Your wish is your Command...Centre, and to that... This is, in fact, the more appropriate decision..

It's bad enough we have one Jones in the league as HC, now we purportedly have another one on the way. It's gonna be hard to keep up with these guys.. -
You've got it backwards, it's the preachers that are animate. They're well known to be intense..

Once again, officiating in this league, and every other league, will never satisfy the common fan. No two fans can always agree on a particular call on the field. Is the bloody ref always wrong in that split second decision he makes that irritates the fans?? But the real problem was focusing on reviews that were supposed to correct questionable calls, and most people feel that didn't happen. Look at what's happening right here on this board. There is no consensus on the merits of this League call. Some approve, some hate it. Kind of reminds me of real games where the concensus on on-field calls and reviews are split a lot of the time. Personally, I'm glad they didn't wait until next year to "take a look" at the situation. This is one review they got right. It's at least, moving in the right direction.
-
This is it. Did he make that catch?, was it a fumble? Etc. Doesn't matter. Video review did not always correct those calls...so what's the point? It will be up to the Coaches now to pick and choose their moments and live with their decisions. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping the challenge if the first one was successful. And, by the way, has that actually been established yet, or not? Either way, the League is listening, and by gum, they'll keep shooting themselves in the foot until they get it right. And, in case nobody noticed, the fans are reacting...
-
One of the ongoing problems the review system promoted, unintentionally, was the constant 'fishing' for unrelated calls. This will drastically reduce that. As for the calls on the field and the video reviews by the C'Mon Centre, well, as if that is going to change overnight. You're always going to get iffy calls by the refs, and you're going to get calls that are misconstrued by the Centre, OR by the fans. This change by the League Office doesn't solve every issue, but unlike past administrations, they heard the fans, and talked to the teams involved, and are acting upon a sore spot. There is nothing to say that further remedial action won't be taken in the near future.

NEWS HEADLINE: Randy Gets It Right! The pendulum is swinging back to saner proceedings. Put away your ipads everyone and focus on the game at hand. That's the message I get from this. Well done!

I don't see the relationship between what Duron Carter said, and the the 'twisting' of what he said into sensationalism. It was Rider mega fan Rod Pedersen who used those exact words. He is their media. And how is it what he said not 'sensational'? For Carter to even bring up that boast reeks of immaturity. It's simply not professional. No, Carter brings whatever heat that comes his way onto himself. Trouble is, he can't always handle it... -

Well...back to normal (ab?) for Carter, and his mouth... Chris Jones unimpressed by Carter’s boast to media that he hopes to top The Catch w/ behind-the-back TD in weeks ahead. - @rodpedersen #CFL -

That must mean you'll be doing us the service of beating yourselves? Rip-roaring funny prose you offer. Kind of like saying Kevin Glenn will continue his stellar play. Kevin Glenn. By beating Hamilton and Johnny Sears, you have lifted the level of your play to that of your tallest two-story building in Regina. One, where the AC works for EVERYONE. But I'll take our pros over your prose, so we'll see you in 4 weeks? Oh, and have fun in BC.. -

We currently sit 2nd in kickoff return average, and 3rd in punt return average. Ottawa happens to be 8th in kickoff return average. Ryan Lankford currently sits in 1st place KR with an average of 27.3 and he fit in nicely in the last game in a position he MADE himself familiar with. This was according to Matt Nichols. He's doing what he has to do to stay on the roster. Would the exchange (McDuffie for Lankford) really have been worth it? -
More promising good news...

Fairly good news?!?

.........And now you have..

Now that's more like it.. Starters and backups... However, it seems Dressler is a doubtful...

AFTER WEEK 6 Bye - Ottawa Derek Taylor - A CFL season-high 23 missed tackles in the Bombers-Als game Friday night. 7 alone on the Bomber's two drives to win.#Details -2 TDs in the 4thQ were the first TDs scored by the Bombers in a 4Q this year. Dave a Campbell CHED - Eskimos with 3 sacks and 11 QBP's, pressured Lulay at a rate of 57%. Lions with 1 sack and 4 QBP's, Reilly pressured only 15% of the time. 3downnation - During the second quarter against B.C., Reilly threw a perfect pass to Vidal Hazelton who took it the rest of the way for a 108-yard touchdown. That was the longest completion of Reilly’s career and furthest in the CFL this season. ?? Looks to me that we signed the wrong receiver last year…Gurley over Hazelton ?? 5th round pick Kwaku Boateng is playing pretty good these days… Penalties Down: 15.9 penalties per game, the 2017 average, is the lowest since 2013. ?? Bombers are #1 in points per game! 33.8 EDIT Because Calgary scored 60 points against the Ticats…we're no longer #1 But, due to that same game we're now #2 last in points allowed per game…35.8 Drew Edwards - In 1956, the #Ticats lost 82-14 to #AlsMTL and that 68-point deficit is the worst in team history. They trail by 59 now. #CFL Dave Dawson - For those of you thinking of it, the #CFL records for points scored in a game are 82 (1956), 70 (1990), 68 (90, 91). 2 were vs #Ticats. Caretaker Bob Bob Young - Trying to come up with a funny tweet, but humor is hard knowing how frustrated the @Ticats players and coaches are tonight. The West 12 wins 2 losses 1 tie vs the East Calgary Herald - Statement from Randy Ambrosie “I’m aware of the anxiety that was created (Friday) night, and ultimately, what I want to to is sit down at the league office on Monday and use this as a jumping-in point to have a conversation with the teams — what’s working and what isn’t working, and what can we do to improve it,” said Ambrosie, stopping off in Calgary on Saturday night on his nine-city league tour. Ricky Ray posted his sixth consecutive game with the 300+ passing yards. He currently leads the CFL with 2,282 passing yards. Largest margins of victory in CFL history: 68 points – Montreal 82, Hamilton 14 (1956) 60 points – Edmonton 63, Ottawa 3 (1995) 59 points – Calgary 60, Hamilton 1 (2017) 56 points – Winnipeg 58, Montreal 2 (1981) 56 points – Winnipeg 56, Saskatchewan 0 (1986) ?? Owusu-Ansah played a solid game in coverage of Duron Carter on Saturday and yet, Carter managed 9 catches and 131 yards. But really, a few of those catches were magical, and no defender could have prevented them.. ?? Did the Riders take advantage of Toronto injuries to DE Butler, and Cleon Laing by running the ball? You bet your bippy they did. ?? Odd how the AC in the visitor's dressing room was not working on that smouldering day... ?? Johnny Sears decision not to play touch football, and down Bakari Grant, in the 4th Q, cost the Argos the chance for victory. It was that bad a decision. Terry Jones - CFL attendance averages: EDM 33,642, SASK 33,250, WPG 27,063, CGY 27,693, OTT 24,557, HAM 23,833, BC 20,096, MTL 19,155, TOR 13,534. CFL - Mike O'Shea & Russ Jackson share a unique distinction. They are the only M/O ??ian recipients to also be #CFL head coaches. #Canada150 Unofficial, but a good read in how the Alouettes attacked our defence. It will,at least, give you a different perspective. Okay, okay, I have to back peddle a bit as I rethink my opinion on Duron Carter. This article in 3downnation has grabbed my attention and re-focused my thinking. Anybody who focuses their thoughts and kindness as Carter showed in this article is alright with me..(mostly) Headline - Duron Carter gives ball from spectacular TD catch to young cancer survivor http://3downnation.com/2017/07/30/duron-carter-gives-ball-spectacular-td-catch-young-cancer-survivor/

I had no problem with a scheme with Hurl as MLB as long as the result was beneficial to the overall D play and if it was working. Its not working. But, unfortunately, we know the probability of making a major change is unlikely. Now, maybe, with the LB corps back intact after injuries, our D will be more functional, and at least get us into the playoffs. Then, any thing is possible with this group...

I'm really not a fan of the way Austin has carried himself in the past, but I must give credit when it's due. Austin faced the media after that debacle yesterday, and answered everything thrown at him. It musn't have been easy, and so, a tip of the hat to him this day.. http://3downnation.com/2017/07/30/video-kent-austin-ticats-60-1-loss-stampeders/

Carter can catch..no doubt, but he still makes it all about him. His antics on the field only are accepted if he produces, but even then, Montreal just let him go..That says a lot. Yes, he has talent, but I don't have to like his smarminess. He's a phoney.
