Euclid Cummings is a huge signing for the Bombers. Did not think this would have happened. Way better interior pressure with today's signings. Those white teeth you see is the smile on Jamaal Westerman's face.

The question is, does he have enough daggers to toss at Austin and Desjardins? Don't they have like 40+ of their own players to re-sign? The landscape of the CFL is evolving and Walters seems positioned to work within in this new environment. The Bombers, however, have to correct their wayward scouting system to complete the picture. Isn't improvement the name of the game? And aren't we trying to do just that?

Wow, some teams are signing some great FAs. They will have improved by leaps. The Bombers? Some very good FA signings. Improvement? Leaps and bounds..
-
So far from true..

This day is shaping up just the way one would like..

Can this excitement be matched?

Shologan is a better option all around..

That's right. One deal dominoes another deal.

Get tricky Kyle, get tricky.

Denmark might not survive..

Things that I know. No team can realistically afford $300K, so I believe the Lawless tweet could happen. I'd like the bombers to be his new home, but I can't see it. Save that salary and a half for 2 more solid players.

Since BC's Wally Buono is entering the FA period on Tuesday, all I ask is that we step in and grab one of his targeted FAs. No reason..

When it's a fit, it's a fit. Buff loves what Manitoba has to offer..and vice versa. He's a character player, Winnipeg deserves him. The term is just right. Buffuglien must feel comfortable now that he knows Ehlers has his back. It's a good news story the day before we get some more good news.
-
Nothing for Ehlers for highlighting?

Some loose twitters.. - Ted Laurent is going to get paid big for sure. One of top interior men in #CFL, regardless of nationality. - Lawless - Interesting to see if some agents overshot #cflfa marketplace. Hearing some big numbers in terms of asks. Expect prices to crash on Day 2 - Brent Butt (Corner Gas) Today is a huge day for people who think you need 4 goddam downs to move a ball 10 yards. - Sources say #Ticats Stephen’s new deal similar to 3 yr contract of #Argos Cdn safety Matt Black (avg of $175K a season). - @JDunk12 #CFL - @garylawless Sounding more and more like #Argos Cleon Laing is going to @NFL and won't be part of Tuesday's #CFLFA frenzy. #CFL

It's obviously the proper ending for a game dominated by the Jets. They won all the little battles, face offs, hits and fights. Led by that Danish goon, the Jets threw fear into the hearts of the Avalanche. And yet again we see a glimpse of a team that could be a contender if they brought this kind of game every night. Alas... Easy to watch.. Scheifele, Perreault, Stafford, Armia and Byfuglien. Highlights: Red-faced Patrick Roy arguing a completely unarguable position on goaltender interference. AND.. The absolute endearing, complete team acceptance and excitement by the Jets bench when Ehlers flew in and shocked the hockey world with that delightful encounter. Worth the price of admission right there.

Interesting read in the CFL blog Gazing into the Crystal Ball . In this CFL blog, the writer takes a look at the STs area, the LB area, DBs and the DLine, all with the possible destinations of the selected Free Agents. In it the Bombers are expected to go hard after Justin Medlock, THEN, compete on the D-line for: Keith Shologan, Bryan Hall, and DE, Tristan Okpalaugo. All would be solid additions. There is no mention of players at LB, nor DBs, as those areas aren't as much of a concern. https://canadianfootballblog.wordpress.com/2016/02/02/gazing-in-to-the-crystal-ball-top-10-cfl-free-agency-16-dls/ Offensive info: https://canadianfootballblog.wordpress.com/2016/01/31/gazing-in-to-the-crystal-ball-top-10-cfl-free-agency-16-wrs/ https://canadianfootballblog.wordpress.com/2016/02/01/gazing-into-the-crystal-ball-top-5-cfl-free-agency-16-ols/

And while waiting...things are heating up around the league. According to Lawless, and this makes sense, Ted Laurent, and where he goes, will have a huge impact across the league. And this will affect the Bombers, whether they sign him or not. For instance, if Hamilton manages to re-sign Laurent, that frees up a lot of money, for other teams, to go after differ not players. If they don't re-sign Laurent (more likely) then Hamilton will have maybe, enough money to re-sign Bulcke and....Justin Medlock. And there goes our kicker.

No, that's why I didn't post the video, but I digress. The 'guy' wasn't a bust, and you will see him get snapped pretty fast in FA. Just because you didn't appreciate Washington..doesn't mean many other didn't.
-
Almost interesting, if it didn't include the Jets..and 4 Canadian teams.
-
Yep, rather than do the smart thing and kick on third and long, opposing teams would ALWAYS throw on Washington...even when he was on the sidelines. It led to a lot of confusion..
-
There now seems to be a lot of favourable comments about Washington...as it should be. Makes me wonder why a Bomber fan? would post an unflattering video... After all, there is a video on Washington's incredible 96 yard kickoff return out there too.

There are approximately 131 FAs left, as of noon Frid. The Bombers are said to have an interest in about half of them, if all reports are taken into consideration. But it should be noted that Walters has been busy restructuring many contracts behind the scene to put them in good position for next Tuesday. Here's some of the latest in the CFL: OK, I may be kidding about the Bombers and all their interests.. Another late entry... gary lawless– Verified account @garylawless looks more and more like Ryan Smith won't sign with @sskroughriders and will hit the market. Told he's after in the range of $150 k per @cfl

They did mention something about charities, but I missed it. From Vancity buzz: "Daniel Sedin, along with his brother Henrik, have been class acts for a long time. Back in 2010, they donated $1.5 million to BC Children’s Hospital." "NHL players often speak to the special bond they have with their trainers, given how closely they work together. They’re the guys that put in long hours behind the scenes. If not for the John Scott story, Daniel Sedin would have been in the running for All-Star Game MVP as well. His four-point night led all players. I’m sure he would have given the car away too."
