This is exactly right. It's a penalty Kill - NOT death of penalty by 'icemosis.'

Where the heck is the love for Puljujarvi?

Re: Montreal... They’re far and away the oldest team in the CFL for the second consecutive season. They have nineteen veterans in their thirties, which is a mind-blowing amount given scouting departments ability to find players and replacements every year, reiterating Popp’s desperation. It’s a terribly, terribly high number, not to mention that much of those players make up the core of Montreal’s roster. - BomberBuzz - http://bomberbuzz.com/2016/02/23/are-we-witnessing-the-demise-of-jim-popp/

I was going to mention the Jets situation, way back when, but I didn't feel it was an apt comparison..for the very reasons you mentioned. Both fan bases lost their teams, but the money involved cannot be compared. If the Jets1.0 had any kind of financial backing, they might have been able to skirt the issues ahead of time. This St. Louis thing should be handled by the very people who make money off this very same team and city...
-
You have to have empathy for the fans of a team that gets 'yanked' out of their home. I can't think of a worse scenario than losing "my" team. And would I have complete frustration with a league that allows this? You betcha. When a league gets so rich and uncaring that they can thumb their noses at a fan base and their city, well, you can have that league. I wouldn't want any part of it.

The idea of 'Mericans watching our game..then loving it, is sexy and flirtatious, but like KBF says, once the big bucks from the NFL show up, we'd be shown the door pretty damn quick, and who wants to do that breakup thing all over again?

Uniform changes with Adidas may not be dramatic
Mr Dee replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well, that settles it. Website to trash fans? And they are fans. I'd call that stodgy, and lame. You said it, fans can be laid back and still support their teams. I personally like the nicknames idea. True Blue, BluePrince, BlueBlood, DeeBlues, BlueonBlue, and such. (no BlueJays though). Just support your team, that's all. -

For Noeller & WBB Fan West: The Positivity Thread
Mr Dee replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The thread topic title space is not big enough to contain all the Bomber supporter names who will stand alongside the two whom you have singled out. I'm positive of that. -
Game 57 : Airport 75 @ Lightning
Mr Dee replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Just saw the events leading up the ejection. Extraordinary. Little was smashed when he was in a vulnerable position. Everybody saw it. That's why a guy like Wheeler went straight after Stralman. You can't have that kind of BS. And yet the NHL won't even talk to him? Strange. Makes me wonder the reaction from the NHL had it been Myers or Buff on the giving end of that hit. And Paul Maurice? Appropriate reaction? You bet. When the explanation doesn't fit the offence, you get mad. Paul Maurice got mad. And he got a bench penalty. And he got stared down...by a ref...who had no business goading a man he already knew was upset. Totally handled wrong from the get-go. How about the refs getting a 'talking to' over this matter? -
I'm with Noeller on this one. The NFL will always be in the background for me. If I didn't t have a PVR..and had to make a choice, it'd be the CFL every time. The game, in the CFL, is simply better. I'll watch the NFL, but only under certain conditions, and it better be a good game or I'll lose interest...fast.

Too bad about Cotton, he tried..it wasn't to be. Too bad about Peach also. If his talent matched his work ethic, he would have benefited from the D-Line additions. Exciting times for the Big Blue ahead.
-
Ok, follow this. We may or may not have asked about Laing. He may or may not be staying up in Canada. He may or may not have fit in our SMS. It doesn't matter. We pursued and got a very good NI DT to go along with another very good DT. We don't need Laing. So, answer the questions I posed.
-
Really? What would you do with Shologan, our other NI DT? I like Laing, but Shologan is here, and he can do the job. Cummings is also here, and although not an NI, he will be really good for us. So, where's the chance to sign another expensive NI DT when we are set at that position?
-
We just scored Shologan007 and Cummings. These guys will give our DL, with Westerman, a tremendous boost. We don't need Laing. I'm just worried, at this point, that they may figure these guys will be such an improvement that they would consider keeping Peach, well, because 'he's a hard worker'. The argument against that, of course, is that Peach may be too costly to keep, and we'll go with a newer, cheaper, peach-faced rookie.

No doubt Muamba got paid nicely for a short period...but that was going to happen anyways, there were teams interested. The problem arises on this year's contract and the supposed 'pay advance'. The timing is all wrong and putting his client in the 'not knowing what's going on' category borders on bush league negotiating. His release should have been arranged way before the Free Agency date to get more teams involved. Back to square one for Muamba just when he thought he was settled. Who played whom doesn't matter. They both look foolish.
-
Let's see, it's been half a day since Muamba has learned of that awful contract gaffe his agent negotiated for him...and he still hasn't fired Hardaway? C'mon Henoc, time to take matters into your own hand. Any other agent would have got you steady employment last year, and this year, at the very least. gofireaway...
-
One huge salary...one rejection...family preference...Eastern preference...one dupe of an agent...where's our advantage?
-
Looks like the 3 teams snapped out it as Montreal blinked first and released Muamba. More turmoil and NFL tryouts before Muamba embarks on his next CFL tour.
-
Stats may also show that the penalty killing philosophy employed by the Jets is flawed and is close to the worst in the league. Much too passive.

"The CFL Supplemental Draft allows every team a shot at each player involved. Teams bid on one player at a time, and the team willing to bid the highest original draft pick of the following year is awarded the player." The Bombers wouldn't necessarily put out their 1st round selection unless forced to do so when other teams show interest in the same player. Obviously, at least one other team showed interest in Waggoner and forced their hand.

I dated a Bridget...and that took its toll.

To be fair, I did say Blue and Gold..? -
You go into the season expecting to do well. You can't plan on getting a high draft pick. That's a fail. If you do your homework, you should have a pretty good idea of what the 2016 draft class should look like, barring unforeseen circumstances. So when you're presented with the opportunity to pre-select a quality player..you do it, or not be pro-active, save your pick, and take your chances. Who's to say is the better way?
