"This is our house" - Mike Reilly Looks like you'll need a new security firm Mike, because not only did the Riders invade your house...they had a party and trashed your rumpus room, kitchen and all your living space. Thats the first time I've seen Reilly play scared. The Riders threw a defence at Edmonton that they had no answer for and Reilly paid the price, over and over. Talk about throwing the ball up for grabs. That's two weeks in a row the Eskimos looked underwhelming, and the scores would have been more evened out had the Eskimos donated the ball to us as much as they did last night. But take nothing away from the Riders because they were focused and they took advantage of every miscue, and there were lots.

Edmonton...

I agree Saskatchewan is playing better than the start of the year. No doubt. As to Edmonton, I don't compare one team having played two different teams and making a comparison. Edmonton was/is a house of cards, and we are seeing them collapse. As close as our game against the Eskis seemed, we really did dominate them. As to Saskatchewan, well play them how we'll play them, and I hope it's well. I'll not underestimate either team.

From my eyes Saskatchewan IS better prepared than the Eskis, and playing at a better pace. Of course, many subs for the Eskis might have something to do with it. That and the worst K/P performance this year doesn't help. Oh, yeah, and Mike Reilly flinging the ball anywhere but... Tough first half for the home team... and I don't see it changing much.

I'd like this idea also. Loffler is exactly what he is, not great, but fairly good at hitting. Loffler would definitely benefit from being closer to the play. His coverage would improve in that regard. Perhaps Jones would provide the speed that Loffler is lacking in reaching targets. All in all, an upgraded D provided Jones could step in. I do think he's ready. Let's do it.

I can't defend Hurl because I don't have all the facts. It's really hard to dissect a player's contribution to the overall scheme of things, so to make statements that can't be backed up are useless. Is he in position? Is he calling the right alignments? Does he flow to the ball? Does the effort he puts in inspire his teammates? Does that make him a leader? Hurl is not the quintessential MLB that so many of the fans covet, but he is in there for a reason (other than to take heat off of Carmichael). I don't believe this makes him a liability. If he was, our record wouldn't be as it is. As long as we keep winning, and his name is easy to pronounce, then I'm in.

??Thanks for the visit Mosaic. It's given me a new found direction. Now, more than ever, I want the Eskimos to kick the Riders right in the Moose Jaw. Ian Hamilton- Saskatchewan is 3-4-0 in games following bye weeks since 2014, but that run includes four losses in its past 5 -Saskatchewan is 0-3-0 on the road and was dominated in Calgary and Vancouver (where the Lions prevailed 30-15 on Aug. 5). Roughriders quarterback Kevin Glenn’s statistics reflect the disparity between home and away thus far: He has thrown 13 touchdown passes and has averaged 354 yards in four games at Mosaic Stadium, but he has tossed just one TD pass and has averaged 229 yards in the Roughriders’ three road games. -Odell Willis leads Edmonton with six sacks this season, using his speed and spin move to great effect. But Thaddeus Coleman practised against Willis for three seasons when they were Eskimos teammates, so (T)Coleman knows what Willis likes to do in certain situations — and that could come in handy today. CFL News - Across the CFL through the first 9 weeks, only 11 different QBs have started a game this year, one above the minimum. By year here are the totals at this point - 2017: 11, 2016: 15, 2015: 14. Terry Jones - Perfect weather and hot tickets. Selling like crazy today for Eskimos-Riders. Sold 1,400 so far this morning. Now at 38,683. - Update 39,088 On the road Riders 0-3 At home Eskimos 4-0 QBs - Glenn is 6th in CFL passing (2104 yards, 14 TD, 7 INTs) Reilly is 3rd in passing (2685 yards, 15 TDs, 5 INTs) K Tyler Crapigna is 8th in FG percentage (82.4%) ... P Josh Bartel is 5th in punting average (44.0) ... LB Glenn Love leads in special teams tackles (10). K/P Hugh O'Neill is 8/10 on field goals with a punting average of 45.7 ... DB Cauchy Muamba leads in STT (11). The Riders are the CFL's least-penalized team while Edmonton is most-penalized ..- Rod Pedersen Eskimos Staff - The Eskimos have made 10 lineup changes for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium, resulting in eight – yes, EIGHT! – different starters on defence from last week’s game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. "I don’t care how many Sask. people show up,” Reilly said. “This is our damn house and this is always a home game here." ??Yikes, Shamawd Chambers will make his first start at wide receiver (with Chris Getzlaf going to the practice roster)

Yes, the day of a Bomber game is too early to post next week's game. Give us time to absorb and wallow in the game at hand. There is plenty of time to delve into the twelve that is Saskatchewan.... later. Especially when a troll like Mosaic enters the convo...
-
Now that you have 2 McDonalds in town, the choice will be way more difficult when we win. Or will you just take different bicycles to each?
-
So, after tonight, will Mosaic become Nosaic?
-
Fool that you are to bring up 26 years when the Riders own the record of 52 years without hoisting the Cup..

We had pretty good pressure last night but many misses on Durant. I can't really complain. A few wild throws were the result of the pressures. Would Poop Johnson have made much difference last night? Not sure, but 'Poop' will always be #1 in my books...or maybe, #2...

... ??Clarence Denmark must have heard all the talk of dropping him from the lineup when Dressler gets back....2 TDs ??It's nice to have and hold the lead all game. ??Adams - pure money ??The Bede bounce... ??Still hate those TD calls when the receiver/runner fumbles the ball without possession ??First time, in a long time, where we win the game after an opposition player accomplishes a record setting feat...feels good ??Remember when we did just enough to lose a game? ??Does the fact Bombers are wearing home uniforms count as a home win? ??And the groan from Saskatchewan gets even louder. ??Bombers are keeping their offensive scoring average up there...33 points average over what...the last 7 games? Derek Taylor - Speaking on LaPo's sense of humour...2:08 left in the 4th, Neufeld waggles to the line as the Field #2 rec. Minimum 3rd time this season! - Final count from the Eskimos/Bombers game...Edmonton missed a CFL season high 19 tackles! Previous high was 13. ??That Nichols guy sure gets the job done.. ??Special package delivery for the Montreal Alouettes. - Andrew Harris 17 touches - 106 yards.. ??The taste of revenge tingled the lips of the Alouettes players until Randle wiped it away ??Leggett, he de man ??Can say that that was probably Knox's best game. ??A thank you note has been sent to Durant on behalf of Chris Randle for throwing to his side. ??Can't win any coin tosses, but we won the time of possession.. Winnipeg Gordo - Wade Miller sighting at the GnR concert. He said this is the 1st #Bombers away game he hasn't gone to in 4 years. Blue And Gold CFL- Lankford can fly when he's in open space #Bombers - When I talked to Adams on my flight back to Winnipeg (he was sitting beside me), he said Mincy was the most underrated DB in the CFL Ted Wyman - How big is that hustling special teams tackle by Ryan Lankford to catch Stef Logan on the kickoff return now? #Bombers ??We shouldn't have let Montreal back in the game before the half... ??Must be super frustrating for Nic Lewis to set a new record...and still lose the game ??Trick play on the Bonbers? Nuh-huh Christophe Normand with the stop Patric Scott - Wow I called that interception right before it happened! I SEE YOU @ChrisRandle_Ad ??But really, did it have to be such a Nic Lewis call out all game? ??Run Matt, Run, - 2nd leading Bomber rusher Blue Bomber Talk - That punt from Ryan Lankford may have been the best of the game. That's saying something, considering he's a receiver. #Bombers #AlsMTL #CFL Medlock is 95% career from 30-39 ??BOMBERS = ENTERTAINMENT ??3's the number for game winning FGs for Mr. Medlock Blue And a Gold CFL - Ryan Lankford's punt travelled 60+ yards in the air #Bombers Matthias Goosen - Another gritty win #fortheW! Love battling with my brothers!!! Paddy Neufeld - Huge win, I love this team, every single part of it! #forthew #bombers ??What an effort by Denmark for the 1st overtime TD. Make the catch, flip over, stretch, and get the TD. The throw was bang on. Same for the throw and catch by Adams. Right where it had to be. 1st 2 point conversion this year ??Oh, by the way Hail Mary interceptions don't count.. Chris Randle - “The resiliency of this team, the mindset of this team … at no point in time on that sideline did we think we were going to lose the game,” said Randle, whose team is 4-1 on the road this season and 11-3 over the last two seasons. “That comes from the head coach and the leaders and all the players who were focused and determined to win this game no matter how we had to win it.” ??The West Division is now 18-2-1 against the East ??Risky play or not, on the Bombers kicking the ball from their own zone? I think the 1st kick was warranted, but the second kick was playing with fire ? ??Although it sure was irritating to have technical difficulties resulting in no coverage, it was sure nice to hear the Bombers had scored in the meantime.. ??One word response from Ian Wild....."Whew!" ??Many feel that the recognition for Lewis should have waited for another day instead of at the end of the game with everybody leaving. I agree. Darrin Bauming - There's a vibe inside that room — it's a real thing — the guys know they can win every week. The O'Shea mentality has sunk in. #Bombers - A five-game win streak, and the #Bombers have not trailed in a game in their last four contests. Some days off now before prep for LDC-Banjo ??Worth mentioning again....RANDLE! ??Bombers' 'hands' team showed up again. Is it because we always play shorter teams? ??I know it was a Guns and Roses concert last night but Aerosmith's "Living on the Edge" seems more appropriate for the Bombers.. June Jones - "I think winning is way more than just what you do on the field. I think it starts in the locker room." - @CoachJuneJones...??Seems very appropriate in relation to the Bombers. ??Tell me. How can the CFL expect to match the entertainment value of Bomber games this year? TJ Heath - Who said they would all be easy. That's a fairy tale. It's hard winning. 7-2 ??Your move Saskatchewan...

Don't forget, Lankford's speed tonight chased down Stephan Logan on his dynamic kickoff return of 82 yards to the Winnipeg 24. Two plays later we forced a fumble. I t wouldn't be erroneous to say that play saved us 7 points...

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

This sets up a classic confrontation in Week 13 when Jones and the Riders travel to Hamilton to take on the mighty Jones and the Ticats. June Jones wouldn't happen to be from Indiana now would he? -
Even though they have Giguère listed ahead of Lewis on the depth chart, you can bet that Lewis will get plenty of field time. CFL Game Notes provide this info... Nic Lewis reached #2 all-time last week and now has 1,020 receptions for his career, 9 short of matching Geroy Simon (1,029) for the all-time CFL lead in regular season games. 21 different QBs who have connected with him over his 220 career games. Most notable is the importance of Nik's catches as 333 of them have gone for conversions on 2nd down plays. More, from CFL Game Day: Nichols has now gone 160 pass attempts without an INT and nearing his career-best of 167 in a row set in 2016 (Aug 12/16 - Sep 24/16). He is on pace for a club record 5,431 passing yards and to be the first Blue Bombers 5k passer since Kevin Glenn in 2007 (5,114). The Bombers were 7-of-9 on 2nd down conversions last week in short yardage (1-3 yards) compared to Montreal who did not have a single 2nd down play less than 2nd-&-5 against Toronto (0-for-0). The Als went 5-for-17 overall for a 29% mark. The Als allowed only 2 QB Sacks in their first 5 games, but have given up 10 in their last 3 contests. The Bombers have allowed 14 sacks over the last 5 games and at least two in each of them. The Alouettes have started a CFL-low 6 drives in the opposition end of the field all year long. By contrast, Winnipeg has begun 16 drives in their opponent's end of the field. Montreal's average starting point of their own 33-yard line is the poorest in the CFL thus far. The Bombers come in ranked #2 with 34.3 points per game and only 0.1 back of Calgary at 34.4. On offence alone, the Bombers are #1 in scoring at 31.8 points in part due to their incredible scoring rate. They have scored either a TD or field goal on 52 of their 113 drives for a 46% rate. They have only 30 Two-&-Outs all season. The Bombers have not ranked as high as #2 in the CFL in scoring since 2002 Justin Medlock Pace: Made 4 more FGs last week and now has 28 for the season - on pace for even more than his record-setting 60 made last season. He is on track to make 63 FGs in 2017 and that would be 123 in two years. The CFL record for FGs made in back-to-back seasons is 113 by David Ridgeway in 1989-90. With 112 points atop the CFL, Justin is on pace (252 pts) to break the CFL scoring record of 242 points by Damon Duval set in 2009 and his own club record of 227. The Bombers lead the CFL with 11 interceptions made by 8 different players and with at least one in 7 of their 8 games to date. Over the last 4 games, they are +5 on T/O Ratio (2 Turnovers made to 7 forced). AND, worth mentioning, Ten years ago today they changed the name - Arena Rd. to Milt Stegall Dr. And then they move the Stadium. Figures.

Bombers.. - Last week may have been our only home game this month, but we're carrying the energy & love from our home crowd with us. #Homemade #ForTheW Here's how writers from 3downnation look at tonight's game: Dunk: Winnipeg gets a sneaky tough road win. BOMBERS Hodge: Winnipeg is rolling. BOMBERS Edwards: More West on East crime. BOMBERS Gasson: Montreal is searching for answers. BOMBERS Busby: Als won’t have much of an answer for offensively-charged Bombers. BOMBERS Smith: The Als are much better at home (3-1) than on the road (0-4), but Winnipeg is just much better than Montreal. BOMBERS Filoso: Winnipeg might be the hottest team in the league. BOMBERS Totals: BOMBERS 7 ALS 0
