Offensive PI? Arm extended on the push from Williams = good call and review. The Duke has already got a reputation for pushing off, and getting away with it. That's his MO. There would have been a point when he starts to get called on those push-offs. Perhaps today was the start. On the Reilly hit. Yes, I believe that would have been a penalty if it was reviewed. If only they had a challenge left. Tough choice. Perhaps it was kharma..

CFL No Contact Practices Good Or Bad For League?
Mr Dee replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm on he ref's side on that Reilly hit. It was a hellacious hit, straight on, straight on the chest. Then his head snaps. I can't tell if there's contact at that point. To me, the question of Reilly looking slightly dazed came about on the fall to the ground, where he definitely hit his head., and looked a little frazzled. It was a good call to take a closer look at him, no matter what Maas was saying. There can be concussion protocols even if there is no penalty called. And I didn't see any fines for that hit, but I may have missed it. Anybody? -

Since Winnipeg Gordo isn't here, I'll post this for him - Winnipeg Gordo - Fun Fact: With 380 points in 11 games the #Bombers have already scored more points than the '12, '13 and '15 teams did in 18 games. This is the unspectacular Paul LaPolice... EDIT - Oops, I see he is here. The point stands though

WEEK 12 Bye - Toronto Bob Irving - Re the Riders faking injuries, I will just say this: In all things in life there is a high road and there's a low road; we all choose As reported on TSN post game show. A league mandate was sent out telling teams they want the pace of the game maintained and any shenanigans would be frowned upon. CFL News - #Ticats GM Eric Tillman confirms on @TSN1200 that the Johnny Manziel workout was impressive and that "he's a special talent." #CFL -Offensive-tackle Xavier Fulton, who has played for both #Riders and #Ticats, was signed on Monday by #AlsMTL. - @HerbZurkowsky1 #CFL -#Redblacks add 5 to practice roster mailchi.mp/oseg/redblacks… #CFL via @OSEG_Media ??5 of the six players Hamilton has just signed are Nationals…due to injury. CFL News - Eskimos release national defensive back Chris Rwabukamba. #CFL #Esks via @EdmontonEsks CFL Headlines - Fired CFL coach drives traded player’s belongings over 2,000 miles from… goo.gl/fb/pz33Kn via @thecomeback - Jeff Reinebold drove John Chick's belongings to make a cross-country move easier for Chick's wife and eight children. Herb Zurkowsky - Montreal now has a record of 2-15 in Vancouver since 2001, and they remain third in the East Division, with a 3-8 mark. The Als have lost four consecutive games, outscored 145-59. ??Kyries Hebert at MLB. There's nothing the Bomber Defence couldn't do if we had this guy on D Derek Taylor - Westerman's get-off is so good I would swear he's offside on 1/3 of the plays. Amazing quickness/anticipation/reaction ??The Riders response to all the din over the 'fake injuries' was that they believe in player safety first. Honest. Ed Tait - 97: The length of Moe Leggett’s punt-return TD, the longest in Bombers history. Dexter Dawson and Eric Blount had shared the record for the longest previously, at 92 yards. CFL.ca - The Riders had gone a span of 180 minutes without trailing and over that time have led for 160:33 of the game clock. - Not being ahead after the 1st Quarter has not troubled the Bombers as they lead the CFL in coming back from being down after 15:00. Winnipeg is 4-3 when they have behind after the 1st Quarter and that is #1 in the CFL in comeback victories. ??How cool was that to show Bomber fans flashing soccer-type red cards for faking injuries… The boys, having fun strumming on the ole banjo.... ??I sure don't like how Milo kicks those FG attempts. (So pleased with Medlock) And I wrote this prior to Milo's miss.... Wpg. Sun - One could question the wisdom of Nichols running free into the Riders secondary and lowering his head to take on defenders with a 20-point lead and less than five minutes to go. His teammates didn’t, though. “When your quarterback takes off and tries to chuck a halfback or safety when the game is pretty much clinched at that point, or you’re clinching it, that just shows what kind of guy he is,” Harris said. “It just shows the guts, the intensity, the will to win that he has.” “I wanted to go out there and take that last snap and take the knee and celebrate with the guys,” Nichols said. “That’s the way you want to finish games.” ??Only Rod Pedersen could interpret the loudest fan results as ‘a tie’. Terry Jones - The lack of discipline illustrated by Kenny Ladler and Chris Edwards late reflects on Jason Maas who had a meltdown over a video review. This incident… Bob Irving - Bombers ran one of the most clever and deceptive special teams plays I've ever seen on the Moe Leggett punt return TD 3 downnation - the Bombers have now won the season series with Saskatchewan for the third-straight season. Speaking of Leggett, what more does the Bombers’ strong-side linebacker need to do to begin earning consideration for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player award? He plays the toughest defensive position in the game and does so at a higher level than anyone. There are a number of intriguing free agents who could help the Bombers down the stretch — all-star halfback Aaron Grymes and national defensive end Andy Mulumba come to mind — and Nevis is an expensive player to have on the sidelines. Could we see a roster shake-up coming up over the club’s bye week? Chris Walby - Maurice aka.Moe Leggett.had a game most professionals dream about. Love his Mom and son were there. Outstanding. ??Group hug. Jason Maas, Chris Jones and Kent Austin…at their next anger management meeting… 3downnation- Edmonton Eskimos head coach Jason Mass was emotional after Saturday’s loss to the Calgary Stampeders. In his scrum with reporters after the game, he questioned the officiating, the CFL’s concussion protocol, the competency of the command centre, explained his lack of discipline on the sidelines and feels the timing on the 44-man roster rule should be changed. http://3downnation.com/2017/09/10/esks-coach-gm-jason-mass-goes-off-post-game-scrum/ ??The Eskimos are the most penalized team in the League ??QB Qrisis? Trevor Harris (shoulder) Kevin Glenn (hand) Chris Edwards TSN - nope didn't break haha. Much respect to Riders fans last week, but IGF is hands down the loudest park in #CFL Jonathan Crompton - Well I guess karma really is true lol, treat the only QB that has won for you in years like crap, and still can't win #karmaisa***** Lol The Toronto Argonauts announced Sunday that the team has added international defensive back Mitchell White and Canadian defensive back Anthony Coady to the practice roster. ??Nice stat: Winnipeg, which held the ball for 11 minutes 14 seconds in the fourth quarter, ran 62 offensive plays to the Roughriders’ 49 in the game. The Bombers finished with 30 first downs and 410 yards of net offence. CFL.ca The CFL has reviewed the Jul 21/17 Winnipeg at BC game and specifically the play made by Winnipeg's Derek Jones. On play #26, Jones rushes the punter and contacts both ball and kicker (Ty Long) disrupting the attempt. Though the ball did cross the line of scrimmage, it went downfield only 12 yards where it was fielded by Matt Coates and a No Yards penalty was called properly by our Officials. The CFL Rulebook was amended in 2013 to credit defenders with a blocked kick in instances where this limited downfield gain of field position is made as a result of a defender's actions: "For any such Punt that in the opinion of the statistician is sufficiently disrupted by the defending player partially blocking (deflecting) the kick ... or limiting the punt downfield, that player will be credited with a blocked kick." The CFL Rulebook suggests that 10 yards downfield would be the maximum considered in these cases; but this has now been amended to include all instances where the punt itself is clearly altered substantially as Jones did that day, and results in short kick yardage only. In this extraordinary and unique case as seen through close video review, Jones actually touches the ball first before Long can kick it, and then Long manages a kick despite Jones' initial touch of the ball. Randy Turner - All those #Bombers fans booing that injured Riders player are going to look pretty stupid when he wins an Emmy. Chris Walby - What a game. Way to go Big Blue. Best O -Line in the CFL. Beasts. ???? Kyries Hebert - Hebert finished the game with a game-high 10 tackles. He also picked up a quarterback sack. Hebert is now second in the league in defensive tackles, as he trails B.C. linebacker Solomon Elimimian by just two tackles. WEEK 13 Sask. @ Hamilton- Friday Edm. @ Toronto- Saturday BC @ Calgary - Saturday Ott. @ Montreal - Sunday Bye - Winnipeg

And that's what the other side of the discussion says. That is, we already have that aspect of the game covered. Lankford brings the speed, if only to open up the very same short stuff you're talking about. Somebody has to stretch the field besides Adams. I honestly can't say which receiver suits our offence better, but I don't see the point in questioning who the Coaches do. Maybe, all it takes, is a little more time for Thorpe..
-
One of the biggest complaints about players is their lack of contribution. I believe that's what's been pointed out in Lankford's case. If he's going to be in the lineup, he has to contribute. He did.

??This game was directly opposite of what I wrote last week - we won all phases of the game this week AND, ??We didn't get out Coached this week. ??I loved the arrogance of Duron Carter on taking the ball out of the end zone, thinking what? That he could out maneuver everybody? ??Saskatchewan's Plan to loose a moose in the IGF area only worked to lessen the opening kickoff metre reading. Nice try though. ??How about that QB of ours? Mr Nichols doesn't like losing, does he? ??Well, it looks like the Riders did come up lame for real this game... ??Was just thinking how nice it is to watch the game nowadays. It just seems less challenging.. ??Looks like we got the right Knox in this time. ??Walker - a couple of rookies errors...but forgivable. He's in the right spots.. ??I'm really glad the Riders spent so much time on their TD celebrations... ??That punt return...the whole routine was brilliant. Fogg, playing his part, and Leggett..that guy is smart. Didn't think he'd make it all the way but... ??Nothing fake about that win... ??Chris Jones's veins are popping out again. He sure loves to actively demonstrate his displeasure with a player.. ??Theres a deep down, underlying feeling that the Bombers should have broken the 50 point margin...just because ??How many points did the Bomber's D allow in the 2nd half again? Oh yeah 8 They owned every quarter Blue Bomber Talk - #Bombers have now won 4-straight home games. Longest winning streak in IGF's history. #Riders #CFL ??Santos-Lucia 1st great play of the Game, on that interception ....Santos-Knox! ??You know what's really good about that Bomber game? EVERYTHING ??Last week, we were out coached. Certainly not this week. Good reversal by LaPolice and his play calling. ??Nichols is pushing to be recognized as a top starter. ??That prairie boy Ambrosie...showing some class by driving out to McGregor Mb. to visit that ill Bomber fan... ??Oh no, Bomber bye week...what will we do? ??Mr Denmark, we appreciate your performance... ??The way that Nichols ran the ball late in the game was uplifting, making the fumble secondary with what he accomplished in his teammates' eyes. ??Mm, who was that carrying the ball on a sweep for a big 1st down?...then catching a TD pass? Oh yeah, the misfit..Lankford ??Ha, the Bombers win the toss and defer to the 2nd half, to get the wind, but Medlock ignores that strategy and just boots it like crazy anyways. Chase De Leo- (Manitoba Moose) - Had an awesome time at my first #CFL @Wpg_BlueBombers game today. What an atmosphere! What a city! Thanks for the tickets @andrewharris33 ?? ??So they interview Nichols after the game and the last thing he says is praising the work of Moe Leggett....respect ??Only 5 penalties and 1 turnover. If the Bombers can play like this every game, they can beat anyone.. ??Punt returns - Duron Carter 3 for 3 yards ??A special thanks to Chris Jones for showing us, with the formation, that the Riders were going to onside kick ??Weston Dressler 3 receptions for 56 yards. He joins the top 25 receivers of all time with that yardage...He also had 1 tackle ??Harris 57 yards rushing. Nichols 53 ??That TD drive before the half showed everybody what the Blue are made of...and answered the Rider TD. The point being made is not the accidental contact in the end zone, but rather, the Bombers moved the ball in response to Sask's score. ??It seemed every time the Riders did something in scoring, the Bombers responded ??I'll leave you with this...

I'm not going to say it was Saskatchewan's mistake, but rather a brilliantly orchestrated, practiced football play designed and executed perfectly. Like any well designed play, it involves deceiving the opposing team, and leading them to do what you want them to do.

Boy, are we ever lucky to have a truly unbiased, non-tinted-glasses-wearer, totally objective football fan on board. And the first one to boot! So lucky...

I had to stop following that guy. He spews too much venom. He's got a serious problem with the Bombers and I cannot fathom the why. He s acting like a spurned teenager with a crush. Or an athlete (ok , I know I can't picture that either) who was cut from the team without reason. And that's his writing...without reason.

The Lions are coming off a Week 11 bye to host the Alouettes. Teams coming off a bye this year are 6-3. West Division teams are 19-3 versus the East Division this year. The last East victory came in Week 10 when Ottawa beat BC 31-24. Montreal will be looking for their first road victory of the season. Boris Bede’s current 69.7-yard kickoff average is the highest in CFL history and is on pace to break the record of 67.9 yards set by Jamie Boreham in 2010. If you look at the games this week, I can envision the standings, in the West, after this weekend, as being: If you look at the games this week, I can envision the standings, in the West, after this weekend, as being: GP W L T Pts. Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
Mr Dee replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Here we go again. A disclaimer. As stated above and in about 10-15 other posts, there were 3 incidents of "going down" to stop the play. The real issue, is NOT the stoppage but because they occurred after the play was blown in, and just before our hurry up Offence. That isn't a coincidence. It was planned. There must be some reason why it's a #1 sports topic across the country...and it isn't just Bomber fans. Oh, and of course, Rider fans believe it hook, lying and stinker.. -
