s roll and Hamilton’s growing egos will be inflated. Hamilton BC at Calgary - BC’s given up 8 sacks in 2 games (7 in their last game). Calgary had 0 sacks in their 1st game. I can’t imagine BC’s gonna be 7sacked again but I do see Calgary looking at this more closely. Calgary underachieved last game, and BC took a chance on getting pregnant, ie no protection. Tell me, how sore is Reilly after only 2 games of getting hit like he has..Calgary Toronto at Saskatchewan - even though I can’t see Toronto playing as poorly as in the Hamilton game, I just can’t see them beating Saskatchewan who looked, at least, average. Saskatchewan (Although I wouldn’t be surprised...) Teams I’m not sold on yet - Ottawa(Davis) Hamilton (who they’ve played) Edmonton, (who they’ve played) Calgary, (defence) even Winnipeg (damn bye makes me jittery) Bottom 4 teams - BC and Sask - toss up. Montreal, then Toronto. A toss off.

👁🗨This Just sounds, well, unsound...and dumb, if you ask me.. Lions head coach DeVone Claybrooks defended his decision to keep Reilly in the game, saying he had the bigger picture in mind. “You have to look at it from the aspect of the whole season, and it’s about the makeup and the stand that you’re trying to establish on your team,” Claybrooks told TSN 1040 in Vancouver on Monday. “I’m preaching that the game’s not over until the last zero is on the clock and what kind of preaching would I be doing if I pulled my quarterback out when I’m telling my guys to fight until the final whistle?”

The in-show interview that TSN deems to be a special part of their coverage has, to me, always been a huge distraction. Can’t stand them. I wouldn’t mind so much if they hit the high points they’re trying to make, and then move forward, but no, they carry on like a run-on sentence. They’re fillers and have no purpose during a sports game. This year, they’ve also added helpings of stadium food offerings. Fine, show us what’s available, but don’t shove it down our throats. The gags are on us I guess.. Then again, who ever said TSN pushes quality over quantity.

THE NEW B.C. WAY? It started with ex-Eskimos general manager Ed Hervey outright refusing to shake hands with Kenny Stafford, post-game, during the pre-season. After Friday’s game, it was former Eskimos coverage linebacker Chris Edwards physically batting away the extended hand of quarterback Trevor Harris. Walking off the field shoulder to shoulder, TSN cameras showed Edwards appearing not to notice Harris’s gesture of sportsmanship. But there was no ignoring it when Harris made an effort to move slightly ahead of him, which caused an over-animated reaction from Edwards, who did his best impression of a defensive lineman’s rip move followed by some heated words until Eskimos defensive back Money Hunter stepped in to try and calm down his former teammate. It leaves us wondering if this is the new Lions Way of doing things? Edmonton Sun

CFL Week 2 Takeaways? Is it possible to take away the sight of that Hamilton dismantling of Toronto game?
-
That game itself was competitive, but, there was no other game to compare it to...🙂
-
If the game in Edmonton was a sack attack deBaCle, what kind of adjective would describe what happened in Toronto? An O-Line in disarray leading to 4 QB sacks and many more rushed throws. The league’s self proclaimed best running back, James Wilder jr. 6 carries 12 yards. James Franklin. Less and less talk about his being a bonafide starter. Tackling by the Argos? I’ve seen better tackling from fishermen. It wasn’t just one guy missing tackles, it was the whole touch football team. I’d say back to square one for the Argos, but could they find it without letting Hamilton score again? The only thing worse is if Drake would have been there. The Argos now have to play seven straight games against Western opponents. Yikes!

The CFL has announced the Game of the Week for week #2: By default, it’s the Saskatchewan at Ottawa game.. That is all.
-
They did...at opening kickoff...
-
How the heck can we have an objective evaluation of the Ti-Cats when they’re playing against a team as I’ll prepared as this?
-
Atrocious performance by the Argos. Disappointing game to watch. Did anybody prepare these guys?

Shout out to defensive tackle Cory ‘Poop’ Johnson, weak-side linebacker Ian Wild, and field-side halfback Kevin Fogg. All former Bombers last year.
