  1. Well, that settles it. I want to thank bbking for that he info, and for all the great music and for showing me all I have to do is send stuff to Rich...and he'll figure out what to do with it. ?
  2. It 'seams' he's doing alright. 821 yards over 31 returns in 7 games for an average of 26.5 yards a return. That average is good for 2nd overall, behind only Chris Edwards who has 13 returns. I'd say he's doing pretty good..so take it back. ?
  3. People complain about bout only getting FGs but Medlock was able to kick 4 FGs after the Bomber offence first had drives of 45 yards, 59 yards, 43, and 43 again. That's an offence moving the ball. Besides the fact Hamilton didn't have the ball during these drives, those points were enough for a tie right there.
  4. If it's one thing I've learned over the years is to never underestimate Coah Wally Buono, nor GM Wally Buono. He knows this game. He knows talent and he can definitely read a room. Hence, prior to yesterday's game, he felt 'not so good vibes' emanating from the locker room. He didn't abdicate responsibility to try and change the mood, he relied on a proven veteran, that the players respect, to try and get them out of that funk. It didn't work. It will in the future. The Lions biggest problem was falling into that trap of not being mentally ready, and it all started with their own QB. No way was Jennings ready, mentally or physically for that game, and the team followed his poor direction. They couldn't match the Riders intensity in any way, shape, or form. Lulay, if he was healthy, would have fared better, as he is way more experienced in playing against the odds. Jennings is not mentallly tough enough yet. I don't know if he will get there either. So, it was no contest, because the Riders were ready, and played a solid game, and the Lions were always chasing and didn't make any plays. When your QBs can't make plays, you're in trouble. And the Lions had a heap of that yesterday.
  5. Hell, we don't play BC until Oct 14. And here I thought we had a blueprint on how to beat them...

The club also announced the release of import quarterback Jake Heaps from the practice roster Johnny Manziel said the Canadian Football League “is definitely something I’ve looked into,” but that he still hopes to play in the NFL. All I know, after watching that Friday night game, between Toronto and Montreal, is that somebody owes me a CFL football game to watch… Bob Irving - At the risk of insulting anyone's intelligence, the Argos have zero, as in no, hope of going anywhere without Ricky Ray ?‍? We got a look at a lumbering QB, when the Argos decided to start Jeff Matthews against Montreal. It's going to take a while before I can used to his style of QBing. He is s l o w. ?‍? Flags are flying. Toronto and Montreal combined for 23 penalties for over 220 yards. Total offence for both teams was only 641… Toronto had a whopping 6 seconds more possession time.. June Jones to take over. Derek Taylor - Nichols is under pressure the least of any CFL QB (19% of dropbacks). 7. Does BC miss Burnham that much? One word for BC's performance? Brutal Still don't consider Cindy Williams an elite receiver, and you can't make me.. Carter loves dem der face masks... Wally read his locker room well, didn't he? Duron Carter playing one play at D- back.. is a lot closer to another D -b word I was thinking of.. Not only were the Lions not on the same page, they weren't in the same library. For tonight only BC Lions become the PU Lions 13 hurries, 12 hits and 4 sacks for Sask. Are you watching Richie Hall and Mike O'Shea? Credit the Riders for a good game plan and even better execution. Debit the Lions for the exact opposite.
  8. Riders will be 3-1 at the "new" Mozaic Stadium. Remind me again who handed them their only loss...
  9. BC @ SASKATCHEWAN ?‍?Marks the return of Area 51's brother with BC (Ricky Foley) Ian Hamilton- When the Roughriders fall behind, they tend to abandon the running game and opponents then can get after quarterback Kevin Glenn. Kevin Glenn starts. Glenn had his lowest output of the regular season in that loss — he threw for 186 yards, albeit with a completion percentage of 70.4 — but he was under duress for much of the game thanks to the Lions’ defensive line. ?‍? Jonathon Jennings starts for BC I. Hamilton- The Riders are not getting to opposing quarterbacks enough. Rookie Tobi Antigha is second to Jefferson with two sacks and Antigha and A.C. Leonard are tied for second with six pressures apiece. Saskatchewan entered Week 8 ranked seventh in the league with 11 sacks and ninth in the CFL with 31 pressures. ?‍? Dan Clark out at centre. LaBatte fills in, with T Dennis moving to guard, and Bruce (better late than never) Campbell comes off the reserve list to play tackle. This alone should be worth a look. ?‍? BC, who easily beat Sask. last week, relied on 5 FG attempts...with 4 being made. CFL.ca Staff By The Numbers 3 – Touchdowns for Duron Carter in the Riders past two games. 4 – Minimum catches that Riders receiver Bakari Grant has made each game. He is only one of three players (Winnipeg’s Darvin Adams and Toronto’s Anthony Coombs) that has four of more catches in every game this season. 10 – Number of rushing touchdowns that Travis Lulay and Jeremiah Johnson have combined for this season. They have five touchdowns apiece. 51 – League leading tackles for Solomon Elimimian heading into Week 8. ?‍? The Riders have played well at home so far this year (2-1). Can they prevail today? I doubt it. 71% of polled fans say Lions win. 6/7 CFL writers say Lions win.
  10. Heck no. They're completely different. Carrying the ball invites tackles and if you're not sliding, you're going to get targeted. In blocking, you can have the advantage. I bet you that guy Nichols blocked never expected it. Now, if he did, Nichols might have been left on his can. That play happened in real time. Nichols reacted. It's who he is. I'm going to assume he won't be doing much of that in the future, but if it's for a TD, all bets are off.
  11. Don't mention Hurl in that regard. He was the fourth Bomber on the scene. Heath missed, and Loffler had the biggest flub.
  12. It wasn't an attempted block, it was a block. It worked. Although Nichols didn't 'have to', it shows that he is all in. You don't think Reilly would do the same? He would. They're called leaders. You know, above and beyond... As far as injuries, he could get 'trucked' any time, even avoiding blocks. He was ready, willing and able.
  13. ...... ?‍?Denny's back in town 7 catches! ?‍?That Poop pop wasn't necessary, even though it was a doozy. ?‍?Randle actually stripped the ball on that Collaros play when he sacked...could have been reviewed/challenged. ?‍?Special teams, quick kick, Medlock pulls it off again. What's in store next week? ?‍?Another innovative series that resulted in a "too many men" penalty. We caught them with the hurry up with LeFevour still taking the snap. I'd love to see that more often. ?‍?Loved the block that Nichols threw at the end to help Harris' run. And don't think the players won't notice it in film study ?‍?Ho hum, Medlock against the wind, with wind, just another day, or in this case, Justin another day. ?‍?Adams has the catch of the week this time... ?‍?Gotta love the hustle in Hurl..he really wanted that TD.. ?‍?We made the Roughriders real nervous now.. ?‍?Take it to a credit union, cause that Banks is busted. ?‍?"I’m solely focused on this game and trying to keep pace with the West opponents." - Matt Nichols. Ed Tait - Also worth noting: #Bombers are 9-3 in last 12 road games and the club is 14-5 since @MattNichols16 replaced Drew Willy at QB ?‍?Lankford's mom in the crowd.. Matty Nichols- "don't talk about it, let's be about it." Talk is cheap. ?‍?And Trent Corney has another solid game! ?‍?Emerging with the punt return game...Mr Fogg ?‍?12 yards for the Ticats in the 1st quarter Drew Edwards- #Ticats are giving up 7.7 yards on second down vs. #Bombers while generating 3.4 yards. ?‍?57 yard FG! ?‍?Ah Moe, good to have you back making plays. ?‍?"Year of the Catch" theme song continues...with Darvin Adams ?‍?Brian Walker instead of Bruce Johnson? Yes ?‍?Wonder who the ST player of the week will be? ?‍?Andrew Harris had his first 100-yard rushing game of the season on Saturday, recording 107 yards on fourteen carries. ?‍?There are questions about Collaros now... John Hodge - Matt Nichols has yet to fully shed his ‘game manager’ label (to some, at least), but he’s on pace for some stellar numbers in 2017 — 5,205 passing yards, 34 touchdowns, and ten interceptions. This woukld be the second-best single-season passing yardage total in Blue Bomber history (Khari Jones had 5,334 passing yards in 2002) and tie the great Jack Jacobs for fourth-place in club history for most touchdown passes in a season. Kent Austin’s career head coaching record has dipped below .500 as a result of Saturday’s loss, now sitting at 48-49. Mike O’Shea’s career mark has improved to 28-33 after a rough 13-28 start in Winnipeg. ?‍?Hamilton had only one first down in the first 15 minutes compared to Winnipeg’s nine ?‍?(Matt Nichols 13 TDs 4 int in 7 games) ?‍?Great to see the impact of the D-Line - 5 sacks 11 pressures..on Collaros Love the line by Drew Edwards - For the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, it was death by a thousand Medlocks (and miscues.) Reasonable response from Austin post game http://3downnation.com/2017/08/12/video-austin-collaros-ellis-loss-bombers/ The Numbers - Blue and Gold CFL – Hamilton only had 16 first downs. – Winnipeg had 402 total yards to Hamilton’s 188, and 141 rushing yards to Hamilton’s 31. – Winnipeg only punted the ball 2 times. – Justin Medlock finished 6/7 on his field goal attempts. His lone miss hit the post. – Kevin Fogg averaged 18.2 yards on 4 punt returns for the Bombers. – The Bombers defence had their best game of the season, holding Zach Collaros to 216 passing yards and the Ti-Cats to 31 rushing yards. – No one on the Bombers had more than 4 tackles. – The West Division now has 24 wins compared to the East Division’s 7. ?‍?Nice possession time, better penalty total, and won the turnover battle...good stats. ?‍? Miss the huddle on the sidelines.. ?‍? In my view, LaPolice called another good game.. INTERESTING:
  14. I was wondering the same thing. Another miss by the ref, who was right there. Unamba practically hog tied Adams, but forgot he had two hands, and only needed one. Now that's a challenge we would have won easily..
  15. I'm not worried about 6 FGs in the game last night. That's 18 points. Enough to win us the game last night. I think it's more the fans' reactions than it is the football clubs. "We should have got more TDs in the red zone" kind of thing. And while both Nichols and O'Shea acknowledged that, Nichols did bring up a good point about stalled drives. He said even though every drive doesn't produce a major (my words), having the Bombers move the ball constantly keeps the opposing Offence off the field. He feels sometimes they do play too safe (again, my words), but they don't want to lose points, especially with a kicker like Medlock.
  16. We are so fortunate to have Westerman on our team. He fulfills so may needs. Does he get penalties? Yes, he does. But he is so worth it, it's not even funny. Don't kid yourself, every team in the league would look seriously at Westerman in their lineup and feel good about it.
  17. I really wonder about these posts after an important win against a team with its back against the wall. We won the game, we controlled the play, the ball was spread around. The guys absolutely wanted to win it and win it for Nichols. The thing is, you do not know what any other QB would have done in the same situation, so that point is moot. just celebrate the win...
  18. It wasn't a trap game for the Bombers...it was this For Hamilton.
  19. I would really like the Bombers to de-stripe the Ticats today. Hamilton can just look to another team for their first win. It would put us in a much better position.
  20. He can hire Chris Jones as DC next year. That ought to fix everything...
  21. Did you have to crawl through a forest of deniability and unawareness before you made this comment?
  22. For your perusal.. Game Day CFL Game Notes After losing 8 of 9 meetings dating back to 2012, the Blue Bombers have won the last two games against the Ti-Cats. Matt Nichols led Winnipeg to a 38-11 win on Aug 3/16 to sweep the 2016 season series but Zach Collaros was out for both games. Over the two games, Winnipeg created a 12-2 (+10) edge in Takeaways and won despite being outgained in each contest. Hamilton passed for 702 yards and 4 completions of 30+ yards but threw 5 interceptions in the two games, two by Maurice Leggett and one by Taylor Loffler. Andy Fantuz and Luke Tasker led Hamilton with 14 and 11 catches respectively. Hamilton has played only one game against Eastern rivals thus far. Nichols has now led THREE late 4th Quarter game winning drives in 2017 on top of 5 last year and so has engineered 8 in his last 15 starts. Overall in that stretch of 15 starts he has led Winnipeg to a 10-5 record. Collaros now has a 10-game losing streak as a starter however and the most recent QB to have recorded that was Casey Printers across 2008-09. The CFL record for consecutive starts lost is 13 by Lynn Amedee 1963-64 (EDM). The Tiger-Cats started well this year with 9 QB Sacks and 33 QB Pressures in their first 4 games. Over the last two contests however they have just one Sack and 8 Pressures on the opposing QB. Justin Medlock reaches career game #100 this week and through the first 99 has accumulated 1,036 points (#22 all- time). His career totals cover: TOR 174 pts in 21 GP, HAM 559 pts in 54 GP, WPG 303 pts in 24 GP. Justin has averaged 12.6 points per game for Winnipeg, the highest average of any player in club history ahead of Trevor Kennard (9.8 per game). Last week Hamilton ran the ball just 6 times at Edmonton for a season-low. Their 6 rushing plays matches the lowest by any CFL club since 2008 (Montreal at SSK on Jul 19/08, 5 rushes for 13 yards). Darvin Adams: Has taken over the Winnipeg receiving lead and has made at least 4 receptions in every game this season. Adams, Bakari Grant (SSK) and Anthony Coombs (TOR) are the only players with 4+ catches in every game in 2017. Adams has been targeted 27 times in the last two games and leads the Bombers with 3 TD grabs and 3 receptions of 30+ yards. Despite allowing the fewest QB Pressures in the CFL (28), the Bombers Matt Nichols has been sacked 11 times in the last 3 games pushing the total to 16 for the season (tied for #6). Winnipeg has yet to score a TD this season on any drive where they have allowed a QB Sack. Their TD% when NOT allowing a Sack is 25%, tied for 3rd with Edmonton and behind only Calgary (28%) and BC (27%). The Bombers starting lineup has been the most consistent thus far with only 29 different players having at least one to date. For Winnipeg, 18 of a possible 24 players have made all 6 starts thus far, and 23 players have made at least 4 starts. The Bombers are 9-3 on the road in their last 12 visits around the CFL compared to a 6-6 home mark since the start of 2016. They have had at least an even or better road than home record in 5 of the last 7 seasons. Receiver T.J. Thorpe will get his fourth straight start since coming off the practice roster. The 24-year-old has quickly become one of Nichols’ favourite marks, averaging almost nine targets a game and has caught 20 of 26 passes thrown in his direction. Zach Collaros had his best game of the season last week, throwing for 282 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Receiver Damarr Aultman had a team high 74 yards and a touchdown in his CFL debut. The Ticats rank last in the CFL in points and yards allowed per game. Numbers - 4 – League leading interceptions for Bombers defensive back T.J. Heath. 5 – Quarterback sacks by Jamaal Westerman, tied for fourth in the league. 487 – Average total yards the Ticats defence has given up through six games this, ranking last in the league heading into Week 8.
  23. Watching this game is like watching the Bombers, in their recent past, playing the Bombers from their recent past..
  24. What about Montreal? Saskatchewan? Hell, Saskatchewan again? The bye? Ottawa? Edmonton? The 2nd Hamilton game?(we haven't even played them yet) BC? Toronto? BC? Calgary? Can't we just talk about the game at hand?
