  1. Yeah, that’s the official, ‘have to cut down day’, but you can release anybody at any time, and with a few veterans going in for the Sask. game, that leaves less snaps for some who are competing. If you have 3 guys for one spot, and one doesn’t look good tonight, then what’s the point? I believe they have a grasp of who’s who, and now is the time for some final grades.
  2. Bob Irving stated he doubts if there will be any cuts after this game. I gotta believe, going into the final pre-season game, that some cuts have to be made so they can narrow their focus on who really have a chance. Unless some really shine tonight, the bubble players’ bubble will be burst.
  3. ........We already have the best uniforms in the entire league. Now we’re going to fill them, starting tonight, with the best players..
  4. You never know. Those walk through could get quite strenuous. 🤕 But really, bunch of new O-Line guys signed. Take a look see..👀
  5. Stanley Bryant is healthy. The #Bombers have just decided not to dress him, keeping him healthy another week and to give others a chance to earn valuable reps. #wfp Jeff Hamilton Sounds like a plan. Gotta see what you got..
  6. Coming soon: CFL.ca addition: add QB Kevin Glenn to AR Saskatchewan Roughriders.
  7. Invaluable. Preseason or not. These reps are so important for Streveler.
  8. Day 12 Recap “It’s definitely a great feeling with the field and the space I have and as fast as I am. The coaches have put me in space and given the opportunity with the ball to use my speed out here. That’s been fun.” - Lucky for us I'm getting a ton of reps in training camp, I feel great out here." - Matt Nichols “I’m looking forward to seeing what a lot of these guys can do,” said O’Shea. “As you’ve witnessed through camp, I think we’ve got some pretty good team speed on the offensive side of the ball and a lot of these guys are very exciting with the ball in their hands. We’ve got to give them as much opportunity as possible to showcase that.” - Mike O’Shea There is just one cut-down date in the CFL, with all teams needing to make those moves by 9 p.m. on June 8th. “Some of those decisions will just naturally occur because it’s football and pro sport and things happen. There are a lot of good players and you’d love to be able to keep them all.” - Mike O’Shea. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/30/notes-camp-day-12-recap/
  9. There’s the difference between a confident QB (Nichols) and a somewhat worried QB (Collaros) and where their heads are at..
  10. GONE... Long gone are the likes of Weston Dressler, Clarence Denmark, Julian Feoli-Gudino, L’Damian Washington, Matt Coates, Chris Givens, Kenbrell Thompkins and Ryan Lankford. Here now.. Replacing them are names like Chris Matthews, Nic Demski, Drew Wolitarsky, Kenny Lawler, Rasheed Bailey. 11. This is terrific news for us out-of-towners..🏈 The bonus? Syncing with Bob Irving. 🏈 😀
  12. Nope. There are stories there. Examples? BOMBSHELLS: Lawler, Bailey seem to be front-runners in intense battle for receiver spot with Bombers May 26 Bombers’ quarterback Bennett a ‘freak-of-nature’ athlete May 26 BOMBSHELLS: Matthews aims to have impact as mentor and community leader as well as a receiver with Bombers May 20 Call them the Winnipeg Mafia — nine hometown players looking to make big impact May 20
  13. Beg to differ. Wyman has had several articles on the Bombers camp. This listing of TC injuries kind of snuck up on fans, so I don’t mind him reminding us just how quickly the list can grow. Wyman, even Friesen, and especially Ed Tait have kept us informed. Thank goodness. This year, there seems to be a lack of fan participation/reports, so I’m happy for whatever I can get.
  14. Training camp...yech
  15. I’m expecting the Bombers to be on the receiving end of some of those accolades this year... Mathews, Adams, Lawler, Bailey, Wolitarsky, Demski...
  16. Also, as Dave Naylor explains it... There is a the provision allowing teams to replace any Canadian starter who suffers an in-game injury with a veteran American, defined in the new agreement as a player with at least four years in the CFL or three with his current team. Any rule tied to a player being injured is potentially problematic. But when that rule opens the door for a team to help itself through an injury, well, everyone knows what happens when you give coaches a way to gain an advantage. They’re going to use it. It’s not hard to see how any head coach might use this as a way to improve his team by having a weaker Canadian starter go down with an injury early in a game so he can be replaced by a veteran American. Here’s an extreme example to illustrate the point: Hamilton cornerback Delvin Breaux starts every game for the Tiger-Cats and is considered among the league’s very best defensive players. He has three years in the CFL, all with the Tiger-Cats. Let’s say that instead of starting Breaux at cornerback, the Tiger-Cats list him as a backup and start a Canadian at corner, maybe even someone who has never played the position in his life. On the first play of the game, that Canadian player goes down with an ankle injury and is replaced by Breaux, an NFL-level talent who instantly makes the Tiger-Cats a better team and requires Hamilton to play only six Canadians for the rest of the game. 17. Ed Hervey - Following Sunday’s 22-7 pre-season loss to his former team, the B.C. Lions GM was approached by Eskimos receiver Kenny Stafford, whom Hervey originally brought to Edmonton in a trade back in 2015. Stafford flashed a big smile and extended a hand of gratitude in the true spirit of Once an Eskimo, Always an Eskimo. Instead of warmth, however, Hervey pulled back, put both hands in front of his own face, turned his head away as if unwelcomely crossing paths with an ex and walked away without uttering a word. https://edmontonsun.com/sports/football/cfl/edmonton-eskimos/the-ex-eskimo-way-former-gm-ed-hervey-turns-handshake-into-cold-shoulder#click=https://t.co/wbbvprnuVb Can you imagine? Thank goodness we don’t have that Hervey putz.
  18. HDay 10 Recap Kylie Wilson - The 26-year-old Californian knows better now than to take anything for granted. “Camp’s being going good, just going to work every day, asking the right questions, staying in the book and every day taking it one day at a time and just keep grinding, keep pushing no matter what,” said Wilson after practice on Tuesday. Here’s Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea on Wilson: “You see it in practice. He gets shot out of a cannon pretty well on every play. It’s unbelievable. And then when he got to play at the end of last year he had some very physical plays, too, besides the speed plays. So, he’s going to fit in fine. The Bombers have four quarterbacks in camp in Nichols, Chris Streveler, Bryan Bennett and Sean McGuire. With Nichols and Streveler locked in at 1-2, the main drama unfolding at that spot on the depth chart will be whether McGuire can unseat Bennett. O’Shea offered this Wednesday when asked what he is looking for from the third-string pivot: “All three quarterbacks have to be able to step in and win us a game. You’re looking for a guy who on limited reps can come in and execute, because that’s the unfortunate fact – we’re just not going to give them the reps that they may need to feel that they’re going to be successful. “You need a guy with the mindset that says, ‘I can take the reps on the back end without the ball in my hand, I can take the reps in meetings, I can take the reps with the playbook, see it on film and when I get in I’m going to execute.” Manitoba Bisons product Geoff Gray continues to get work at the right guard spot with the Bombers No. 1 offence, even as the club moves pieces around and airlifts in new import OL. “He’s big, athletic… I think you could line him up at a bunch of different spots,” said O’Shea of Gray. “He doesn’t look like a typicall offensive lineman. We were talking the other day, he looks like a giant linebacker. That’s how fit he is. He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s athletic. It’s just a matter of him getting the reps. And us having a different centre, too, is interesting because that all plays into it. “He’s not going in with a vet on either side that has that comfort level. Right now with Jermarcus (Hardrick) not practising there’s a lot of communication that has to be done. He’s awesome. He’s pretty impressive.” https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/28/notes-camp-day-10-recap/
  19. Yeah, he was doing ok but you do realize the Stadium is pretty well walled off right? Would make anybody nervous..
  20. Just heard MOS explain that even though they have a couple of others who can long snap in camp, they are slightly knicked up. Therefore, in order to help Rempel out, and take a look at a newbie, they’re giving young Zach a look see.
  21. We have two of the quirkiest players, and best in the league, in Rempel and Medlock. This staff knows that. I believe it’s all part of the plan in signing this young fellow and that they have talked to him about it. Know your future. Respect your past.
