If you were to ask which 3 defensive players, going into Free Agency, were going to be highly sought after and the best available, you would probably name Willie Jefferson, Micah Johnson and Adam Bighill. We got 2 of them. Impressive.

He’s still afraid of that end zone...

I think LaPolice will only change his strategy if it is in his overall offensive game plan. Like last year. He set up the offensive game plan featuring ball control and didn’t stray from it. That was why, to me, we could have had a much better game against Calgary if only LaPo would have not played right into the Stamps thinking. We could have messed them up pretty good with a different strategy, but no, we stuck with same old, same old. And Calgary knew it. We had the weapons, and the mix (Streveler) And Wolitarsky etc. but we stayed the course. Too bad. It was a good chance we let slip away.

With each of those ‘offers’, they were seriously trying to upgrade. They had placed value on each of those players, and the value was high, even though, as stated by Walters , it wasn’t as high as the asking. My point was , we stopped there, where our line was drawn, and where it fit in our budget. We didn’t go up and over to get said player. Kind of like an auction where you want an item but are unwilling to overspend on that item because it would look nice to our neighbours. Sure, he swung for the fences, like each and every one of us wanted, but he stayed within his limits. That’s still responsible in my books.

Some sort of answers?

Still, for the Bombers..it is, and should be cost versus value. Big splashy signings are fun, but we don’t ‘need’ to do that. I still think we’re on target, and we have some cash to hit that target, either now, or in the near future.

WOW! I didn’t realize walkers were so expensive!

I’ve been excited in past years when we signed our share (and more) of free agents. - It didn’t work out. I’m more patient now. I’m dazzled by the Red Carpet treatment by a number of teams and even tempted to be a bit envious. BUT When I look at our roster, and see all the key re-signings that we’ve inked, and the couple of additions that we have made, I realize we didn’t need those more expensive options. We’re close. Question marks remain, but you really didn’t want all the fun in one day, did you?
