Biggest Rivalry in the CFL: Regina Winnipeg
Mr Dee replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You're right. I'm changing my pick for this week. When asked why, I'll just tell them I got info, info straight from TheSource. -
If you saw the game yesterday, between the Ticats and the Argos, you saw what Zach Collaros is really like when you don't have a) decent blocking and b.) a proper OC, you know, like the Bombers were like not too long ago. So, ask yourselves, would he really have been better here, with the lineup we were putting out in the past?

WEEK ONE BYE - I don't even have to mention who RT .@HerbZurkowsky1 - #AlsMTL have put Ray Drew, Anthony Sarao and QB Matthew Shiltz on one-game IR. Vet DB Ryan Phillips there too #CFL Darrin Bauming - Kevin Fogg getting some strongside linebacker work today. Options there with Carmichael, Alexander, and obviously Leggett. #Bombers Sask. - is the CFL's youngest team at 26.9 avg while MTL is the oldest at 28.4. Also SK has the highest roster turnover with 29 returning players Bob Irving - Medlock boots 58-yard Blue Bomber practice field goal with plenty to spare. Ian Wild says the #Bombers D is keeping things more simple entering the season, to "fine-tune and perfect" what they have system-wise. CFL matters big-time as avg. and total audiences of 851,000 and 2.9 million for mont-sask opener attest. Love it❤️? - Bob Irving On Patrick Neufeld - Jeff Hamilton "He’s one of the most technically sound players I’ve worked with and one of the smartest guys," Bombers centre Matthias Goossen said. "Some people might say they know everything about every position, but Patty actually does know it." "He’s a calming influence because he’s seen it all and been around it and he’s a confident guy, too, which makes him an asset. He’s a guy in the room that will have answers to all the questions," Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea said. Neufeld’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season Herb Zurkowsky - Sorry that I missed this one, but #AlsMTL released NI receiver Devon Bailey on Wednesday. Former Edmonton 1st-round draft choice Week 1 Montreal 17 - 16 over Sask Calgary 31 - Ottawa 31 Edmonton 30 - BC 27 Toronto 32 - Hamilton 15 Calgary was fortunate for a Gillanders fumble..to get back in the game. But that's football.. The Lions also had 151 yards worth of plays called back by penalties, including a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown by Chris Rainey ?? All I can say after the weekend games is...Thank goodness for Justin Medlock ??Get used to it - not exactly the friendliest words chosen to underline the state of affairs in the C’mon Centre. I was automatically going to put Montreal at the bottom of the Eastern standings, but then I saw Hamilton play. “I do not have time to do my work” Collaros to Austin. “We have to get a lot better, a lot of improvement,” Austin said. “And it needs to happen between now and the next game.” ??Hamilton has the bye next week ??the refs weren't a factor in the game ??rushing wasn't a factor in the game 5 QB sacks Tor. 3 for Ham. Great catches ??Not much to say Hamilton wise -Edmonton 5 sacks BC 1 -The RedBlacks are a well Coached team. -Who stumbled less? Durant or Glenn -The Sask-Montreal game wasn't the game of the week. ??Then there's the JC Sherritt injury. It wouldn't be the first time a White has displayed a vowel and a consonant..

The CFL has read the fans wrong when they're talking about replay reviews. The complaints last year, about taking too long for review, were bang on, but the Command Centre is putting the emphasis on the wrong concern. They're so concerned about taking too long to get the right call that they overlook the fact that the fans want them to get the call RIGHT..and not be so concerned if the error was egregious enough to overturn. Just make the right call and everything else will fall in line.

Hamilton at Toronto -Drew Edwards http://3downnation.com/2017/06/24/depth-charts-storylines-heading-ticats-v-argos/ The Ticats have an odd start to the CFL season: a road game, followed by a bye week, followed by a road game. They will also play West Division teams – against whom they went 2-8 last season – for the next six weeks. -defensive backs Abdul Kanneh and Emanuel Davis are out this week. -the Ticats have only listed six Canadian starters which means the team will use multiple combinations on defence to get to seven -the Ticats put Davis, safety Craig Butler, defensive tackle Evan Gill, receiver Giovanni Aprile and quarterback Everett Golson on the 6-game injured list. The Argos will start three former Ticats in the secondary, with Rico Murray, Johnny Sears and Cassius Vaughn all making the move during the off-season. -Quarterback Jeff Mathews is also in Toronto after two years in Hamilton. Former Ticat coach Tommy Condell and linebacker Kevin Eiben are also part of Trestman’s staff. -There are a few former Alouettes as well, including last year’s CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player Bear Woods and defensive tackle Alan-Michael Cash. -Ticats quarterback Zach Collaros had 16 wins against nine losses as a starter in 2014 and 2015; but he was just 3-7 last year. Collaros has missed 14 of a possible 36 starts in the last two seasons. -The Ticats were 1-7 last year when committing more turnovers than their opponents, and 5-2 when they won the take-away battle. -Of the 46-players on the Argos’ opening day roster in 2016, just 20 players remain with the club, while for the Ticats, 28 of 46 return. - ??1st comment after the article asked who was in the Command Centre for this game..?

No sharpness in this game so far. So much for the high scoring shootout I was expecting...

Headlines : Command Centre Gets One Right!

Two for two 2 games played, 2 reviews gone bad C’mon man What we're approaching is the point where the Command Centre (C’mon Centre) is becoming irrelevant. Seriously. What can we expect from here? There are 79 games left in the schedule. How many command centre reviews? How many will be bad? So, what's the point? Do we have to have a review on the reviews? Let me put this straight out there. It's not the refs that are screwing up. They're making the calls they see….right or wrong. Percentages. The Command Centre don't have luxury of percentages. They must get these reviews right. They are failing. C’mon man

Buono: "This is the most athletic secondary we've had in a long time here... Like Banks, Marsh & Phillips, but bigger" #BCLions @CFLonTSN ??Look for Tony Burnett to start at LB and Loucheiz Purifoy at safety tonight for the Lions.. Edmonton has 6 players on the 6 game IR - S. Chambers, Corey Greenwood, Forrest Hightower, Marcus Howard, Colin Kelly and Marcel Young.. Meanwhile, BC has Chris Williams on the 6 game IR but 9 on the one game IR, including K Swayze Waters. The Eskimos - On defense 2016 second round pick Arjen Colquhoun will start at wide corner spot in the secondary giving the Eskimos three Canadian starters including WIL linebacker Adam Konar and safety Neil King. Dave Campbell - Last season the #Eskimos averaged 30.5 points for per game. 3rd highest total in franchise history. #CFL QB Mike Reilly last season led the #CFL in passing yards with 5.554 (career-high). 28 TD's-12 INT's. 12 300 yard passing games. - Lions QB Jonathon Jennings. Led the #CFL in 30+ yard completions with 40 in 2016. League-high 15 INT's. 4th Lions QB to pass for 5,000 yards Mike Reilly has passed for a least one TD in 10 straight regular season games. 17 TD passes in that time span. ??Should expect a high scoring game tonight? The answer is: J. Jennings and Mike Reilly.

I didn't notice it myself because there are so many fine players in the top 50 players in the CFL, but it was pointed out that Marquay McDaniel was left out of the top 50 again. That guy is a prized possession. They should make it the top 51...?

Chris O’Leary (senior writer for the CFL) - I’d pay $ to hear what Durant said to the Riders sideline after the win. Matthew Scianitti (sideline reporter for TSN) - He swore... A LOT

CALGARY AT OTTAWA 7:30 ET No Henry Burris, no Earnest Jackson, no Chris Williams. But, they do have a Trevor Harris. No Cordero Law, no Bakari Grant. But they do have BL Mitchell, probably the most consistent QB in the league. The RedBlacks are coming off an 8-9-1 record and the Stamps had a record of 15-2-1 Ottawa should have an easier time to maintain that record than Calgary will with theirs… I expect Khalil Bass to once again, be chasing Jerome Messam, rather than stopping him close to the line of scrimmage… And the question for me is..will Harris be able to maintain a high degree of efficiency in leading this RedBlack team? OF NOTE: Charlton Hughes has 88 sacks.. Jerome Messam - Has 4,468 career rushing yards and is only 532 away from 5,000 The CFL season opens with the previous SEVEN Grey Cups having been won by SEVEN different teams Calgary to win? Yes

Regular Season - Bomber News, Developments & Speculation

A great start for marketing...

Well, as long as you put in a pretty good effort...

Yes, #Roughriders lose because the field-goal kicker misses, but why did #ChrisJones remove his starting QB in the red zone. Dumb call. #CFL ??Ah, can we say it was a bad game for Duron Carter? Didn't see much difference between Durant and Glenn…Glenn would have got the edge ‘cept for the int. and should-have-been-int. Glenn did just enough to not win. Steady. Would Durant have won that game for the Riders? Can't see the difference it would have made. Jovon Johnson played the best I've seen him play in quite a while.. That Mincy guy had a good game. I've never seen Demski have a better game…save for that one rookieish catch and lose yards play… What the hell was that clock management at the end of the game? Ah, about that flag rule, where you wick the flag, and it's a dead ball? Didn't know that. Rust leads to frustration. Some frustration from some players out there. But if you take the word rust out of it, that leaves fration, and that in itself, is crazy… Bede's eyes and FG kicking…just don't go together. The East is 1 up over the West - Last in the East over last in the West? In the "I feel bad for the guy department". Travis Hawkin’s tremendous effort to strip the ball off Bakari Grant at the goal line was negated by an iffy call by the c’mon centre. Is Father Time finally catching up with a Chip Cox. Seemed always a step behind to me. ?? Duron Carter had more yards on a punt return than he did all game as a receiver. He was targeted 9 times and had 2 catches for 12 yards… Cameron Marshall looked strong, running for 84 yards on 11 carries. Look for Cameron to have fewer plays called in their next game…due to Coaching For me the Play of the game - Durant finding BJ Cunningham for a 65 TD.. Nic Lewis - still doing it for the Alouettes. Alex Pierzchalski, the much un-sought-after National receiver did a credible job of filling in for Sam Giguere 401-332 total yards in favour of Sask. 103-99 rushing for Sask. Efficiency Sask - 83.42% Mont. - 108.67% Sask. 12 penalties to 7 for the Alouettes. That's what both TSN and CFL.ca are reporting. I don't know where Jones gets 21 penalties from. Of course, I don't get where he gets most of his thoughts from... 1 QB sack on Glenn 21 to 8 No, not a score, but rather, what the clock started at and finished at, before a time out was called. Go figure. Seems nobody else figured.. It was the Riders 36th loss in the last 46 meaningful games (Rob Vanstone)
-
Okay, I'm going to review this post. Ive looked at it for a solid 20 seconds and I see you didn't capitalize the 1st letter, that's a penalty right there. But I won't call it, because it wasn't originally called out. However, the word judgment has no 'e' in it, therefore you will be penalized. I'll leave it up to the moderators to move your posts ten yards back.. Prepare to suffer...like CFL fans all over the country.
-
Slowly, but surely, I'm beginning to agree wholeheartedly with this. Replay review is there for a reason...to get the call right. When that doesn't happen, (more times than I care to see) then what is the point? I mean what is the bloody point?
-
Somebody, in the c'mon centre, decided that the ball ? touched the goal line in that split-millionth-second view, over the vast majority of viewers, who, imo, saw it as a fumble. EDIT - the command centre later stating that while the ball was moving, it was not clearly out of possession prior to breaking the front plane of the goal line. EDITIONALLY - Did I mention I hate that ruling of a TD scored when breaking the plane of the goal line when the ball is fumbled or dropped - should have to have possession in my opinion.
-
I feel no satisfaction in this loss for Saskatchewan. not true.......not true at all.

IT WAS JUST ANOTHER GAME,

Correct!

I think he's still referring to the group of sad sacks employed on defence...
