  1. Did you guys not read the news release that If'Only did not sign a contract with the WFC?
  2. What was fairly obvious was his answer- that he doesn't get into the coaching end of it. There was nothing in his demeoner that suggested otherwise. You heard/read into what YOU wanted to hear - and for that, you get a asinine out of ten..
  3. You could tell that? I listened to it twice, and I did not get that impression. His responses were all measured and honest. Are you sure you weren't listening with tainted ears?
  4. Well, if you mean that the penalty was a bad call, I agree.
  5. Matt Nichols would not be my 1st choice, but yes, we could win a championship with him. Did anyone believe Marcus Crandall would defeat a 14-4 football club?
  6. News Release The Winnipeg Blue Bomber Football club has announced that If'Only has not accepted yet another contract offer from the Club. If'Only has stated that prior arrangements had to have been made to allow for a different result. Winnipeg is not the only organization that has sought the services of If'Only. If'Only's name has been brought up many times in many different scenarios by almost everybody who has thought of a different outcome for their situation. If'Only has cited differences in opinion on compensation and length of term in turning down the offer. Winnipeg is now said to be pursuing the services "Now-if-things-had-only-been-different"....
  7. “The future's very bright,” Moe Leggett said. “If you want to win a Grey Cup, you should come to Winnipeg.”
  8. One of these days JV5, you're just going to have to let it go..about the FG thing. How about today? Here's what an anonymous Coach or GM said..."I would've had my offence go for it, but that being said I wouldn't have been surprised if (Justin) Medlock made it. All the fans and media criticizing the decision to kick it would be saying he should have kicked it with the best kicker in the league if they went for it and didn't convert." I didn't agree with the call either, but I've accepted it. It's a HC's decision. A tough one, whether you accept it or not. Every coach has his thought process. O'Shea followed his. He trotted out his best player. And that 57 yard thing? I wonder about that. Would you be less upset if we didn't win because they threw a short pass..and it failed? Or a pass over the middle, and it was deflected? I've read a dozen different suggestions on what O'Shea should have done. For better results? Who knows. Its the thought that we failed that haunts everybody...and there's no more season for us. It pisses me off to no extent. But that's where we are. But I got to go now...to the bathroom.
  9. #CFL vice president of football Glen Johnson said Wednesday the calls “do not meet the standard” set by the league. - @scratchingpost ?‍?This is highly distressing news. Two bad calls - same review - in a playoff game? And...Jeff Harbin was the same replay official who blew both game changing calls against #Ticats in 2 seperate instances. #CFL And...Who was responsible for Harbin being the replay official in booth BOTH times? Especially after Harbin blew the game vs. #Redblacks. #CFL Wow, do they need to review the review process, and maybe not ever have this Harbin guy do review calls again.
  10. Are you sure it isn't a 61% consensus?
  11. While watching that game on TV last night, it makes me realize what Jet fans are witnessing on that True North ice surface. And that is the enormity of having another 'presence' playing hockey for the Jets. Of course I'm talking about Laine. The hockey fans that get to attend these games live are extremely lucky to see the talent that kid displays. Never did I realize how truly good he is. He's on another level and the Jets have him. I would think we'd spend a hell of a lot less time worrying about the other end of our lineup, and spent more time appreciating the top end of our lineup. Laine, Ehlers, Scheifele, Wheeler, Armia, Byfuglien, Trouba, Myers, Morrissey, Dani, Petan, Copp, Tanev..and on and on. Witness the remarkable and enjoy...
  12. Well, the Jets played well and won. I'd say they had the exact lineup they needed.
  13. Thorburn is a delicious fringe player to have on one's team. He can play hockey, keep opponents in line and appears to be a hell of a well-liked player by his teammates. A leader. The real question is, why wouldn't you cycle him in the lineup?
  14. Bass had 4 tackles before he left in the 4 th quarter. Hurl had 2 tackles and probably one of the best tackles of the night on Jeremiah Johnson, where he stood him right up and held him to a 4 yard gain. We can't keep picking on Hurl because of what was Etch's defence. He's a handy player to have around in case of injury. Not a MLB starter, but useful.
  15. There's no lol. Medlock, one of, if not the best kicker in CFL history, tells me as a Coach, that he can do it, and, you've seen him do it, then that's a real enough statistic to me.
  16. Penton on Chungh - @BlueBomberTalk @JoshSmith_82 Turns out he signed the usual three year rookie deal. The rest of the 'unofficial' free agent list: WR Darvin Adams - yes please LB Khalil Bass - love Bass, but is it him, or the scheming? we have to do better at MLB LB Jesse Briggs* - yes LB Tony Burnett - yes DT Euclid Cummings - yes, although I know he wants to try down south. QB Dominique Davis - ??? SB Clarence Denmark - gets an invite to TC QB Kevin Glenn - yes WR Tori Gurley - gets an invite to TC LB Sam Hurl* - yes WR Rory Kohlert* - TC KR Quincy McDuffie - yes QB Matt Nichols - yes LS Chad Rempel* yes LB Teague Sherman - yes * Canadian Floaters... Doug Brown No winnipeg team has had as few giveaways as this offence... Farman Lallji Wally Buono tells me he will definitely be back next year as Head coach and GM of #BCLions. @CFLonTSN -the league-imposed moratorium on major announcements begins this Thursday. Interesting, because O'Shea addresses the media on Wednesday, and Walters addresses the media on Friday - the day after the moratorium....So, does that mean no announcement? Glenn on Nichols "He's a very studious guy of the game," Glenn said after a team practice. "Also, he has the tools and the ability to lead a team. His demeanour, his attitude, he's not just a guy that talks about it. He's a doer, too." Adams on Nichols "You have to be inside the huddle just to know," Adams said. "You can tell by the look in his eyes that he means business. "You know that he wants to win and has that competitive spirit as a winner. It feels good to play for a guy like that." ?‍?There were 22 games decided by a margin of 0-4 points in the CFL this year. And then the semi finals - 2 more. Donnovan Bennett Lost in all the talk of how dangerous Calgary is offensively is how good their west rivals in BC were racking up yards in 2016. Their win over Saskatchewan marked their fifth game of 40-plus points this season. Jones, in his post-season meeting with the media, said the Riders believe — contrary to Durant’s claim — that their offer is fair and they want Durant as their quarterback next season. After saying he doesn’t want these negotiations to look like Durant-versus-Jones, the Riders’ boss incredulously stated one of his team’s other four quarterbacks could win games for the team in 2017, but also hinted there are others who could join the Riders. Judy Owen - the Canadian Press Jones uses the phrase "moderately successful" when describing Durant during an interview about his contract. "I'm told he's (Marc Trestman) not too interested in coming back to the #CFL." - @JDunk12 #AlsMTL via @rodpedersen
  17. According to Penton - "making it the second biggest blown lead in CFL playoff history." *seems to be some confusion on this.... But no matter. It will be remembered...and that's too bad. The game itself, barring the final result, was a truly fantastic CFL game that had a bit of everything. For me, it doesn't matter when the points are scored, as long as we win. Alas, that didn't happen. We were one play away...
  18. And... Tait? A day later I'm even less sure about what I would have done as Bombers coach. Let's start with Medlock says he would make 1/3 from 61... And.. @TroyWestwood @JimTothSports Medlock said he could make that 1/3 times. Of course he can hit it, but only 33% of the time. That's a thought, but it's not going to happen. It's part of the folklore now, and part of O'Shea's legacy and Medlock's leg*acy. We'll be discussing this all off season...(sigh) We just have to look at it as a failed play...which it was, a third down stop, not unlike we've put on other teams. As was mentioned by Adrenaline_X, it was a play to win... Would I have done it? Probably not. For one, I don't have the cojones for that decision. O'Shea's the leader. He does.
  19. Been deeleted..
  20. I read on Twitter that the announcement is about Regina finally getting a CFL team...
  21. O'Shea said he went through 'the process' about what you know of the situation, then he throws the flag..to buy more time. LaPolice has a play ready anyway it goes. O'Shea believes Medlock can hit the long ball.."he's got the leg", he's the best kicker in CFL history"..so he goes to Medlock. It was not a disrespect at all to Nichols. They want him back. Nichols acts like he'll be back. They believe in O'Shea, even if some fans don't.
  22. Do you even know what a playoff game is?
  23. I look at this and wonder where you're going with this. Am I to believe that after years of the bullshirt we've been put through, you want to jettison the guy just as we're putting things together as a team? Listen to the players after that loss. To a man they believe they can do it, that is, get to a Cup. And that's with O'Shea. I see us as only getting better. Plug a few holes, deal a new hand, and power forward. We know what we can do. Let's find out how far we can do it.
  24. Disagree with trading Non-import assets. We have some deficiencies on our team, mostly defence, but nothing can stop us from bringing in our own QB, if he isn't here already. Nichols is developing into a #1 and K. Glenn is a more than adequate veteran backup. Look for players down south, but keep and develop as many nationals as possible. We've been behind in that category for too many years. And there's always free agency - although we don't have to go as deep as last year. We can go for the minimum. (Eliminimum)
