  1. The latest buzz making its way around the rinks is that Byfuglien would cost the Washington Capitals a "significant" price. Elliott Friedman spoke on Sportsnet 960 and he believes the Capitals are going all in this year, and are setting their sights high. And they "appear" to be looking at Byfuglien. Advantage Cheveldayoff.
  2. Why even have it? Greed. - It's all about the money. Who really cares? Do the players? Like I said before, this is approaching Pro Bowl status in its irrelevance. It's future trivia and nowaday trivial.
  3. That was a good Jet game. Sometimes you're going win 1-0, sometimes you're going to lose 2-1. It's unfortunate that the Jets can't afford a loss like this. But it wasn't from a lack of effort. From both teams. Good goaltending. From both teams. The difference? One power play goal and 21 blocked shots by Colorado. 21 Wheeler led all Jets with 10 shots. Byfuglien had 26:45 of ice time. Once again, the line of Armia, Perreault and Ehlers stirred the ice. They are exciting. The Jets played disciplined and had no penalties. Oh, they were penalized twice, once for a phantom trip, and another for skating to the puck, but they played deserved no penalties. But 0 points for good effort...
  4. They are all friends on faceoffbook.
  5. I use an iPad and to delete, I delete outside the box, then I have to place the cursor outside the box again and delete again until the contents disappear.
  6. You mean Alberta is fracking broke..
  7. A look at what that entertaining team from Norway is up to..
  8. I'd just like to point out that somebody used the phrase "strong sense" and the Bombers..in the same sentence..
  9. I don't know enough about Hamonic to comment about him, just as I didn't know enough about Myers before he came to the Jets. Myers is that kind of player that teams look at and covet. He's big and strong, he's got a nice reach and shot. He's got just enough savvy to be valuable now, and just enough upside to keep our team interested. You can see how he's progressing as he chooses when to "go" on offence, or to stay and play defence. He has not plateaued. I believe he's got more to contribute if we have the coaching to do it. He's a keeper IMO.
  10. Wow. Got to love that effort. Strong, smart performance backed by great goaltending. Jets outhit Minne 26-18 and forced more giveaways 9-2. D-men ice times - Byfuglien 27:46, Myers 24:25 Troba 23:52 But what I loved was the possession game by the young guys. Guys like Ehlers, Armia, Burmistrov and the older young guy, Perrault. When they had the puck they played and passed and kept control. They simply wore Minnesota down. I can't think of anybody who didn't perform like Wheeler wants them to. A solid road game.
  11. Moving on from Semi Moore is a forgone conclusion it seems, and that's not really an issue. But I do agree, they must have another card to play, because they don't have a plethora of receivers as it is. So, the RedBlacks route seems to be the way we're going. Dressler plays into this quite nicely, I would think.
  12. Nice to read the locker room thought so highly of Suber. Nice to hear Suber thought so highly of the Bomber locker room.
  13. Apparently, to the Rider fans, just returning to the Riders should be enough of a benefit. What did they expect? These guys, having returned from NFL tryouts, were going to be paid big dollars, and they were. No surprise. The Riders went all in again last year and that wasn't sustainable.
  14. @SUNMitchellAs of today, Weston Dressler has interest from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argos and Montreal Alouettes, per sources. #CFL
  15. Did you miss the production portion of the post?
  16. I just want the Bombers to think this through. If they already have a plan, then stick to it. If there's room to maneuver, maneuver with Dressler, but there should be some bend..from Dressler. Not bend over, but bend. Dumping Moore for Dressler? Sounds reasonable, but that gets us smaller, not bigger, and we need bigger. OR production. Can we get production from this FA, I mean past the Picard point of production? That's the question. (I wish I hadn't heard about Carter)
  17. Plus/minus is not the end all/be all, stat wise, but it does give an indication relative to team positioning. The Jets, being a lower tiered team, you would expect a roster with lower plus/minus stats. So, for Enstrom to be a +17, especially when he's on the ice for top lines, then he's doing pretty well. Generally, when players are called out, it would be the veteran players..who aren't producing, so take it from there.
  18. Mad scrambling to look at rosters and SMS, going on all over the league..
  19. As expected CFL News– ‏@CFL_News Mike Benevides Named #Esks Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator DETAILS: http://ow.ly/X3Te5 #CFL via @EdmontonEsks
  20. No, no, you're jaded. The CFL news was responsible for the tweet, Ed Tait wrote the piece on Drew Willy and CFL.CA STAFF put out the piece on the sophomores to look out for in their second year. (From this original story http://www.cfl.ca/2016/01/08/sophomore-stars-who-to-watch-in-2016/) But you can still be anxious to see Addison's hair at TC. ??
  21. Interesting things being said today: CFL News – ‏@CFL_News .@dominicpicard poised to join #AlsMTL after getting injury settlement of some kind from #Bombers. #CFL via @ AND - as if we didn't already know this: (Ed Tait) Where the Bombers were lacking in 2015 — and, yes, talent was an issue — was the ability to adapt and adjust in-game or during the course of the week, or to come up with any kind of wrinkle that might pose a problem for a defence. Case in point: after a Bombers loss early in the season, the victorious rival coach was asked about the Winnipeg offence. His answer? There was absolutely nothing the Bombers did that caught his side off guard. AND - on the new Bomber offence: Hey," said the New Jersey native who is entering his fifth CFL season, "any way we can win, I’m all for it. Some days, it might be running the ball. Some days, it might mean throwing it 50 times. Every week is different and the really good coaches out there play to their personnel. I think (LaPolice) will do a good job of feeding the guys he thinks will make us successful." "My goal is to have us pick this up quickly as an offence and for all of us to get to that master’s level quickly," said Willy. "This is a big year coming up. I’m putting everything I can into it. "Training camp can’t get here fast enough." - Drew Willy. AND 2h2 hours ago Blue Bombers ‏@Wpg_BlueBombers Sukh Chung, Khalil Bass, @addigold & @GarrettWaggoner are sophomore stars to watch. >> http://ow.ly/X1oKM
  22. Nobody disputes Kopitar's abilities. It's the necessity of having to go 8 years for a contract at that amount of money. NHL - big money and big egos.
  23. This proves the odor of insanity still permeates the NHL.
