  1. Yeah, I remember distinctly that Rider fans were mocking us heartily for paying Justin Medlock big bucks... Well now, who's crying now?
  2. What about that weird call on Montreal's Blake that negated the Montreal TD? "That's a call I've never heard before." Jovan Olafioye on Phil Blake penalty that negated Tyrell Sutton TD #AlsMTL "A player can be pushed in, but not pulled in" Blake says he was "off balance".
  3. R. Ray whipping J. Jennings 61.1% to 60% BC rushing 7 times Toronto 4 BC 232 Tor. 142 total offence 3 BC penalties to 4 TO. 3 BC sacks 4 for Toronto. Where are all the big plays? Too much pressure on the QBs?
  4.  2014-2016 - zero home wins: There is likely no more unusual CFL matchup over the last three years than the Argos and Lions. NO home team has won a game in this head-to-head series across 2014 to 2016 and all three series have been split in this way over the last three years. The Argonauts dressed 22 players last week who were playing their first game for Double Blue - exactly half of the game roster. Of those, 10 were making their overall CFL debut. The Lions made just one sack in Week #1 along with only two QB Pressures. Their opponent pressured Jonathon Jennings consistently recording a CFL-best 5 Sacks and 9 QB Pressures - a total of 14 against BC QBs. The Argos led the CFL in Week #1 holding the opposition to league-wide lows in yards gained (221), points (15), offensive points (9), first downs (12), yards rushing (16) and 2nd down conversions (24%). Lirim Hajrullahu: Led all CFL scorers last week with 18 points and attempted a career-high 8 field goal attempts. He did miss three however on the way to 5 FGs made, one short of his career of 6 set vs BC on Jul 7/16. CFL.ca Passing by range week 1 The most effective range was throwing downfield beyond 15 yards with a 114.2 mark on 23% of the total number of throws. The completions rate dropped to just 41.7% when throwing downfield 15+ yards but ... the payoff was enormous with 6 TDs and a pass efficiency rating of 114.2. Performer of the Week: Ricky Ray Ray's 12 attempts with the receiver deeper than 15 yards downfield gained 27.3 yards per attempt on 75% accuracy; that compares to 28-of-53 by all other CFL QBs last week in that range, with just a 53% completion rate and 12.6 yards per attempt. Interceptions: There were only three INTs in Week #1 for a % rate of less than 1% (0.96). That compares to the interception rate of 2.3% last year - by far the lowest in CFL history. First 3 games of 2017 - 4 point spread: The first three games of the season were decided (or not) by margins of 1, 0 and 3 points. That was the lowest cumulative margin in the first three games of any CFL season in our history.
  5. OF COURSE... AND IF IT'S REALLY AGGRAVATING...
  6. No offence but, can they now have a VEILING ceremony of that statue?
  7. No, you look at the stats. That's all you have. That, and that statue of a Free Agent trying to leave the Rider's grasp..
  8. Unconfirmed reports that Chris jones was seen leaving the scene of the unveiling in an agitated state. Something about him muttering in exasperation that the statue wasn't him...
  9. Now these predictions make more sense. From 3downnation: Winnipeg (0-0) at Saskatchewan (0-1) Saturday, July 1, 9 p.m. EST Quarterback Matt Nichols leads Winnipeg into its season opener. The six-foot-two, 220-pound Nichols threw for a career-best 3,666 yards with 18 TDs against nine interceptions in leading the Bombers to an 11-7 record last year and their first playoff berth since 2011. Trouble is, much is expected from Nichols and Co. this season. Saskatchewan is coming off a close loss to Montreal, a game that saw veteran Kevin Glenn complete 31-of-44 passes for 298 yards with a TD and interception. Dunk: New Mosaic will be electric – all the pressure is on the Riders. BOMBERS Hodge: New building or not, the Riders’ roster has too many holes. BOMBERS Gasson: Riders want to set the tone in their new home. RIDERS. Edwards: The Riders will be fired up for this one. Is that a good thing? BOMBERS Smith: If Saskatchewan only wins one game all year, it will be this one. RIDERS Filoso: Winnipeg spoils Mosaic’s grand opening BOMBERS Busby: Bombers are heading into a hornet’s nest. RIDERS Totals: Bombers 4 Riders 3
  10. Game Notes Including last Friday’s 31-31 tie in Ottawa, the REDBLACKS and Stampeders have gone to overtime in three of their last four meetings. Crazy 8’s: REDBLACKS #88 Brad Sinopoli produced 88 yards of offence on 8 receptions in the season opener as he looks to make it a third straight season earning 1000+ receiving yards. Former Stampeders-turned-REDBLACKS linebacker Taylor Reed, who won a Grey Cup with Ottawa last year after being released earlier in the season by Calgary, had eight tackles against his former team last weekend. ?‍?I wouldn't have minded this guy in the lineup.. -Neither team gave up a sack when Calgary and Ottawa met last weekend. On the injury front, Calgary will be without star receiver DaVaris Daniels (neck) and defensive end Ja’Gared Davis. 48.6 – Average punt for Ottawa’s Brett Maher, owner of the CFL’s best mark through Week 1. 88 – Career sacks for Calgary’s Charleston Hughes, who needs two to eclipse Brent Johnson and Brett Williams for No. 13 on the all-time CFL sack-leader list. Word filtered out late Wednesday that Powell would be scratched, while Mossis Madu and Brendan Gillanders are chomping at the bit for touches. The return of Tommie Campbell for Calgary 85% of fans polled pick Calgary to win. 97% of fans polled on MBB pick Calgary Stats - CFL.ca Misc. With his five receptions in Week 1, Montreal Alouette Nik Lewis now has 982 career receptions, just 47 short of tying Canadian Football Hall of Famer Geroy Simon for the all-time CFL lead in receptions (1,029). Farhan Lalji - #BCLions have also released Cdn OL Jeremy Zver and offered him a spot on their PR. Wouldn't be surprised if another team picked him up. #CFL Penalties in Week 1 were down 6.2% from 2016 and 25% from 2015. Rod Peterson - Kevin Glenn @qterback5 says the Riders have "something in store" for Rider fans on Saturday night rodpedersen.com/2017/06/riders… “I can’t wait to go out there and play. I think we’re ready for the moment and I think we will show it,” - Darvin Adams
  11. “We’ve continued to practice running to the ball, stripping the ball. The ball-hawking that we did last year will come. It’s not out of the question that we can’t do it again.” Taylor Lofler (its a confusing way to state his case - but the meaning is there)
  12. Definitely, they were giantuns...
  13. Don't forget - all great minds think a like...
  14. Hmm, how should I put this? Well, In a very loose sense, Chris Jones is to GMs, what Donald Trump is to Presidents...?
  15. Bomber quotes…before the game Matt Nichols- I was obviously more interested in the Saskatchewan game. I’ve already watched their game film 10 times and it’s a long week still ahead for us to continue watching it.” Andrew Harris - “I love playing in hyped situations and when there’s lots of adversity and lots of noise,” Harris said. “I’ve been looking forward to this game more than anything and it’s going to be a great one. Harris believes the closeness of the Blue Bombers players will make them a better team this season. -Their fans are amazing and very loud,” dime back Moe Leggett said. “The stadium is beautiful. It seemed like they waited till we built ours so they could make an upgraded version of ours, but that’s Saskatchewan, right.” http://www.winnipegsun.com/2017/06/27/bombers-believe-bye-gives-them-advantage-over-riders-in-week-1?token=11ece779d11b545ad643fad54fbde77f ?‍?We gotta win that game on Saturday because we are in the position of being the better team. Whatever we do, we cannot drop our level of play downwards. We must have the Riders chasing us all game. I want to see frustration on the faces of the fans and Rider players. We gotta win that game on Saturday, most of all, because I don't want to hear the incessant whining that will surely follow if we should lose. CFL News - revisited The Toronto Argonauts have acquired international all-star receiver S.J. Green from the Montreal Alouettes in exchange for the Argos sixth round selection in the 2017 CFL Draft and a conditional draft pick in 2018. ?‍?It's only been 1 game, but can you say “great gamble” by the Argos? And Green says: Marc Trestman is the best coach I’ve ever had. #CFL #TorontoArgonauts #NaylorandLandsbergintheMorning
  16. Andrew Harris - #NewProfilePic
  17. Oh how I struggled mightily not to change Mr Reynolds use of the word 'is', sleepless nights..not eating, but in the end, I went with accuracy in the quote.
  18. Sam is a guy you want at MLB. Tough as nails and directs traffic extremely well. Guy you want to play with. Ian and Sam are a great combo.
  19. Good lines by Steve Milton, 3downnation on Hamilton’s outing… If the defence was a cereal it’d be Shredded Wheat, If Sunday’s offence was a breakfast cereal, it would be Cream of Wheat: ?‍?Rick Ray went deep (15-plus yards) a dozen times, completing nine, ?‍?After watching the Hamilton-Toronto game, I wonder if Ricky Ray can last a whole season..He wasn't hit often, but when he was, it looked like Monday-Morning-get-out-of-bed-slow. ?‍?Did all the procrastinators forget that the Blue Bomber offence is returning 10 of 12 starters? Expect the #Eskimos to announce the signing of LB Alex Hoffman-Ellis. Should be on the field today. Good move with Sherritt gone. #CFL
