Never seen so many depth charges since that U-571 movie.

As the B.C. Lions prepare for their most crucial stretch of the season, offensive coordinator Jarious Jackson is building his game plan around Travis Lulay, a 35-year-old quarterback who returns to the lineup after separating his left shoulder four weeks ago. - Ed Willes

Not bad. Last month our chances of reaching the Grey Cup was 1.21%

Nichols wasn’t the reason we lost 2 playoff games with him at QB; 2017 - 35 out of 48 attempts. 72.92% for 371 yards 3 TDs 0 ints. 2016 - 26 of 40 attempts 65% for 390 yards 2 TDs 0 ints Those numbers are very good.

Lowell Ullrich- “As expected, Jennings has again lost his starting spot to Travis Lulay, coach Wally Buono said.”
-
Lulay playing, could very well be the difference in BC beating out Edmonton for a playoff spot.

More from Rider columnist Darrell Davis..telling it like it is. “Until Willie Jefferson made a Willie Jefferson-type play that was somehow allowed by the CFL’s video-review officials, the Saskatchewan Roughriders were poised to lose a pivotal game against the Edmonton Eskimos. But while Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly was absorbing a helmet hit and getting fallen on by Riders defensive lineman Zack Evans, Jefferson — one of the league’s top defensive players — grabbed an interception and carried it 49 yards for a game-deciding touchdown. Video review somehow ignored the late-game, roughing-the-passer penalties and Saskatchewan beat Edmonton 19-12.”

WINNIPEG, MB., October 9, 2018 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has signed international defensive ends Marcell Frazier and Patrick Choudja. Frazier (6’4, 259, Missouri, January 8, 1994 in Portland, OR) played three seasons with the Missouri Tigers, totalling 87 tackles, 16.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in 36 games. Frazier signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2018 before joining the Cleveland Browns for training camp. Choudja (6’3, 263, Nevada, April 11, 1996 in Oakley, CA) played four seasons with the Nevada Wolfpack, totalling 93 tackles, four and a half sacks and four forced fumbles in 50 games. Choudja signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

Darrell Davis explains the rule and Terry Jones shares his opinion. Is there any part of Davis’s explanation that doesn’t fit how Reilly was tackled on that play?

The Reilly hit should have been RTP. I really don’t understand the waffling. A helmet to helmet hit used to be automatic. What’s changed? I’ve seen hand slaps on helmets called for RTP. Evans slams on Reilly with his full weight..something I thought they were trying to get out of the game.. Damn shame really.

BLM - 20/34 58.8% 199 0 TD 3 int. 39 longest JM - 17/28 60.7% 240 01int. 52 longest So, who’s the stinker in this one? Montreal gave up 6 sacks in this game. Calgary gave up 3 GAME NOTES - before the game: Montreal 5+ Sacks Last 4 games: The Alouettes have now allowed 5 or more Sacks in each of the last 4 games - the first time in all of their club history that any Montreal team has done so. The last time Montreal allowed 5+ Sacks in 3 games in a row was back in 1986. The last CFL to allow 5+ Sacks in 4 or more consecutive games was Winnipeg in 1996. Montreal 53 Sacks Allowed: The Alouettes have allowed the most QB Sacks in the CFL with 53 and are on pace for 68. That would match the most (68 in 2007) that they given up since 1986 (75).

Gobble up these historical facts: “ There has been a Thanksgiving Day CFL game in each year since 1958 - 118 games in total and for the 61st consecutive year. - - There have been 67 Thanksgiving Day games won by the home team, 49 by the visitors and 2 ties. - The highest scoring game came in 1992 - Winnipeg 49, Ottawa 47; the lowest came in 1966 - Hamilton 8, Winnipeg 7 - Edmonton has played the most Thanksgiving Day games with 33 and their meeting with Saskatchewan extends that to 34. - In 2018 Calgary will make it 29 appearances and Montreal 33 in their game; Saskatchewan will make appearance #24. - Edmonton is 20-12-1 on Thanksgiving Day and will play the Riders who are at precisely .500 at 11-11-1 on this Day - Calgary sits at 13-15 all-time and will play Montreal who are at 16-16; this will be their 4th meeting on Thanksgiving Day. - Oddly, the Riders and Eskimos have only two meetings on Thanksgiving Day - in 1962 and in 2011 (one win each). - Winnipeg owns the largest comeback win on this day in 2010 overcoming a 21-point BC lead to win 47-35 in Overtime.” -Game Notes

GAME NOTES: “Stampeders Receiver starters: Despite a lineup that has just 4 starters at Receiver each week (most clubs start 5 receivers – Calgary starts a Fullback each week), Calgary has been forced to employ 8 different starters in 2018. Their receiver starters include Daniels 12, Jorden 10, Michel 10, Durant 8, Begelton 6, Rogers 4, Brescacin 1 and Ambles 1. Julan Lynch and Richard Sindani have also played a major role this year for them at that position.”
-
Montreal all the way baby! “ Bo Levi Mitchell – no wins at Molson: The Stamps #1 QB recorded his 67th career victory as a starter last week and is now at 67-12-2 .840 in 81 starts. He threw for 307 yards making it 29 times at 300+ and moved his record at McMahon Stadium to 38-4. His road record coming into this game is 29-8-2 but just 0-2 in Montreal having lost when facing Rakeem Cato in 2015 and Darian Durant in 2017. Mitchell threw for 379 yards and one TD in last year’s loss in Montreal.” Maybe the Larks will get lucky and win with goal post interference..

Not only is the new CBA going to cause concerns for ALL CFL teams, but the Alliance of American Football league will have an impact on a lot of player decisions. Moreso, International players who have had some success in the CFL, or Nationals like Wolitarsky.. This will be a particularly tough period on CFL GMs.

I suppose you could say there’s an element of luck that the Bombers weren’t playing Montreal in Montreal and the pass didn’t hit one of their gullls that are flying around. Thats pretty lucky..

Hervey Questions Jennings Work Ethic
Mr Dee replied to SpeedFlex27's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
All 3 game winning streaks are annoying. -
Luck has nothing to do with it. The ball didn’t glance off someone’s helmet or hand or goalpost. Dressler ran a route to help his QB. He’s a pro. It worked. It was there. Bravo Nichols..Bravo Dressler

Mike Miller 155 ST: Has pulled into the CFL lead in Special Teams Tackles with 17 after the Oct 5/18 game at Ottawa. The New Brunswick native is up to 155 in his career and that ranks him #12 all-time, 3 back of #11 Ray Biggs at 158 and 6 short of the Top 10. Miller has recorded at least one ST Tackle in 89 of his 137 career games - a remarkable 65% of his appearances.

Debatable. I think he was already stumbling when JFG touched him.
