Herb Zurkowsky According to #AlsMTL GM Kavis Reed, negotiations between he and the agent for free-agent QB Josh Freeman have stopped Further to that... The Ottawa Redblacks have added former NFL quarterback Josh Freeman to their negotiation list on Saturday, June 17, per sources. That comes after the 29-year-old was worked out by the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday and spotted at the Alouettes final pre-season game on Thursday night. The move is a clear attempt by the Redblacks to keep Freeman from signing in Montreal. All’s fair in love, war, and the neg list. -

Loose ends before the cut down massacre... ??The Blue Bombers are still missing 3 important letters on their roster… ??It sure seems to me that The Bombers got a lot of things right on Thursday.. The QB rotation provided Nichols with enough reps to get a real good feel for his game, and the backups finally got enough reps to show what they can do. The O-Line roasted enough to try different combos, and we learned Bond doesn't look like he can handle centre. Receivers came, receivers went. Not enough for my curiosity, but enough for LaPo. The running game looks to be dynamic. Big ✔️ there The defence, on the other hand... Rod Pedersen I played 70 guys because I didn't want to get our A-guys beat up going into a short week. We're not as bad as the score indicates. I don't put stock into preseason scores." - Chris Jones One who won't be around for the Lions is linebacker Jason Arakgi. The CFL's all-time leader in special teams tackles with 194 informed his teammates after the game that he's accepted a job in medical sales and will be retiring after nine seasons. 3downnation On BC being penalized twice in a row after sacking the QB "In his first game of his third season, Roh found out political correctness has been redefined to the absurd. Roh was penalized following sacks on successive plays and vowed to ask the league and CFLPA why the move was suddenly disallowed." Boris Velcic, a league supervisor, told reporters that Roh was flagged for simulating the use of a weapon ??It's up to the league and CFLPA to figure this out but, for Roy to get penalized and then do the same thing again, right in front of the Ref is shake-head worthy… ??There were a total of 9 sacks in that game…5 by the Riders Eskimos - From the 85 players listed on their roster, the Eskimos must trim down to an active roster of 46, as well as 10 practice-squad players and anyone with injuries carrying over to the regular season. - Edmonton Journal Quote - “We’ve been saying it our whole camp, I feel like this is one of the deepest camps I’ve seen and I’ve been around football for 16, 17 years in the CFL,” said Eskimos head coach Jason Maas. ??the Toronto Argonauts scored 23 unanswered points to beat Hamilton 23-16 in their preseason finale Friday night at Tim Hortons Field. Cameron Marshall and Anthony Allen are competing for the starting RB role, but didn’t have many opportunities to showcase their talents. Marshall had two carries for two yards and Allen rushed once for six yards, adding a catch for five yards. -Leader post ??Yikes, not a great chance for an audition… ??Head scratching time - Drew Willy did not play the last pre-season game last night, but three other QBs did - J. Matthews, D. Prukop, and M. Betal-Thompson Does that mean Willy is safe at second? -

What's interesting is why the main men...Ray and Willy aren't getting reps in this, their last pre-season game. I expect Matthews and Fajardo to get the second half.. Only 9 penalties in a half....different refs I like the way we rotated QBs over two games. -

Not to belittle a point...but it's 26 years Dont throw us to the dogs just yet... -
Onside - being down 17-3 on your own home field is never good. Coming back to tie the game is great, and what I do want to see. Offside - 34 penalties in the game? C’mon refs. Nobody wants to see marginal calls. Onside - the Quarterbacks play. I can't remember when we've shown more than 1 QB having a decent game…never mind 3 Offside - letting the Eskimos back in the game - even with help from the refs. Onside - 489 yards offence Offside - allowing 455 yards offence Onside - 17 rushing attempts…for 134 yards and 3 TDs. A 7.9 average Offside - allowing 150 yards and 3 TDs. A 5.8 average Onside - Passing efficiency 130.06% whoa. 80% 28/35 and 355 yards Onside - we out punted them, we out kick-offed them? Onside - we seemed to be excellent on Special Teams..

Well, if he didn't play much, so much for the use of Hurl as as an NI to specifically get Johnson into the game - which is what I thought was the plan, and the excuse to play Hurl...

"PLAY FOR THE T"

Nichols..earning the role, and showing it. Harris - all that was ever promised, and possibly more. The PI flag - definetly, at least the 3rd ⭐️ But really, quite a different feeling having 3 capable QBs. I like the feeling.
-
Let's see the push and shove from the Bombers. Punk them Eskimos. FOR THE W! The new campaign... FOR THE T!

These are all significant upgrades to add to the overall experience of attending a game. VIEWING DECKS - Grab and gab and watch the game ✔️ FOOD COMBOS - Bravo! It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg ✔️ GAME SCREEN - At last making the best use of a huge screen ✔️ NEW TRANSIT CORRIDOR - This should help significantly with traffic flow ✔️ Bravo to Wade Miller and staff, for striving to continue to heighten game days!

Just some observations... ??It seems to me the Bombers have perfected the "catch the punt...return the punt for a TD...and have it called back because of a penalty scenario" to a tee. - Stop it! ??Just read the Nate Behar non-signing with Edmonton. His agent is J. Hardaway. Edmonton has just reduced their offer by $20,000. Their initial offer matched what BC paid Vandervoort… ??That Jason Maas is an odd egg, inint he? Leaving so many vets behind..Reilly, his starter won't play. Most of the O-Line won't play. No matter the outcome the Bombers can't win… -
Here's watching you... JEFFREY JEFFCOAT de - Havoc....create it. We can always use another JJ on the team ROC CARMICHAEL lb - apparently, this spot is yours to lose...show us why CORY JOHNSON dt - storm troop and cause that confusion that will disrupt any o-line BRANDON ALEXANDER cb - "get your motor running" ROBERT PORTER db - Make them throw away from you...again JUSTICE LIGGINS, DANIEL WILLIAMS, L'DAMIAN WASHINGTON rec - give us that extraordinary receiver we've been patiently waiting for. Remember - "it's better to receive than give"

Worst among playoff teams? Not so. SEMIS WPG - 459 yards 42 first downs L BC - 522 yards 56 first downs W Edm. - 332 yards 40 first downs W Ham. - 323 yards 33 first downs L FINALS Edm. - 406 yards 37 first downs L Ottawa - 425 yards 45 first downs W BC - 373 yards 38 first downs L Calgary - 531 yards 48 first downs W Out of these 8 playoff games, I have us #3 in offence...Our defence harmed us more. -
Absolutely. I believe the Bombers have identified weaknesses in the defence of yesteryear and have targeted areas to improve the overall play. More man, better rush, etc. If you can offer up a more complete package of defensive players, keeping in mind our ratio, and it improves our defence, that is all I'm interested in seeing. They've identified weaknesses, now we'll see if we fixed them..

Fair, but then if he has 2 consecutive years where he averages out, either through play or injury irrelevance, does that count against him? Durant? Collaras? Reilly? Are they tumbling out of top tier or all is forgiven? What about team performance? Would BLM be that star in Saskatchewan? Or Montreal? More likely, each year will present new challenges and injury-avoidance to better slot any QB where, we the fans, determine who is deserving of our high fives...
