  1. Section 8 for me..but that's not necessarily by choice...
  2. A short review of the Bomber draft class, who is this review, came in second only to BC in hitting the marks in this year's draft.. "The Bombers added a possible day-one starter in Faith Ekakitie along with two of the best offensive linemen in the draft in Manitoba’s Geoff Gray and McGill’s Qadr Spooner. There is risk associated with the Gray pick – he recently signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent – but his selection at eight could end up being the best pick in the draft if he becomes a Bomber at some point over the next two to three years. Abubakkar Conteh is seen as arguably the best safety of the class, providing instant depth behind sophomore phenom Taylor Loffler. Menard-Briere could end up being an excellent CFL punter, while Ian Marouf is said to have high-round talent if he commits to a higher level of film study and training. What holds Winnipeg’s draft class out of the top spot is the lack of a solid receiver prospect. With UBC’s Alex Morrison on the board until the fourth round, there was ample opportunity for the club to pick up a national pass catcher. They didn’t." http://3downnation.com/2017/05/10/ranking-nine-cfl-draft-classes/ So far Walters has signed 3 of those draft picks, (Ekakitie, Thera-Plamondon and Conteh) and he only has a little over a week, to get the rest under contract before the rookies report, May 24th. Walters - “A lot of this draft class, realistically, is about us looking at improving the bottom end of our roster and practice roster guys, truth be told,” “We’re willing to take some draft picks on guys we really don’t need to come in this year and help us win football games. But let’s develop them for a year and see where they’re at.” You look at your roster and you want to be able to draft guys who have a chance to make your team,” said Walters. “Guys with potential and higher upside… that’s what we targeted and we can be patient with these guys knowing we’re not expecting these guys to come in and start. Darrin Bauming - What I'm told about #Bombers QB prospect Austin Apodaca. "Has a huge arm and is really mobile. I think his game really fits the CFL." Edit - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed National receiver Tylor Henry and National defensive lineman Ian Marouf. Both were selected by Winnipeg in the 2017 CFL Draft. 5 down, three to go Double edit -#Bombers' 34th-overall pick Felix Menard-Briere was not offered a contract by the NY Giants following their recent minicamp, per report. - Bauming
  3. They do have to come up for air once in a while. What with, what seems to be weekly, Jone's missteps and transgressions. I'm interested to see if a weekly newsletter will be put out to deal exclusively with his continuing deeds. Seems this song would have been appropriate.... ME AND MR JONES The Riders and Mr. JonesThey've got a thing goin'onThey both know that it's wrongBut it's much too strongTo let it go now They meet every day at the internet cafeSix-thirty and no one knows he'll be thereFlipping coins and making all kinds of plansWhile the juke box plays his favourite songs The fans gotta be extra carefulThat they don't build their hopes up too highBecause he ignores his obligationsAnd the fans turn a blind eye. The Riders and Mr. Jones They've got a thing goin'on They both know that it's wrong But Mr Jones, he don't care If he let's the fans down (With apologies to the original writers of this song...)

  5. ?‍?Edmonton Eskimos have a new OC this year in Carson Walch. A former All-American running back, returner and receiver at Winona State back in the late ’90s, Walch joined Jason Maas’ staff for his second Canadian Football League stint in 2016 as the receivers coach and passing game coordinator. This off-season, Walch has taken over Maas’ role as the OC. - Jeff Krever CFL.ca ?‍?This isn't big time news, other than Maas relinquishing those duties, but Walch uses a 'grading' system. Walch gives his receivers grade sheets after every game and practice. No. 4 (Bowman) remembers going off for 185 yards on 10 catches in a win over Winnipeg last season, then receiving a 76 — a C+ by the American grading system. "He’s disciplined, he’s organized, a great teacher, a communicator,” said Maas, entering his second season as a head coach. “He is fiery and he gets people’s attention when he speaks.” Maas will still have plenty of say in the Eskimos’ offence this year but Walch will assume play-calling duties. For Maas, a former CFL quarterback who is familiar with climbing the ranks from coaching receivers and quarterbacks to becoming an offensive coordinator, calling plays is critical to the job. Carson, he ain’t gonna yell at you. He’s going to hand you the paper and if you ask him a question, he’s going to tell you why. But I like him a lot. Having coaches like that is how you make it to the championship. - Bowman ?‍?Personally, I give that system of grading players, an EE. http://www.cfl.ca/2017/05/10/making-grade-no-easy-esks-new-oc/
  6. Anxious to see who else the Bombers bring in for QB depth. We should get that announcement any time. Perhaps we could get a word of advice from the QB locator - Mr #noqbiwontlookat Jones.
  7. RHÉANNE M. WINNIPEG, MB., May 11, 2017 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has invited Winnipeg Rifles wide receivers Xander Tachinski (#73) and Brendan Naujoks (#74), running back Michael Ritchott (#76), and defensive back Andrew Ricard (#77) to take part in the club’s three-day rookie camp commencing Wednesday, May 24. The players will continue with the team through the first part of the main training camp. Tachinski and Ritchott attended part of last season’s rookie camp, and most recently played in their third and fourth years with the Rifles, respectively. Naujoks and Ricard have both spent three seasons with the Rifles. “The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have continued to try to invest in the growth of younger football players within Manitoba,” said General Manager Kyle Walters. “This will be a great experience for all of them to be on the field with professional players, and to continue to grow as athletes.” Quarterbacks and CFL newcomers will report to Winnipeg and will be on the field for the opening of rookie camp on Wednesday, May 24th. Veterans report on May 26th and will begin practicing on May 28th. The Blue Bombers will play two pre-season games: June 10th at Mosaic Stadium in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and June 15th at Investors Group Field against the Edmonton Eskimos.
  8. You do have to be careful when looking at organic food labelling, but when you find a source, make sure it is certified organic and available from a reputable store or service. There are strict guidelines as to what can be labelled certified organic and the growth of 'health food stores' helps, somewhat, in taking the guesswork out of it. Private sources may be different, of course, so vigilance is important. signed - organically fed, Mr Dee
  9. Yeah, Justin Cole "was fake bruh, lame as s**t" But, aside from tweets, I could never get excited about this guy, or whoever played that position last year...
  10. Keep up the good work guys. There is nothing to be laughed at when changing one's dietary choices. How one chooses to eat is definitely a personal decision. And with a wealth of information out there, there should be no "I didn't know any better" claims. When I was a kid I ate what was fed to me, like it or not. But, there were no warnings of less sugar and there were far less processed foods laying claim to our eating patterns. Now we know know what is potentially killing us. GMO foods. Insecticide-laced produce from foreign countries, and even our own country. Modified foods. Chemically laced drinks and foods. "Our bodies are designed to operate on a lower amount of carbohydrates than what we’re used to eating, so less carbs isn’t an issue. When there is an absence of carbs (which is how we’re USED to operating), our body will take stored fat and burn THAT for energy in a process called ketogenesis." You can get carbs from vegetables, sweet potatoes and fruit. So, I urge people to respect their bodies and avoid sugars, grains and especially processed foods. As Spock would say "Live long and prosper".
  11. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT.... - DE Alex Bazzie signed with the Carolina Panthers yesterday. Former #BCLions had recently been cut by the #Colts @CFLonTSN By the way, remember who had the #Bombers taking Ekakitie two months ago? Oh yeah -- @JDunk12. #CFL Joe Mack’s final draft class as the general manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers may be the CFL’s worst of the past decade. SNIPPETS... "The thought process was Geoff’s going to develop in the NFL. We’ll take the chance, it’s worth the risk for us,” said Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters. "We had multiple offers on the table, but we took the one from Calgary and thought that was the best." By the time the eight rounds had come to a close, the Blue Bombers had added eight players to their Canadian prospect pool, two offensive linemen, two defensive linemen, two receivers, a free safety and a punter. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2017/05/08/blue-bombers-draft-capsules?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+BlueBombersStories+(Winnipeg+Sun+B) On Montreal kicker Felix Menard-Briere, fourth round, 34th overall: Drafting the best kicker in the draft doesn’t count as a training camp roster spot. He’s a stronger punter right now in his development than a field goal kicker and if Justin ever needs a break it would be from the punting, not the field goal kicking, so it’s a nice fit for us from a training camp perspective. He has another year of eligibility left so it’s a nice way to bring him in and evaluate him.” On Guelph DL Ian Marouf, sixth round, 50th overall: I’m quite confident if he had stayed and played four years of CIS football he would have been a very high draft pick.” On McGill OL Qadr Spooner, second round, 15th overall: “We liked him a lot. What we value on the offensive line is a physical toughness and Qadr has that. He was the most aggressive, meanest offensive lineman in the draft On Calgary receiver Brendan Thera-Plamondo, seventh round, 59th overall: “He is a receiver at Calgary and a very good long snapper as well, which is one of the reasons that we brought him in. On Alberta receiver Tylor Henry, eighth round, 68th overall: Tylor Henry is just a speed guy, big play guy and we’ll see how he does, On Grambling State DB Abubakarr Conteh, third round, 23rd overall: He was quite an unknown but when you watched his film there’s something a little bit different about the way he looks and the way he moves http://www.winnipegsun.com/2017/05/08/bomber-able-to-draft-three-of-their-top-five-picks?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+BlueBombersStories+(Winnipeg+Sun+B) AND http://www.cfl.ca/2017/05/07/team-team-look-2017-cfl-draft/ ?‍?Everybody's heard about the end zone repairs at the IGF field over the off season. TORONTO – The Canadian Football League (CFL) is once again hosting a series of season preview conference calls this year to give media access to each team ahead of the kickoff for the 2017 CFL season. 12. I still haven't seen where the CFL is involved. "Plans for a Canadian Premier League were approved by the country's soccer leaders this weekend, with founding cities announced for Hamilton and Winnipeg. The league was officially unveiled at the Canadian Soccer Association's annual meeting, which also saw Steve Reed elected as president. Though only two teams were initially revealed, Canada Soccer said they have heard from 10 cities interested in joining an all-Canadian league, with aims to begin playing as early as 2018." http://www.espnfc.us/canada/story/3122014/plans-for-new-canadian-premier-league-approved
  13. That's funny Jpan. I was just putting together those very same thoughts... It's interesting to read what Nic Lewis has been tweeting. He understands that NI receivers are grossly under-coached. He mentions that CIS coaches want to win. Coaching the proper way comes second. If a receiver can beat most defenders by running simple routes, then that's what they do. Here's some samples... Nic -"I told cfl combine these players aren't ready coming from CIS schools. Coaches don't get paid to make them better, get paid to win." "They need to let me put together my team to get them prepped and ready for combine. Then draft." "If I'm. A CIS coach and have a 6'5 wr against a 5'8 DB, what u think I'm. About to do all day. Not teach him how to run a slant" "I've been in training camp 13 yrs with Canadian wr rookies. Brett Ralph might be the best one I've seen. That was 11 yrs ago"
  14. I wasn't aware the CFL was involved. As far as I know there is an ownership group in Hamilton that is involved but that's the only connection I can find. But, really why not get involved in a new league? Soccer fans have a passion that rivals hockey and football in this country. The Bombers are wise to check out a situation that might help them pay bills by filling as many open dates in the Stadium as possible. Revenue. People want to see the IGF financial situation improve. This is just another way to achieve that goal ?. Nothing ventured....
  15. I can't wait until next year's draft. I'm already anxious to see what Walters and company, can pull off then. I really appreciate the time and thought these guys put into building a roster with the present, and future in mind. This draft shows me that they've tried to cover a lot of ground in the way they've pieced together their choices. Getting 3 out of 5 of your top picks hits the mark for me. It doesn't matter that their board isn't comparable to other team's boards. Each team has to address their own needs. Getting a starter, and some depth on the O-Line, some athleticism, and some possible future positional players (kicker) ticks off a lot of boxes and shows us they have a lot of confidence in who they have already. Some references have already given the Bombers a top 3 rating for their drafting this year. That also hits the mark for me. So, kudos to the scouts for their input and helping build a roster that allows the GM to add to the talent...not reach for the 'Pencer Picks'.
  16. Don't they have to vote Judges in in Texas?
  17. There are how many shades of Gray? This latest revelation does not thrill me, but I might take him later...much later, certainly not at #6...
  18. Guilty by association? No, I do not see the paths they travel being the same.
  19. If the Bombers are already in contract talks with 'their' guy, it would have to take a hell of an offer to change that, or contract talks break down, or a combination of both. Bomber fans, and everybody else, is itching to see who that guy is...I know I am.
  20. WINNIPEG — Manitoba Bisons quarterback Theo Deezar will get another chance to learn and train with some of the best in the business. For the second year in a row Deezar will attend Winnipeg Blue Bombers camp as part of the CFL-CIS quarterback internship program. 2) - "Canadians are like gold, Americans silver” – has long been a commandment in the Canadian Football League when it comes to piecing together a roster. The Bombers have nailed their last three drafts, with 13 of 20 selections currently on the roster, including starting center Matthias Goossen, guard Sukh Chungh and safety Taylor Loffler. It’s all been part of a roster makeover, particularly with the Canadian talent, that GM Kyle Walters & Co. have undertaken since being handed the keys to the football ops department. 21. Snapdragons?
  22. Shawn Gore earned his way into being recognized as being a very good receiver, and there was more to come. He was just getting into stride. Too bad for health conditions, but he has to do what's best for him in the long run. Losing Gore is a blow for the Lions, but Wally knew there was that possibility, and he will make adjustments. He always does...
  23. He could move to Winnipeg, but he'll have to change his name to Pierre LeBleu...
  24. If you really want to improve your diet, eating habits, and ridding your body of toxins, you should go all out. And that means a wholly organic lifestyle. Get rid of everything that contains GMOs and sugar and anything that has been processed. Your body will then recognize only the good stuff is coming in and it will rid itself of toxins and extra weight that is not needed. My wife has gone from taking 9 pills a day to 1. Myself, I no longer take any pharmaceuticals, as I get what I need from eating healthier. But don't kid yourself...it's expensive. The changeover will cost hundreds of dollars, but then again, the pharmaceuticals have gone way down, and they can be very expensive. I would encourage this lifestyle for everyone. You can eat virtually anything (not breads) and you can abide by the 80-20 rule. Because eating out is often necessary, or even desired, and that's when the 20% kicks in. Even exercising, or stretching, becomes easier, because your body isn't battling the processed junk that is foreign to the human digestive system. And it becomes easier to find good, sourced foods as you go along. Congrats to everybody here who are trying to help their bodies help themselves.
