You have to remember that when Miller took over the role of CEO, he wanted to change the culture of the Winnipeg Football Club. It is why he hired Kyle Walters and Mike O'Shea. He saw in them the direction the Club could go to achieve success through patience, and good football people. It is also why you never heard that MOS was in danger of losing his job. To fans on the outside, we only saw the wins versus the losses. We didn't get to see the change IN the locker room. We are getting that glimpse now. It was never going to be a 1 or 2 year fix. It's good not to have known that before. It's better now that we're winning, not for that sake alone, but also for the fact that more can be done while these guys are in charge. It was easy to take potshots, especially at O'Shea, but he believed in what he and Kyle and Miller were doing, and it shows. Players with character and integrity. Not always easy to see through the outer layers, and we're not there yet, but from what we're seeing now, they deserve more time. We can give them that. We deserve that too.

LeFevour just couldn't win it for the Argos..although he certainly tried. The Argos had a pretty good game plan for LeFevour. Bombers 2-1 in sacks (Hope Sheppard is OK.) So, indirectly, this 5th round draft pick somehow allows us to pick up another so called backup QB, a highly regarded DB in TJ Heath and a 1st round pick in '17, a 3rd pick in2018, with a side cost of a 4th round pick in 2017. Oh, and Jade Etienne. That's quite the remarkable inventory upgrade.

I was remiss in calling to attention a particular play(s) involving Weston Dressler and Justin Cox. As you all remember, near the end of the Labour Day game Justin Cox was penalized for interference when he prevented Dressler from getting to the ball by using his left arm to hold, then hook Dressler, all the while looking back for the ball. Move on to the Banjo Bowl game, early in the 2nd quarter, on our 1st possession, Nichols and Dressler cleverly hooked up for 31 yard gain. Dressler virtually ran the same route, but when Cox made his move - arm out and looking back at the QB, Dressler pressed in, then cut out quickly before Nichols hit him with a perfect pass. In my mind, a nicely designed play with this exact scenario in mind. LaPolice, Nichols and Dressler - well done.. If you get a chance..check it out to see what I mean.

Whoa, take it back some. There are a lot of people, myself included, that have seen, and heard a hell of a lot of "stuff" that comes out from an incident, which when investigated does not resemble the actual facts. Nobody is saying a version of this incident didn't happen, but man, there are a few red flags that causes a pause, and a re-think. So don't be belittling those of us who "believe only half of what we see, and nothing of what we hear." It's called experience. It may take you while to get some.

The factors involved indicate different. This trade was no spur of the moment, flip of the coin decision. There were circumstances and implications. Two weeks ago...no way trade is made. Then Ray goes down, Toronto gets a little more anxious. The demotion of Glenn sealed it. Better off with Willy? - if he played? We just don't know. There were questions. So that leaves Willy as a backup. Better off with Willy as a backup? Again, question marks. And kind of a big salary for question marks. Leaving the situation was risky and would not have gone any better as time moved on. As we've talked about it here, for a long time, if we could pick an ideal backup for your team...Kevin Glenn would be it. And voila, it's done. We all hope the best for Willy...it just wasn't a fit here, at this time, for whatever reason. This trade re-aligns the roster and upgrades the future, and avoids those nagging questions.
