Looks like a pretty decent schedule other than our week 1 bye. Oh well, we can look forward to watching Darian Durant humble the Riders in the season opener, and then the Bombers silencing the Mosaic home crowd in our season opener. Any way you look at it, the schedule release means one important thing.. Football season is getting closer!

Not similar at all. Playoff hockey can go 3-4-5 extra periods until one team scores. Even in regular games, the shootouts give both teams an equal amount of shots to score. Flipping this comparison around, the NHL should then have a coin toss and if the 1st team that scores wins - game over. Yeah right.

What about the number of great catches by both teams that highlighted what football can be all about? Notably, the sideline catch by Julio Jones and the "keep your eye on the ball" laid out catch by Julian Edelman. "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard"

Actually, it was New England who didn't score in a half, but then needed a Flip Of A Coin to help them win. I really didn't care who won, but to decide a game when only one team gets a chance to score, well I say, "F.O.A.C. that noise".

LaBatte used to live in our apt. complex on Edmonton St. We had made arrangements to switch parking spots because he had a big truck. We brought up the subject of re-signing and he was very guarded. Very. I can't speak to his intent in the long run, but I sure didn't get the feeling he was going to re-sign with the Bombers. There was no excitement and the vibe just wasn't there.

Stability. For the 1st time..in a long time, we appear to have stability in the organization. For the 1st time..in a long time, we can look forward to the upcoming year, without so many question marks. Do we ignore the past? Of course not. But to dwell on it, when things are looking up, is equally unproductive. And it has nothing to do with an individual's own personal bar settings. I don't think the current staff of the WFC have any other thoughts than to set the bar as high as possible...and then try to reach those expectations.

I prefer a game day thread. For different reasons, I usually record the games and watch when able, but I found that in chat, I would find they kicked a FG..before I actually saw them kick a FG.. I wasn't in sync with game time action. So, it's no use me cheering a TD when they're already kicking a convert. Also, I find there is less discussion about the game after discussed in chat..and no record of what was discussed. Somehow, it makes the game seem less important? and the board interest seems lacking...visually. Instantaneous reaction in chat is an attraction and interesting, it just doesn't work for me.

As a Rider fan tends to do... My wording still stands..if you'd rather believe Jones, after 1 year, over Durant, it doesn't bother me in the least.

How the hell do I know how it went down? How does anybody? But I will say this, I would tend to believe a player who's played through all kinds of turmoil for his team, over an egotist who really doesn't care who his players are...as long as he gets his way.

Everybody in the CFL knows the Riders covet Franklin...1year away. Pay a starter until you can make a move on Franklin. Either make a move on Franklin..with a very costly trade, should Hervey decide to go that way, or wait until free agency. There is still no certainty that you will be the only team vying for his services. But hey, if you've bought into Jones' version of how things went down, over a guy who's been with the team for years, then be happy, and follow Jones dreams. They may be in technicolor.

No, Glenn was signed to be that veteran presence that every team needs behind the starting QB. Your team's plan..to sign that veteran presence, only makes sense if you get a starter. Transition? Sounds like a built-in reach to me. You guys had a starter, but talked yourselves into believing Jones knew what he was doing. Jones just didn't want Durant. Otherwise he would have made it work. You can't tell me Durant wouldnt have done everything to make it work. From then on, it's been spin, spin spin. Kinda like a rinse cycle.

You have to ask yourself - why in gawd's name hasn't the talent-blessed super-duper star signed in the NFL? He's got NFL talent, but an arena league mentality. As to no different than Stafford..well that's why Rider fans' opinions can't be taken seriously. If you can't see the difference, you've already been Jonesied.
