  1. Myers' penalty was a 2 minute hit but the ref bought that act, and punished big, bad Myers because Wingels was bent over already. Dumb penalty equaled only by the dumb 5 minute call. The incidental contact-tripping? call made on Wheeler was bad and made hastily without taking into consideration the whole play. Hugely punitive. Kind of reminds me of calls usually reserved for the Bombers
  2. Would make sense though. The Browns are the NFL equivalent of the Bombers, are they not?
  3. Don't think so, he's got the day off.
  4. Talk is nice and all that, but there's no way I'm getting excited over this "interest". I remember Reilly, and Collaros, and Burris and Laurent and a host of other names that were on my fantasy team too.
  5. National Post Sports – ‏@npsport Gary Bettman’s push for public arena funds — for benefit of wealthy #Flames owners — displays next-level gumption http://natpo.st/1ng21bb Yeah, c'mon Calgary, don't you know what's good for you? Bravo to Nenshi and counsel fo not getting pushed around by the mighty NHL. That Bettman...
  6. I remember reading this tweet and thought 'what an idiot', who would want that ego? The answer, of course, is another ego - Chris Jones. And, The figure of $160k is a lot for his performance so far.. Put these together...and you get why we didn't go there.
  7. I'm not sure you made your point. If I'm not mistaken, there were other teams interested in obtaining Waggoner's services, therefore, the high cost of a 1st rounder. As to over-estimated? Why don't we give this guy Waggoner a wee bit of time to determine his value?
  8. One month away from FA. Let's see; Montreal re-signs OL Kristian Matte - Calgary extended DB Brandon Smith - Saskatchewan signs DB Derrius Brooks. And the Bombers? They announce that cartoonist Tom Batiuk is a Bomber fan, and shows it through his cartoon - Crankshaft. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/blue-and-gold-in-black-white-364823611.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Somehow, this seems appropriate?
  9. Sports psychology, including the topic of confidence/self-confidence, is a well studied phenomenon in sports all over the world. I don't know how anybody who has watched any sport, in any version, cannot see that the confidence factor is very real.
  10. Good to see. Let's hope it's a smooth and long ride on this server. After all, nobody likes premature evacuations..
  11. So, you're saying we should assign some of our board members to evaluate him?
  12. If there was a bonafide O-line guy to draft AND, if you could get a trading partner, but otherwise we got a good look at a prospect who could be a valuable piece in our Non Import roster build up. How good? Well, like any draft pick with whom we have patience, we will see in due time. On the plus side, he's got a year's experience under his belt over this year's draft class.
  13. When you're this close to welcoming draft talent...you wait.
  14. More bold predictions.. There will be an incredible amount of hype and propaganda - on the the Argos and all the good things that will happen because they now have a permanent home. There will be an incredible amount of hype and propaganda - on the Riders...well, just because it's Saskatchewan, the only province that doesn't change their clocks back and forth for daylight saving time. It's not because they're being efficient, it's because there would be mass confusion when half the province does the exact opposite as the rest of the province. MBB will have a new feature that has a highlight so that when you want to rip into somebody on the Bombers, you just press @Name, and all the usual suspects will come up including MOS, the new OC, Richie Hall, Kyle Walters and a host others. Less work - more time for digs. Waldo will still be lost
  15. The man who used to be called Johnny Sizzles..
  16. The "force awakens" will be the new tag for the revamped Bomber offence.
  17. IMO, we are not that far off from the point total that this particular squad should be at. When you go with youth, as the Jets have, you have to expect some low points, but I don't believe that's where they failed. I agree with sweep, that a lack of disciplined play has cost us dearly, especially with the passive penalty killing we use. And the defensive play has to get better in our own zone. The responsibilities are getting messed up. But those are fixable. The young players are looking better and the trend for an upward surge is there for the future. The Jets have to make their decision on Ladd and Byfuglien, and transfer those stale assets into future value. Work the best deal, but get it done.
  18. 5 out of 10 points might have been good enough for a playoff team, but the Jets need more. Unfortunately, we've seen that the Jets can compete, as they took Dallas to the limit, but too many games have been frittered away, and those playoff points lost, will not be recovered.
  19. There seem to be a new category specifically designed for the Jets, and involves the touch or as known to Jet fans, "the Buff". Anything resembling a lean in or bump, especially if the guy goes down is called. Guys, who are bigger, like Byfuglien, and Myers, are targeted. Now, Chiarot has to be included for playing rough tag on a player. Talk about evening up on a penalty call.
  20. The word appreciate comes to mind for the continued efforts being put in for this site. Thank you.
  21. The NHL All Star game is reaching the status of the Pro Bowl...irrelevant.
  22. By leaps and bounds I would say.. Pretty well the definition of backup QB, although I like Nichols definition of "Starter in waiting"
  23. Don't know who picks the stars in Nashville but really? Ed Tait– Verified account ‏@WFPEdTait Connor Hellebuyck was named 2nd star, not first. I'm speechless Stafford was #1.
