Can you imagine how sharp this would look if the Bombers chose to do this!?!

Blue Bombers and 680 CJOB Announce Partnership Extension
Mr Dee replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Good gawb, having listened to many broadcasts of different sports etc., and many cross country broadcasts of CFL football, across the prairies, if it’s one thing I will not say about Bob and crew, is that it’s boring. Knowledgable comes to mind, and not over the top, unlike many. Nope, Bob’s still got it, no question. -
Some folks are trying to use this photo as evidence of an infraction on Kevin Glenn. I see this photo as visual proof that there was NO infraction from that angle..

Herb Zurkowsky- Montreal Gazette For the seventh time since 2012, the Alouettes are seeking a warm body to coach their team. After Dan Hawkins, Jim Popp, Tom Higgins, Popp again, Jacques Chapdelaine and Kavis Reed, fans would hope that one of these times the organization’s bound to get it right. With Paul LaPolice signing a contract extension with Winnipeg that includes a financially hefty escape clause, (???) that leaves Devone Claybrooks, Corey Chamblin, Marcel Bellefeuille, Jamie Elizondo and Mark Washington. This could be a considerable list, including the likes of Tracy Ham, Tom Clements and a number of other CFL coordinators, such as Mike Benevides, Marcus Brady, Khari Jones, Richie Hall and Mark Nelson. And don’t forget Laval head coach Glen Constantin Here are some names to consider — Stubler, a favourite of Reed’s; Chris Palmer, who once coached with the Als (1983) before going to the NFL and was a Cleveland Browns’ head coach; Western head coach Greg Marshall, the other Vanier Cup finalist and a former Hamilton head coach. Even Danny Barrett, who’s coaching Miami’s running backs and is a former Saskatchewan head coach. Reed has said he wants the hiring completed by mid-December.. (Hell, it might take him that long to locate all those names..)

This is exactly the thinking the Bombers can zone in on for the start of the new season. There is absolutely no need to unfurl Hurl once again in that all too important MLB role. New thinking and a new direction is a must for this team.
-
Part 2 ??Henoc Muamba played a hell of a game in a losing cause..
-
And the winner for best line on Twitter.. for that FG decision: “Guess his name should be DumbMaas… ?”
-
Yes, Rod, clearly that was the intent.. And your thinking is as reasonable as Maas’s decision to kick a FG. Perhaps his intent was to have Calgary in the Grey Cup? At least you fit in with rest of the team..
-
I’ve seen a lot of messed up decisions over the past year, but that decision to kick a FG on 3rd and 4 when you’re wIthin scoring range, and you’ve already proved you can get the 1st down is beyond bizarre. It doesn’t even make sense. Loss of downs would be deep in Calgary zone..then you stop them. Nope, one maased up, downright dumb call.

Why the Stamps wanted to use our defensive strategy on that play is a surprise to me.

How write you are

How nice, finally, to have the football gods lay out a great game plan to tease and give ‘dem ‘der greenies a taste of a tantalizing victory, then casually smile as they slapped the upstarts with reality, punctuated by a 3rd and 5 to win the game, only to fall under the x-Ray spell. Perhaps, when they return to Regina, and not Ottawa as they planned, they can all sit together and watch that game movie over and over again. No charge of course... Sweet.
-
Good, that will free up some money for the Bombers to spend elsewhere..?
-
I think you’re wrong on this one. I know I buckled my chin strap, adjusted my jock strap, and put lots of black shiner around my eyes when it looked like they were serious about Hurl at MLB. Maybe, it could work, I said. Maybe, they know what they’re doing and it will all work out. Nervousness turned to anxiousness, and the anxiety grew after all the “he’s doing what we ask” talk. It was a complete and utter failure and contributed to a disastrous defence. Miserable Line Backing is not a Bomber tradition, and cannot be allowed to see the light of day again. What would I do if I saw him penciled in again? I don’t want to think about it..

??I want to make mention of someone who has brought awareness and a great style to the Winnipeg Blue Bomber org. I’m speaking of Ed Tait. The guy has put out so many feature stories and tidbits of information that’s it’s hard to keep up with. And they’re interesting, as well as informative. Let’s not ever take this guy for granted. He’s an MVW. - Most Valuable Writer and he writes for us... “Working on CFL broadcasts like medicine for Matt Dunigan’s mind - “On this night, the stars are CFL legends Milt Stegall and Matt Dunigan, along with CFL panel host Rod Smith.” “Dunigan calls it rehab for his brain, which has been affected by years of suffering concussions while taking big hits on the field and playing a head-first style of game.” An interesting piece by Ted Wyman. http://winnipegsun.com/sports/football/cfl/working-on-cfl-broadcasts-like-medicine-for-matt-dunigans-mind ??And now Saskatchewan has extended Caleb Holley .....Chase stegall ??No matter who your team is, this is pretty cool Football crop circle ??Naaman Roosevelt has had a couple of concussions in the past few weeks. Life after football may have him working for Wheel of Fortune, slowly selling off his vowels to earn a living. Words “Those 2 teams don't compare talent-wise to what we have on this team." @ChadOwens2 on matchup vs. @REDBLACKS. ??Jim Bender is making a late push for most ignorant Bomber beat writer..and he’s succeeding. ??Wonder what’s going on in former Rider Coach, Cory Chamblin’s mind, as he finishes preparations for the East final against...his former team ??Horrible U Sport football game between Western 81and Acadia 3 ??The Argos are the healthier team for the final... ??That kicker from the Calgary Dino’s (Niko DeFonte) can really put the foot to FGs. Last week, a 59 yarder for the win, and this week a 47 yarder with plenty of distance...but Calgary lost 35-23 ??Good luck to all teams in the finals in each division...well, except for one.?

Tough games coming up. This was a nice one to start the roll.. From goaltending through to the 4th line...there is a good look about these guys.
-
So, how good was the Bombers D-Line? 4 Bombers out of top ten in average depth of tackles. Excellent!
-
The emergence of Max Coates opens an intriguing avenue for the Bombers to go with 2 NI receivers. Drew Wolitarsky, if he is indeed ready, would provide a viable outlet for Nichols. And of course, we have Feoli-Gudino. We could be ready to go this way. And why not?
-
Hmm,....Kevin Glenn playing the Argonauts, the game before the Grey Cup. Can’t be any harm in that, can there?
-
Seems to me Carter thinks this is a good thing..?
-
If I had any say in it, we would stay away from drafting any Muambas, Mulumbas, Mumbas , Mambos and and any name that has to many ‘u’s...in the surname. Just precautionary.

Featuring none other than McLeod Bethal-Thompson as back up QB...

CFL.ca Staff Game Notes Lose and you go home... *Since 1961 (when inter-Division play began) Saskatchewan actually holds an edge playing in Toronto – 26 wins to 21. (By comparison in Eastern road games, the Riders are 14-24 at Montreal and 18-26 at Hamilton) *This game pits the CFL’s two best first down teams – Toronto averaged 7.00 yards per play and Saskatchewan was at 6.96. *One key 2017 difference was in QB Sacks Made – Toronto is tied at #1 with 50, Saskatchewan ranked #8 with 27. *Saskatchewan swept Toronto in their two-game series in 2017 and have now won the last three times they have played the Argos. *Saskatchewan won both 2017 meetings despite trailing by deficits of 10 points (Jul 29/17) and 13 points (Oct 7/17).(Saskatchewan outscored Toronto by a combined 38 to 18 in the second half and won after trailing each game at half-time) *The second half comebacks were led first by Kevin Glenn (Jul 29th) and then on Oct 7th by Brandon Bridge. (Oct 7th: Bridge threw for 292 yards and two TDs off the bench leading five scoring drives in his seven possessions at QB) *Ricky Ray threw for 300+ yards in both games with five TD passes and 74 per cent completion mark. *James Wilder was held to 107 yards rushing on 24 carries; the Riders are the last team to keep him under 100 yards. *Duron Carter had games of 131 & 71 yards with two TD catches and five going for clutch second down conversions. *S.J. Green had games of 68 & 76 yards with two TD catches and five second down conversions on just 14 total targets. *FG perfection: Tyler Crapigna made all seven of his FG attempts while Lirim Hajrullahu went five-for-five on his tries. *Bakari Grant added 200 receiving yards on 12 catches – the most yards he had against any opponent in 2017. ??But for all that, I’m saying it’s Jones vs Trestman, and may the best man win...
