  1. Please, please let there be no hand fighting in the stands...
  2. The second part of your post is wrong however. And this is what's being spouted at Riderfans. Hand fighting? Seriously? Within 6 yards of Dressler running his route COX was handling Dressler, starting partially, then extending his arm across Dressler. The only thing Dressler did was have his arm extending from his body. Do you guys at Rider fans even know what hand fighting is? Did you know it actually takes two people to be involved in hand fighting? Go and look at a posting in the game day thread and see for yourself, a series of pics that clearly show it was Cox who was doing all the "handling". And the funny part is, he had position, he didn't have to do anything...

The span of Saskatchewan’s last five victories: 671 days. That’s wild. -With Ryan Smith expected to return to the line-up next week, it will be interesting to see if Nichols throws the deep ball more often with an elite deep threat at his disposal. -Two fourth quarter interceptions aside, Sunday’s game was disastrous for the Blue Bomber secondary. Johnny Adams struggled mightily against rookie Caleb Holley, often looking flat-footed and out of position after the catch. Adams will need to return to his 2015 form if he is to keep his starting spot when Chris Randle returns from injury. -is there a chance the Riders look to sign one of Swayze Waters or Sergio Castillo? -The Bomber offensive line allowed two sacks on Sunday, one of which came on a poorly-executed quarterback draw late in the game. Winnipeg has now allowed eight sacks in Nichols’ five starts (1.6 per game), half the number that the Bombers allowed in Drew Willy’s five starts (16). -Speaking of Sunday’s controversial pass interference call, let’s not forget that the Riders played a mistake-ridden game against Winnipeg. The gamble on third and 3? The bizarre fake punt to Ed Gainey? Two fourth quarter interceptions? Two missed field goals? These are all mistakes that went into the result of Sunday’s game (which, in fairness, featured a ton of mistakes from the Bombers, too). To simply chalk the Riders’ loss to a bad penalty would be unfair — Sunday’s game was decided on a combination of 158 plays, not just one. Bye in Week 12 - Ottawa
  5. You're really reaching in some of your stuff... And Eric M. is that knowledgable poster Bomber Buzz, who gave us that great breakdown in the analysis of the Calgary game in week 2. http://morningbigblue.com/community/topic/9931-eric-from-bomber-buzz-analyzed-every-single-play-of-the-calgary-game/?do=findComment&comment=206611
  6. ReginaLeader-Post - Sept 5 Cox, who intercepted the pass that was intended for Dressler, repeatedly referred to the penalty as “a bad call.” That likely will earn him a call from the CFL office. Asked if the official told him why the flag was thrown, Cox replied: “He couldn’t tell me anything because I knew it (wasn’t a penalty). I didn’t touch (Dressler) after five (yards). He just made a bad call.” I want to ask mr cox if he still wants to stick to that story... Bombers have the ball on their 45 yard line. This first picture shows first contact about 6 yards later... Not too bad. That could be let go. ..........Then, a little more.... And....A little more contact There's more.... And...a grab The other pictures I took get grainier and grainier but they still show Coz's arm pulling down on Dressler and eventually turning him. Of course, this all happens in nano-seconds, but it clearly shows contact..the actual kind, not the no-contact kind that Cox swears never occurred.
  7. Ah, memories... 2015 Labour Day Classic - Saskatchewan 37 Winnipeg 17 The Bombers took 140 yards in penalties, and starting quarterback Brian Brohm produced just 127 yards of net offence before garbage time. The Riders looked pretty good under new interim head coach Bob Dyce, but they also took advantage of Winnipeg's bad offence, terrible special teams play and severe lack of discipline en route to a 37-19 thumping of the Blue and Gold in the 53rd Labour Day Classic. **Overall the Bombers got flagged 17 times for 140 yards. Backup quarterback Brian Brohm, making his second career CFL start, managed only 127 yards of net offence until garbage time, when the Bombers tacked on another 103 in their final three meaningless drives. The Blue and Gold took six unnecessary roughness penalties in their 37-19 loss to the Roughriders in the 53rd Labour Day Classic, and it was a key factor in their fourth straight loss. - Kirk Penton, Winnipeg Sun I prefer this year's result much better.
  8. ?‍?The TSN crew mentioned it is Messam's 100th game in the CFL and it looks like he finally found 'a home'. According to Messam himself, he's mostly to blame for not being ready to have a permanent home before. Messam Messam signed as a free agent with the BC Lions and was used sparingly — just 23 carries in 17 games — during his rookie season. In training camp the following season, the Leos traded him to Edmonton for the low, low price of a fifth-round draft choice. Besides the lack of production on the field, there were some off-field incidents. Messam admits his attitude was an issue. “Immaturity and feeling like I was a know-it-all,” is how he puts it. “I was thinking that I’ve made it and now that I’m here, that I can rest. Then I realized that when you think you’ve made it, that’s when you have to turn it on and push to get even better.” That improvement happened in 2011 with the Eskimos as the big man rumbled for 1,057 yards and was named the league’s top Canadian. But then came another huge, axle-smashing pothole. “I got hurt in 2011 and it kind of put me in a bad headspace,” he says. “And then, trying to recover from the injury, I just wasn’t myself for the next two seasons. Going into Montreal (in 2013), I wasn’t really healthy, I was kind of fighting through it and just going through the motions.” After one season in Montreal, the Alouettes decided to go in a different direction at tailback and released Messam. 9. ?‍?This should be a very good game between two motivated teams. Don't forget, Edmonton beat them 3 times last year and Calgary no no like that.? CFL.ca Staff Edm vs Calg The Stamps roll into Labour Day winners of six in a row and the undisputed best team during the first half of the 2016 CFL season, while the Esks seem to have sorted themselves out en route to their current three-game winning streak. One of the main objectives for Edmonton’s improved defence this Monday will be creating penetration on Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell. Calgary’s surrendered a league-low 10 sacks and turned the ball over just 12 times this season — also a league-low figure. Offensively the Eskimos will be faced with the league’s best statistical defence in Calgary; the Stamps have allowed the fewest points (185) in the CFL while forcing the most fumbles (14) and creating the most pass knockdowns (38) in the league. Calgary’s offensive line — one of its biggest strengths in the first half — will be without centre Pierre Lavertu. Spencer Wilson will move over to centre, with rookie Ucambre Williams sliding onto the line at right tackle. While receiver Joe West appeared ready to make his return from the Stamps’ injured list, Dickenson and his staff opted to stick with Davaris Daniels. The rookie out of Notre Dame hauled in 108 receiving yards and a touchdown in Calgary’s win over Hamilton last week. Toronto @ Hamilton Both teams are 4-5 Both enter Monday night’s marquee matchup off losses; Hamilton’s last outing ending in a narrow 30-24 defeat in Calgary, Toronto’s a 16-13 home loss to BC on a last-second field goal.
  10. You had me until you implied the ref should make his own decision based on the point in the game. If there is a penalty, in his opinion, and his is the only one that counts in this situation, then he has to throw the flag. To not throw the flag means he made a conscious choice that affects the outcome of the game. That's something we do not want. The point of the game shouldn't matter. Whether or not it's a penalty, does matter.
  11. Indeed, a soft call. Who wouldn't be pissed to get called like that. BUT, I pretty well think Climie called it right. There was contact by Cox, borderline, but once he got his arm in there, and the official did see it, then it went too far. It only seems way worse because of the point in the game, but in no way do I come out thinking the refs were just waiting, with their hands on the flag, to get those slimy green bastards.
  12. Jones, who let assistant Coaches talk him into throwing that first challenge flag. (He was actually putting the flag away) Jones, who reacted to the fans and their calls on the second challenge, rather than believe his eyes, when CLEARLY Roosevelt trapped the end zone catch. Jones, who gambled on third down instead of trying a FG? Jones, who showed us possibly the worst fake punt in CFL history. Suurrre the refs cost you the game. Let's all interlock our arms and chant the conspiracy song.
  13. Looks like others saw the same thing...
  14. Quincy McDuffie (2), Denmark, Dressler were all hit in stride...great throws, but if you mean all of them going for a TD, then no...what a bum.
  15. Say what? I wont get into the play calling too much (that's another discussion) but I can't believe you put the boots to Nichols on his throwing prowess today. Nichols threw the ball extremely well especially when it came to McDuffie and Denmark and Dressler. A lot of those passes were beauts, in very tight spaces. He was throwing the ball in the right places where only our receivers could get them. It's not his fault two potential TDs were dropped. Oh, and remind me again how many ints he threw, with the game on the line....
  16. For all the ripping on 'the' penalty call of the game, once you insert your arm inside the receiver's arm, that's pretty much it for getting a call. Like it or not, close call or not, end of the game or not, it's still a penalty.
  17. See Bombers - 2015
  18. What we have to appreciate is the fact that we recognized the weakness at a position (PK) and went out and got the best. We may falter on offence (especially after two drops) but we know that this offence is proficient enough to get us within range to win any game. We are now 6-4 because of it. Could we have done better? No. We won. End of story.
  19. Really, I think we should wait until we're actually losing before we pick apart all the thing we're doing wrong.
  20. For all you Bomber fans, don't forget the special shuttle service from either hotel to the game... All rides don't cost nothing at all after the first $5.00.
  21. Well, that fits right in with some digging I did and found out that the watermelon kings have cancelled their plans to chainsaw watermelons after the Riders score TDs. First of all, all the watermelons would spoil from not being used, and second of all, the guy who knows how to start the chainsaw will be out of town this weekend.
  22. CFL Game Notes Winnipeg - 18 Turnovers forced last 3 games: - It is the first time in 27 years (since 1989) that a team has created at least 6 forced T/Os in a run of 3 straight games (EDM 1989) - It is the most in total by any CFL club across a 3-game span since Toronto forced 19 in Aug-Sep 2006, 10 years ago. It is the most forced by Winnipeg in a 3-game span since they had 20 by their opponents in October 2003. - Winnipeg is on pace to force 66 opponent T/Os in 2016, the most by any CFL club since Montreal in 2002 (67) The Bombers have had 62 different players dress for at least one game this season compared to Saskatchewan’s CFL-high total of 79, 14 more than any other team thus far. The league-wide average for the other eights clubs than Saskatchewan is 61 players per team with at least one game played. Saskatchewan has used 46 different starters this season including 9 along the Offensive Line, 4 different starting running backs and 11 starting defensive backs. By contrast, Edmonton has used just 31 different starters. ?‍?Where's the value in Andrew Harris? Right here: The Bombers are 5-1 this season when Harris rushes for at least 40 yards. first 5 games: 53 for 206 yards, 3.9 average, 0 TD Rushing – last 4 games: 75 for 369 yards, 4.9 average, 4 TD In the last 4 games, Winnipeg’s total offence has averaged a modest 360 yards per game (349 net). Of those 1,1441 combined rushing and passing yards, Andrew Harris has accounted for 30.3% of them (441 of 1,441). ?‍?Who should we pay attention to? Namaan Roosevelt targets: Was #2 among all CFL receivers last week with 175 yards on 11 catches from 14 total targets. He had two catches for 30+ yards and accounted for 47% of the Riders’ 370 total yards via the air. He has four 100-yard games this season and has been the target on 27% of the Riders’ 341 passes where a target could be established.
