  1. It was obvious to some of us. It was a mistake that was corrected by a challenge. That was the point. The results and subsequent actions by Dickenson has no bearing on a legitimate challenge.
  2. Apparently, we aren't the only team who fail to get pressure on Mitchell. We'll have to figure that out. We got thrashed in the first half because we gave them instant field position the whole half (whole half?). The worst starting point for Calgary in the half was their own 43 yard line. That makes it much easier for Mitchell, and much tougher on our D. Combine that with a shaky start by our offence and there you have a 24-0 start. It's amazing we made a game of it after that.
  3. O'Shea challenged a ball that obviously had hit the ground when McDaniel caught it with his hand. That was a mistake corrected.
  4. They'll be even more pissed off after they hear Bo Levi Mitchell's somewhat arrogant statement in his TSN halftime interview. "They're finding out who they are and we're going to continue to show that to them." The Bombers should be able to use that statement when we meet them in the playoffs and shove that cocky statement right through that wispy beard he has and up his snazzoo.
  5. The Bombers accepted the coin toss win and then got Finch'ed. Justin Medlock whallops the ball down to the goal line, but Finch returns it to Cal. 46. Between Finch's returns on punts and at least 1 great Maver punt, the Stampeders owned field position the entire 1st half. They scored on that. 1st possession. They then got the ball at their 53. Result FG Third possession Calgary 43, then Winnipeg 52, then the Calgary 52 - result? Another TD. Then the interception. Ball on the Calgary, 54 Result - TD You get the picture. It was 24-0 before we recovered a fumble and got the ball at the Calgary 35. The result? Our first TD They got their last FG of the half from a start at the Wpg 54 The coin toss? We weren't ready to defend Mitchell, especially with the field position he was given the entire 1st half. We can look at our Offence, and Nichols being off, but, make no mistake, Special Teams was special..as in 30% off. Without all that instant field position, I'm not sure Calgary gets that 27-7 halftime lead. It was a letdown from that unit that we're not used to seeing.
  6. VERY impressed with the end drive that produced the last Bomber touchdown. Winnipeg teams have been unable to do this in recent years. Or even come close. They deserved a better fate.
  7. Hey TLB, you had me going there...for one-sixtieth of a minute.
  8. I was looking forward to seeing Drew Willy come off the bench, recognize the defences, make some throws, get some first downs, move the ball downfield, and score. Then I realized I've been wanting the same thing all year from Willy..and getting the same results. Some nice throws here and there, but mostly looking quickly for check-downs, and getting two-and-outs. Two and out Willy. Now I remember. Thanks again Kyle for moving #2...out.
  9. Gonna miss Justin Cole out there. But, there's Eric Martin...the unknown factor. Might work in our favour with Flanders in, instead of Harris. Same reasoning. It'd be nice if Matt Nichols could tie Jonathan Jennings for the CFL lead in game winning drives. Nichols, currently has 3. I hope Coach Hall has something in store for Calgary's offence. It seems Mitchell hasn't had to run for any yards in his last two games. Zero yards. Nichols has had 11 carries for 39 yards. Ha, but that's only by partial design. The Bomber ball hawks will be circling but Mitchell only has 2 interceptions in his last 188 attempts. Nichols has 1 in 241 attempts. That is a .4% rate. The record is .7% Any guesses who has the record? It's no wonder Coach Wylie is smiling more these days. The Bombers have had 25 QB sacks allowed this year - first 7 games: 21, the last 5 games: 4 Winnipeg has the #1 scoring defence - Calgary has only allowed 1 opponent defensive TD. Calgary is the #1 team in Fewest Turnovers Made against the #1 team (Winnipeg) in Most Turnovers Forced... Something has to break...right? This game features the two clubs with the fewest 2-and-outs. Winnipeg has only 48. Man that a switch, and Calgary has only 50. Probably normal for them The thing is, both Winnipeg and Calgary love to kick FGs. They're both on pace to tie or break the single-season FGs made record of 59 I don't want to talk about the Stampeders' accomplishments in 2016...there's way too many. Suffice to say, we have to take..few penalties...keep up the strong ST play...strong D...and score when we have the chance.
  10. Terrell done 'Sink'd' his time in BC. and so he was released.
  11. ?‍?StatsStuff Odd thing - the Bombers have the same number of sacks - allowed, and made by the defence...24 Medlock - up 10 in the scoring lead. Medlock - the only current kicker to have made all his converts 21-21 Winnipeg is 6th in net offence and 8th in net offence allowed. But this doesn't translate into points as the Bombers are 2nd in points allowed. Bombers are only 6th in rushing yards. BC leads all teams. Bombers are 4th in allowing rushing yards, but 9th in passing yardage allowed. 3rd in sacks allowed. 2nd in completion percentage Bombers have dropped to 7th in TOP Winnipeg is 4th in penalties taken. Is 3rd fewest in two-and-outs is 1st in fewest opponent red zone chances allowed. is last in punting avg. but 3rd in net punting.. Harris is still #1 in yards from scrimmage. 12. One quick question. How long does it take you to give a minute speech? ?
  13. Way too many restrictions and form-chart decision paths there TBurg. Sometimes you just need to look at the totality of the situation and make a common sense decision. The common sense decision, in this case, is to begin the process of contract talks. Seems logical to a lot of people. Oh, and by the way, it's time to change your signature. It's so wrong for you. And besides, Brian Baeumler (Leave it to Bryan) wants his slogan back.
  14. Thanks to Arash Madani for putting into words, with testimonials, the meaning behind the man. Many of us, who believe in the man, are happy to see so many players, former players, stick up for the man. As many of us suspected, O'Shea is part of the culture change being pushed forward by the WFC. He, and Walters are building the future of the club here. Success, hopefully will follow. They, and we fans, deserve it.
  15. I can confirm that the gruelling truth is not chick bait, as I have been using it for years, with very little success. But seriously, I have read these articles before, and posted tweets, without problems, so....
  16. Yes, good point. Richie Hall also had both cornerbacks stay on the same side all game in the Toronto game. Pretty unusual strategy. Randle played 100% of the snaps at left corner, while Adams played 100% at right corner. As it turned out, both Randle and Adams playe 28 snaps at field-corner and 28 snaps at boundary-corner. "Meanwhile, nothing change for the halfbacks - Fogg (boundary) and Johnson (field) each played all snaps at their regular positions." Yeah, he stumbled, and there is a short clip on it in the same article. Check out this informative article here: https://bomberbuzz.com/2016/09/20/bombers-secondary-quietly-impresses-in-debut-of-randle-adams/
  17. We should sign somebody, somebody like Courtney Taylor, who suddenly is available. Somebody should be checking the airport for him.
  18. Well, the Bombers, this time, were in a no Kil zone..
  19. I don't know whether or not we can make that assumption.. Maybe we did try..
  20. Week 13 bye week - BC CFL History In the 1923 Grey Cup, Regina lost to Queen's 54-0 (still a record). Like today, no one in Saskatchewan was sober enough to notice Didier Ormejuste The Alouettes are currently $300k over the salary cap. They have eight weeks to "fix" this problem. ?‍?This is the second time I've heard this quote and I so disagree with the way it's presented. "A Caleb Holley fumble when Saskatchewan was in position for go-ahead points led to the deciding Bombers touchdown." It was a Kevin Fogg strip that caused that turnover. It was not a fumble per se. It was a strip. Scott Milanovich I don’t see Drew as a project,” Milanovich said. “I see Drew as a bonafide upper tier starter. Ticats.ca Montreal’s Red Zone defence is keeping the Alouettes in games. They have stopped 15 of the last 23 opponent Red Zone chances. Ed Tait - Blue Bombers.com The Bombers are 7-1 when winning the turnover ratio this year They are +23 in the turnover ratio, first overall (Calgary second at +13, Saskatchewan last at -18). Winnipeg has just 17 giveaways (second fewest to Calgary at 13) The 40 takeaways by the Bombers include 20 interceptions, 14 fumbles and six on downs. (Toronto is next with 29 takeaways). From those 40 takeaways, the Bombers have generated 100 points. Little wonder Chris Randle, who is likely to return to the lineup this week, said Tuesday he had never been a part of a defence like this. “Me, either,” said Bombers defensive end Jamaal Westerman. Those numbers are also emblematic of a defence that feels comfortable in its scheme and willing to be aggressive in making plays on the ball. It’s worthwhile here to put some of these numbers into perspective. The +23 ratio is impressive, given that the club record is +27, set in 1987. Matt Nichols is now 9-5 as the starter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers dating back to last year’s Banjo Bowl.
