It 'seams' he's doing alright. 821 yards over 31 returns in 7 games for an average of 26.5 yards a return. That average is good for 2nd overall, behind only Chris Edwards who has 13 returns. I'd say he's doing pretty good..so take it back. ?

People complain about bout only getting FGs but Medlock was able to kick 4 FGs after the Bomber offence first had drives of 45 yards, 59 yards, 43, and 43 again. That's an offence moving the ball. Besides the fact Hamilton didn't have the ball during these drives, those points were enough for a tie right there.

If it's one thing I've learned over the years is to never underestimate Coah Wally Buono, nor GM Wally Buono. He knows this game. He knows talent and he can definitely read a room. Hence, prior to yesterday's game, he felt 'not so good vibes' emanating from the locker room. He didn't abdicate responsibility to try and change the mood, he relied on a proven veteran, that the players respect, to try and get them out of that funk. It didn't work. It will in the future. The Lions biggest problem was falling into that trap of not being mentally ready, and it all started with their own QB. No way was Jennings ready, mentally or physically for that game, and the team followed his poor direction. They couldn't match the Riders intensity in any way, shape, or form. Lulay, if he was healthy, would have fared better, as he is way more experienced in playing against the odds. Jennings is not mentallly tough enough yet. I don't know if he will get there either. So, it was no contest, because the Riders were ready, and played a solid game, and the Lions were always chasing and didn't make any plays. When your QBs can't make plays, you're in trouble. And the Lions had a heap of that yesterday.

Heck no. They're completely different. Carrying the ball invites tackles and if you're not sliding, you're going to get targeted. In blocking, you can have the advantage. I was wondering the same thing. Another miss by the ref, who was right there. Unamba practically hog tied Adams, but forgot he had two hands, and only needed one. Now that's a challenge we would have won easily..

I'm not worried about 6 FGs in the game last night. That's 18 points. Enough to win us the game last night. I think it's more the fans' reactions than it is the football clubs. "We should have got more TDs in the red zone" kind of thing. And while both Nichols and O'Shea acknowledged that, Nichols did bring up a good point about stalled drives. He said even though every drive doesn't produce a major (my words), having the Bombers move the ball constantly keeps the opposing Offence off the field. He feels sometimes they do play too safe (again, my words), but they don't want to lose points, especially with a kicker like Medlock.

We are so fortunate to have Westerman on our team. He fulfills so may needs. Does he get penalties? Yes, he does. But he is so worth it, it's not even funny. Don't kid yourself, every team in the league would look seriously at Westerman in their lineup and feel good about it.

I really wonder about these posts after an important win against a team with its back against the wall. We won the game, we controlled the play, the ball was spread around. The guys absolutely wanted to win it and win it for Nichols. The thing is, you do not know what any other QB would have done in the same situation, so that point is moot. just celebrate the win...

I would really like the Bombers to de-stripe the Ticats today. Hamilton can just look to another team for their first win. It would put us in a much better position.

For your perusal.. Game Day CFL Game Notes After losing 8 of 9 meetings dating back to 2012, the Blue Bombers have won the last two games against the Ti-Cats. Matt Nichols led Winnipeg to a 38-11 win on Aug 3/16 to sweep the 2016 season series but Zach Collaros was out for both games. Over the two games, Winnipeg created a 12-2 (+10) edge in Takeaways and won despite being outgained in each contest. Hamilton passed for 702 yards and 4 completions of 30+ yards but threw 5 interceptions in the two games, two by Maurice Leggett and one by Taylor Loffler. Andy Fantuz and Luke Tasker led Hamilton with 14 and 11 catches respectively. Hamilton has played only one game against Eastern rivals thus far. Nichols has now led THREE late 4th Quarter game winning drives in 2017 on top of 5 last year and so has engineered 8 in his last 15 starts. Overall in that stretch of 15 starts he has led Winnipeg to a 10-5 record. Collaros now has a 10-game losing streak as a starter however and the most recent QB to have recorded that was Casey Printers across 2008-09. The CFL record for consecutive starts lost is 13 by Lynn Amedee 1963-64 (EDM). The Tiger-Cats started well this year with 9 QB Sacks and 33 QB Pressures in their first 4 games. Over the last two contests however they have just one Sack and 8 Pressures on the opposing QB. Justin Medlock reaches career game #100 this week and through the first 99 has accumulated 1,036 points (#22 all- time). His career totals cover: TOR 174 pts in 21 GP, HAM 559 pts in 54 GP, WPG 303 pts in 24 GP. Justin has averaged 12.6 points per game for Winnipeg, the highest average of any player in club history ahead of Trevor Kennard (9.8 per game). Last week Hamilton ran the ball just 6 times at Edmonton for a season-low. Their 6 rushing plays matches the lowest by any CFL club since 2008 (Montreal at SSK on Jul 19/08, 5 rushes for 13 yards). Darvin Adams: Has taken over the Winnipeg receiving lead and has made at least 4 receptions in every game this season. Adams, Bakari Grant (SSK) and Anthony Coombs (TOR) are the only players with 4+ catches in every game in 2017. Adams has been targeted 27 times in the last two games and leads the Bombers with 3 TD grabs and 3 receptions of 30+ yards. Despite allowing the fewest QB Pressures in the CFL (28), the Bombers Matt Nichols has been sacked 11 times in the last 3 games pushing the total to 16 for the season (tied for #6).
