Gray’s appearance and that of Jeffcoat out practising is tempered by this:
-
-
👁🗨 Interesting News about Lawler. On October 15th he was released from the practice roster. Now, he has rejoined it. Things that make you go hmmm. 👁🗨 Seeing as the Riders had a certain amount of success on special teams with returns, I wonder how much work k/r Charles Nelson gets during practice this week? 👁🗨 Did you notice Andrew Luck of the Colts, threw 4 TD passes in a win over Buffalo on Sunday? Funny thing is..he only threw for a 156 yards total in that game. Hmmm

Both these last two statements are true. What bothers me is the fact Rider fans do not acknowledge, especially in the Banjo Bowl, that they were beaten..soundly, except for one of the worst plays I have ever witnessed by a QB.
-
Full credit to the Riders though, as much as it chokes me to say it. They went into Calgary’s building and owned the football game. They beat down the Stamps and never let them get into any kind of rhythm. It shows that if you have any kind of good game plan, and execute it, any team can be beaten. Saskatchewan executed it. BLM? Just initials in this game, and their vaunted defence couldn’t figure out a basic offensive game plan. By the end of the night, even Claybrook’s hat was straightened out.

27 for 50 That's not any quarterback completion percentage. That’s the number of posts for J5V in this thread. 😀

CFL Game #82 Notes & Trends - Calgary vs Saskatchewan: Both teams Off a Loss: This Calgary-Saskatchewan matchup will be the first time in over 6 years that BOTH clubs will be coming off a loss. That game was on August 25, 2012 and it is even more unusual that they rank #1-2 in the West in doing so. Season Series / 1st Place: Both are on the line in this game and a win is the Riders' only chance to keep their hopes alive for a bye into the Western Final. They split two meetings in Regina to tie the series and must win in Calgary by any margin. After a 10- game losing streak to Calgary they have won 2 of the last 3 meetings including a 30-7 victory at McMahon in their last visit. Shutout last week: The Riders failed to score at Winnipeg and were shut out for the first time since a 24-0 defeat to Edmonton on Jul 26/14. They were held to season-lows of 170 yards and 12 first downs last week and ran just 6 offensive plays in Winnipeg's end of the field. The 170 yards was their lowest Net Offence since Sep 12/15, also vs Winnipeg (169 yds). CFL Tackles Lead at 101: By way of season-long stats review conducted last week across all 69 games to date, a number of plays were changed to reflect totally accurate Tackle counts. Also, a Calgary request resulted in a change for Alex Singleton who received one additional stop from last week's game. Singleton and Adam Bighill therefore both enter this week with 101 tackles each. Offensive TDs - 22 vs 41 in 2017: The Riders are #8 with just 22 TD drives to Week #18 and have now gone their last 35 possessions without a Touchdown. After 15 games last year, Saskatchewan had 41 TDs on Offence. Micah Johnson - More every year: Comes into this game in the midst of 6-game stretch with 7 Sacks and has one in each of the last 3 games. He is up to #2 in the CFL with 11 which has extended his unique career feat. Johnson has increased his Sack total in every season of his career - 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 & 11, and is up to 38 in a total of 78 games. Bo Levi Mitchell: Needs to average 216.3 passing yards per game to reach 5,000 for the second time in his career. In 2018, he is #3 in yards per game 290.1 on pace for 5,221, 164 short of his career-best (5,385 in 2016). He needs to win this week to avoid having back-to-back losses for just the second time in his CFL career. Mitchell All-Time QB Win %: After last week's defeat, Bo Levi Mitchell's career winning % is now 68-13 .831 with a 12-3 .800 mark in 2018. Mitchell's all-time record as a starter at McMahon Stadium is now 38-5 .884 after the loss to BC No TDs or FG Attempts: The Riders did not have either a TD or even a field goal attempt last week. A first since 2014. Terry Williams: Leads the CFL in punt return average at 13.3 yards and in kick return TDs with 3.

CFL Game #81 Notes & Trends: Montreal Roster Turnover Since Week #1: The Alouettes lineup this week will bear little resemblance to their Season-Opener. Of the 24 players who started in Week #1, just 9 (38%) started their most recent game. Of the 15 players absent from the Week #1 starters list, 8 players have been either traded, released or inactive, 5 are on the IL and 2 are now substitutes. #1-#2 in Total Players: The Argos and Als have used by far the highest number of players this season. Montreal has dressed 80 different players and with Toronto at 78 in total they are only clubs with more than 70 through Week #18. Montreal has used 58 different players in their starting lineup and Toronto has had 51. The Argos have been eliminated from the post-season after a 3-year run and their 2017 Grey Cup victory. With that, Toronto joins 9 previous Grey Cup winners since 1958 to NOT make the playoffs in the next season. For Coach Trestman this is the longest losing streak of his CFL career. Henoc Muamba: Has had a solid season for the Als' defence and is 12 tackles short of his second career 100+ season. Chip Cox: Now ranks #4 all-time (across 1987-2018) with 964 career Defensive Tackles. He has 37 in his last 5 games. John Bowman: Needs one Sack to tie Stewart Hill for #7 all-time. He had one in Week #17 to make it 125 for his career. S.J. Green: Has gone over 9,000 receiving yards (9,006) and needs 31 to move up to #28 all-time and pass James Murphy (9,036). Glenn Love: Has a solid streak going with at least one ST Tackle in his last 7 games. He had 4 in Montreal's last game. Green & Edwards: Come in with reception streaks - Green is at 34 straight games and Edwards in all 36 of his CFL games. Toronto up by 10+: The Argos have led just once all season by as many as 10 points and that was back on Jul 7/18 vs Edmonton. Toronto at home: Toronto's 2018 home schedule concludes with this game. They are 3-5 at home and winless on the road. By 1 point: Three of Toronto's 7 home games thus far have been decided by one point. The Argos look to avoid an 8th straight defeat for the first time since 2009 - the last time they lost 7 in a row _____________________________________________________________________________________

The Eskimos and Bombers are tied at 1 game won each. They do not have the season series on us. The last game of the year is against the Eskimos. It could be a VERY big game or a game to rest some players if we beat Calgary. Win 1 and we’re in. Win 2 and we could be in second place. What a season..

Tales of the wild Wild West: As of Oct 19 *Calgary - 12-3 vs. Sask. at Wpg. at BC *Sask. - 10-6 @ Calgary vs BC Bye Wpg - 9-7. Bye. vs Calgary, at Edmonton *BC - 9-7. at Sask. vs Calgary Edm. - 8-9. Bye. vs Wpg * Playoff teams
-
Right. I’m just saying they can clinch tonight, their 9th win, while we didn’t clinch after our 9th win.
-
And in the background you can faintly hear Paul Simon’s song “Slip Sliding Away”...
-
That’s what I was thinking..

Lewis Ward - legit. Congratulations! That is special. What a neat feat with his parents witnessing a pro football record.

WEEK 19 CFL - Edmonton @ BC CFL Game #80 Notes & Trends: Edmonton 4 of last 5 vs BC: The Eskimos 4-game win streak over the Lions was snapped back in August (31-23). That enabled BC to retain a chance to capture the season series and the teams are at one win each going into this game. BC 5 of last 6 / Strong Q1's: The Lions come in having won 5 of their last 6 games and off of their first win in Calgary since 2014 - breaking a streak of 5 losses in a row at McMahon Stadium. In the 5 wins they have allowed ZERO 1st Quarter points; in the their one recent loss they were down 20-0 to Hamilton after 15:00 of play. Mike Reilly 5000+: Threw for 369 yards last week, his first 300-yard game after a run of 3 in a row at 276, 164 and 222 yards. He is just 26 yards from his third straight 5,000 yard season. The all-time leaders at 5K years in a row with only Doug Flutie and Anthony Calvillo ever gone more than two straight season with 5000+ passing yards. 13 Receptions: Bryant Mitchell made 13 catches last week on 17 throws his way by Mike Reilly. That was just 2 short of the Edmonton record of 15 and the most by any CFL player since S.J. Green had 13 on Oct 14/17. Sacks For & Against: The Lions have made 15 Sacks in the last 4 games and allowed only 5 themselves. That's a differential of +10 along the line of scrimmage and protecting Lulay and Jennings. 100-yard / 1000-yard rushers: Each club will feature a significant rushers from recent weeks. Tyrell Sutton had 106 in his Lions debut last week and made it two games in a row for BC since Jeremiah Johnson had 118 yards in BC's game before that. C.J. Gable had 87 yards last week in the win over Ottawa (64 yards in the 2nd half) and is within 60 of his first career 1K season. James Franklin & Mike Reilly 12 TDs: Mike Reilly is approaching the CFL record for Touchdowns by a QB alongside Toronto's James Franklin. They each have 12 and that ranks all-time as follows: tied for third, 2 behind the record. Bryan Burnham: Needs just 137 yards to reach 1,000 for the year but it has been a year of highs and lows. He has had 8 games where he has caught 3 passes or fewer including each of the last 3 games (2, 3 & 2: Total of 7 for 143 yards). Alex Bazzie: Had just 4 Sacks in the first 14 games of 2018; he has made 3 in his last 2 games. Almondo Sewell: Had just 2 Sacks in the first 12 games of 2018; he has made 5 in his last 4 games. J.C. Sherritt: Needs 14 more defensive tackles to reach 100 for the second time in his career. He made just one last week. Reilly INTs: After throwing 5 interceptions in a 2-game span, Reilly did not throw any last week going 31-of-38 vs Ottawa. Travis Lulay - Home vs Road: Lulay will make his 79th career start (47-31). He is 28-10 at home and only 19-21 on the road. _______________________________________________________________________________________ 👁🗨 This game should be a doozy. 👁🗨 seems weird that a BC victory tonight will get them a playoff berth. Gotta beat the right teams..

Riders’ Charleston Hughes charged with impaired driving
Mr Dee replied to Deiter Fan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It’s not because he’s an athlete. Doesn’t matter if he’s a movie star or rock star or blue collar. We’ve all been educated on this topic. And we have to make choices. That’s the issue. What’s $30 for a cab when you know better? And that’s the point, he should known better because he’s part of an organization that is backing safe drive. He made a choice. It was the wrong one. He’s paying for it now with his suspension, and having his name put out there. And his name has to be out there. It might stop at least one person from doing the same because they can see no one is above this. What do we know what he’s going through? Weak. We’re all susceptible because of our own troubles, but life is above football or sports, so yes, we have to talk about it and keep reminding people to do the right thing. It’s easier than you think. -
Wow, and we think think the Bombers throw a lot of short pssses...

👁🗨In the Bomber’s bye week, at least there are 3 potentially good games this weekend, and this is one of them.. CFL Game #79 Notes & Trends: Hamilton a first in the last 37 years: The Ti-Cats have built a double-digit lead in each of their last 7 games. The last time they accomplished that? Way back in 1981 when they built a 10+ lead in 8 straight games (Aug 8/81 to Oct 4/81). To place that 10+ point edge into historical context, in Ti-Cats' club history when they have taken a 10+ point lead, their record is 386-81-7 or better put ... they have failed to win just 17% of the time. Late Season Back-to-Back Ottawa vs Hamilton: They will be playing their third October home-&-home set in the last 4 years 2015: Ottawa and Hamilton were tied at 10-6 through 16 games. Ottawa SWEPT the two games to finish 1st and Hamilton 2nd. 2016: OTT at 6-7-1, HAM at 6-8. They split and Ottawa earned 1st place as Hamilton dropped their last 2 games to fall to 2nd. 2018 Season Series / Tie Breaker Facts: - Ottawa can clinch the season series with a win having beaten Hamilton 21-15 on Jul 28/18 at Tim Horton's Field - An Ottawa win and at least a tie next week would give them 1st place and a berth in the East Final. - The 2nd place team will play either Edmonton, BC, Winnipeg or Saskatchewan in the East Semi-Final. - A 6-point win by Hamilton in this game throws it wide open and would even the series in both Wins and Points. - If there is a TIE in one game of this set and Hamilton wins the other a standings tie is possible at 9-8-1 - That potential 9-8-1 tie would be settled on points. If the scoring is tied, Division record is invoked and that favours Hamilton - Hamilton's Division record is 4-1 vs Ottawa's at 3-2. #1 CFL Offence: The Ticats have the #1 offence in the CFL at 406 yards per game based on being #2 in both rushing (102 yds) and passing (313 yds). Hamilton has had the #1 CFL Offence just one time in the last 46 years - that was in 1999. Ottawa last 2 games: The REDBLACKS come in with consecutive defeats for just the second time all year. They have not lost 3 straight games since their 1-6-1 start in 2017, a span of 22 games in which they have avoided 3 losses in a row. In the last two weeks they have held an early lead but been unable to hold it. They were outscored 20-0 in the 2nd half by Edmonton and 8-0 in Overtime by Winnipeg to fall to 8-6. Hamilton last 2 games: The Ti-Cats have evened up the East by winning their last 2 games and 5 of their last 7. After a 2-4 start, they have gone 6-3 in their last 9 games - second only to Saskatchewan's 7-3 mark across August to October. The beat BC by 30 points and Toronto by 14 and did not trail in either game at any point. Hamilton back-to-back, wire-to-wire: The Ti-Cats have not trailed in a game since Sep 22/18 vs BC, a game which they led right up to the last play in regulation. It is the first time in 3 years that Hamilton has won 2 in a row without trailing (Oct 2015). Great starts: The Tiger-Cats have led 10 of their 15 games after the 1st Quarter and also at half-time. They have failed to hold 4 of those 1st Quarter leads however and are 6-4 in the 10 times they have gotten in front early.

Riders’ Charleston Hughes charged with impaired driving

Darrell Davis - Per capita, Saskatchewan records the highest number of impaired drivers of any province. http://3downnation.com/2018/10/18/davis-letting-hughes-play-impaired-charge-riders-hypocrites/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+DarrellDavis3downnation+(3+Down+Nation-Darrell+Davis+√) 👁🗨 For some reason, these tallies are recorded in batches...of 13.. -
CFL Game #79 Notes & Trends - Playoff Permutations: The West - 6 games left - 64+ possibilities: The remaining three weeks feature something unusual in recent years - that ALL 6 games down the stretch have playoff implications of one kind or another. That creates a potential for 64 different permutations i.e. 64 combinations of game results. With the complications flowing out of BC and Saskatchewan's yet-to-be-resolved season series (1-0 SSK but has the potential to depend on the final score in their remaining game vs BC to decide it) that complexity produces 16 different potential Standings orders. The East - 2 playoff teams: In the East there will be just two playoff teams and the Cross-Over will occur for CFL a record 3rd consecutive year. The Cross-Over Rule has been in place since 1996 and thus it will be invoked for the 12th time in 23 years. Hamilton and Ottawa will engage in a two-game set to determine 1st and 2nd place - 4 games have implications in this run. BC in a with a win: The Lions can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Edmonton based on their eventual record among common tied opponents in any potential scenario even if they lose their final two games. They would be at least 9-9 and Edmonton no better than 9-9 with a season series edge on the Eskimos. Western Series: Only TWO relevant season series' have been decided in the West to Week #18. Winnipeg holds the edge over BC on points (1-1, 58-39), Saskatchewan defeated Winnipeg 2 games to 1 (the Calgary vs Edmonton/BC/Winnipeg series' do not matter as they cannot be tied in any scenario). Up in the air still ... BC-SSK (0-1) BC-EDM (1-1) WPG-EDM (1-1) CGY-SSK (1-1) Tied: EDM-SSK (1-1, 38 pts each, will depend on other criteria) Calgary: Needs only a tie with Saskatchewan to earn 1st place for the 3rd straight season and for the 4th time in the last 5 years. The Stamps have gained a post-season berth for the 14th year in a row, the longest active streak and 6th-longest in league history. Cross-Over #12: This will be the third straight year and 12th time overall that Cross-Over will send a Western Team to the East Semi-Final. That has affected Eastern clubs as follows - Toronto 2 ('08, '14), Ottawa 2 ('03, '05), Hamilton 2 ('02, '17), and Montreal 1 ('16). The other years replaced Winnipeg when they were an East Division team ('97, '09, '12). ______________________________________________________________________
