  1. One of the most important non-stats that aren't/can't br recorded would be the assists in tackles made on STs BECAUSE a special teamer held his lane and forced the play as was drawn up. If you've done your job..it will be noticed.
  2. TB - Looks to me that you've changed tracks..went out of your area of responsibility..failed to make either the tackle or strayed out of your lane... You need more coaching..
  3. As far as I remember Mack's draft record is not something to put out there as one of his strengths...
  4. There's also that nagging possibility of an expansion draft in 2018 that will force issues..
  5. Does the fact that a team has a losing record automatically mean that the coach is a bad coach? Or can there be other factors? I think that when you have a losing record, it's easier to find fault in the team as a whole, including coaching, but it's not necessarily a bad coach coaching the team. It may just be a bad team.
  6. Burn a year for maybe a game, a few games? Risk injury? For our anxiousness? Nonsense. If minor league contracts are not included..send him to the Moose. Otherwise, congratulate him on a good year and follow procedure. We can wait...
  7. What's the use of holding back? You go into each season with renewed hope and high expectations and expect no less than a winning year. I'm not afraid of setbacks. I can face adversity. This is sports, this is excitement, a high-entertaining game blistered with disappointments. Winning is the ultimate reward, and it's great to be part of it. Soon, we will be part of it again. And I'll be wearing shorts when we do.
  8. What evidence? The evidence is more testimonial than record-backing, but there is belief. Belief that with a better lineup, there will be better performance. Better performance should translate into more wins..and better records. We want them for our team, not for future OShea teams.

  10. Now that they're finished 'refining' the S, they can start working on the U and the C ....
  11. I'm not sure if we could have lost to this version of the Canucks...
  12. So, it was all just a mistake..like many on here have said. Not a cover up, no shenanigans, just human error. The Manitoba Gaming Control Commission has concluded the Winnipeg Blue Bombers didn't intend to deceive customers during a mix-up about which ticket won $178,748 in a 50/50 draw at the Grey Cup. "What we found was it was simply human error," said Liz Stephenson, chief administration officer for the commission. At the game, the Bombers posted the correct winning number on the Jumbotron. But on the Bombers site online, a mistake was made and two numbers were switched so it appeared a different ticket had won. Days later, the online error was caught, the number was corrected on the website and the winner came forward with his ticket and claimed his prize. The investigation into the Bombers' goof wrapped up last week, after investigators were finally able to speak directly to the host for the Bombers' online site and confirm it really was a typographical error that mistakenly transposed two numbers. "We wanted to check the details with one of the people who runs the website, just to find out when the changes were made. The person responsible actually went to New Zealand... That totally delayed things," Stephenson said. "Two numbers were switched, it was pretty straightforward." This probably means it's always a good idea to get the facts before making reckless allegations.. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/winning-ticket-number-mix-up-on-bomber-website-human-error-commission-372966011.html
  13. AND WADE MILLER AND THE BOMBERS REFUSE TO LISTEN!!!
  14. If I'm not mistaken, that very table is the one used by the REDBLACKS when they drafted their players in the CFL...
  15. This just leaked from a somewhat shady website that describes exactly how the drafting of players will go down if the Las Vegas area gets an NHL expansion team. ¥ ¥ ¥ ¥
  16. Just what you would expect from a former fellow teammate who has respect for his opponent: Ken Wiebe (@WiebeSunSports) tweeted at 9:17am - 18 Mar 16: More Byfuglien on facing friends: "I'll hit you when I can and I will buy you a beer afterwards." #NHLJets (https://twitter.com/WiebeSunSports/status/710862721810505728?s=17) Now that's the character that is Dustin Byfuglien.
  17. How does that question go? Can you imagine... Coaches, Paul Maurice included, love to talk about having as many centres as possible up front because most of them are able to make the transition to the wing, if needed. If by some small miracle the Jets were to land prized prospect Auston Matthews, the Jets could open 2016-17 training camp with Scheifele, Matthews, Bryan Little, Adam Lowry, Michigan star and Hobey Baker finalist Kyle Connor and Andrew Copp at centre and also have Mathieu Perreault, Alex Burmistrov and Nic Petan and Chase De Leo ripening on the farm. Perreault and Little, FYI, would the oldest of that group, both at 28. ed.tait@freepress.mb.ca
  18. Keep that up and coaches will want to have input in how they coach.
  19. We'll see if the NHLPA agrees with that stance. I personally dislike the extended contracts and NM clauses that have found their way into negotiations, but they're there, and will have to be 'negotiated' in this case, IMO.
  20. If NMC clauses are to be treated differently, and they probably will be..due to legalities, then it would seem to punish those teams that figured their rosters with only the NMC clauses in mind, not because they would be locked in to protecting them if expansion talk backed them into a corner.
  21. As it stands, and if Enstrom has a NMC, then he is ineligible to be left open, is he not? But then that would be a detriment to any team that has such players. In the Jets case, we would have to expose another player, one of Trouba, Buffuglien or Myers? *I don't think you can force NMC contracts to be moved. **Perhaps, they can be exempt..
  22. I'm very much concerned with any selection/protection of any members of the Winnipeg Jets. I simply cannot forget the sheer raping of our roster the last time the NHL 'drafted' from our team in a 'reclamation' draft, to 'allow' us to join the fraternity that is the brotherhood of the NHL. And here we go again..close to really upgrading our roster, and we have to give away our talent. I don't like it one little bit.
  23. The D-line last year was just that...a 'D' line. This year is going to be a huge upgrade. Enough so, that it will bring a big smile to Westerman's face and to every linebacker in rotation for the Blue, as well as the DBs. This will be fun to watch.
  24. There's praise in them there eyes...and respect. There's many who underestimate certain players' roles on this team. They believe there are a lot of tradable players. The trouble is, would the replacements have the same value in their roles. Be careful who you want to get rid of, the next ones may not meet your expectations...
