  1. How can you even say Putin's name without spitting? Just like Wullerton, Saskatchewan...ptui.
  2. Let's face it. When Collaros went down, the East was thrown wide open. Any team, besides Montreal, who gets hot now, can win the East, but they have to have the QBing. The West, at this point, is strictly between Calgary and Edmonton, the 2 teams we have recently played well against. The key, of course, for us, is to invite Hank to our football party when we play the RedBlacks, for us to win that last playoff spot.

  4. Those long lines are nothing compared to the long lyings we've already been subjected to with the Conservatives...
  5. I believe it was Enstrom's stick that rolled up Tavares' stick and hit him in the face.
  6. That's encouraging. (The amount of the voters at the advanced polls).
  7. Poor start. Iffy calls. Off balance. Tavares. 3 periods, not one. Pavelec
  8. No lol Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz is one of the most renowned economists in the world. The Columbia University professor and former chief economist at the World Bank won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science in 2001 and has been one of the most vocal critics of globalization and global inequality. ...... Q: What, in your view, is wrong with a free-trade deal like the Trans-Pacific Partnership? A: These are not free-trade agreements. The point is, free-trade is a euphemism. It’s a managed trade deal that all sides put in provisions to manage the trade in their favour. The problem is … it’s not like the negotiations are happening between the Canadian people and the American people and the New Zealand people. It’s between the trade ministers. Historically, especially in the United States, it’s among the most influenced by special interests of the federal agencies. That’s where these agreements are becoming particularly bad. It used to be that trade agreements were negotiated over tariffs … the consumers gained. The new agreements are about getting rid of regulations. We’re talking about regulation over the environment, safety, economy, health. The consumers, who are not at the table, get screwed. 9. - 7 sacks - great to see that pressure. - in the "get a haircut" category ...Troy "don't give them an easy tackling target" Stoudermire. Otherwise, Stoudermire showed his versatility and rewarded the faith the Coaching staff had in him. Nice runs, and some clutch receiver work as a stand in and 2 tackles. - somebody found Castillo. Thank you somebody...at least for now. - still have to admire Cortez's attack plan on us in the 1st half and the execution by Jennings and his receivers. - then again, you really have to admire how Hall and the defence handled that same BC offence, in the second half. - Ian Wild. He has had an enormous impact on.special teams since his signing. Everybody now wants to get in on his special plays. Awesome leader, and pretty darn good on defence too. - Jamaal Westerman - 2 sacks, and 4 tackles. CFL sack leader. - Johnny Adams - 1int. and 4 tackles, 1 deflection. CFL interception leader. He helped spark that 2nd half defensive stand. - Maurice Leggett - sticker. That guy can hit. 6'tackles and 2 sacks. - Demond Washington - 4 tackles, 1 interception, and one red-face for next week's Sports Centre's highlight reel play....against him. - Khalil Bass - 5 tackles and 1 sack. - Mike O'Shea - thanks for putting the special back in Special Teams. This was a win. Finally, I'd like to say something nice about the offence, so - something nice about the offence. Other than that, I got nothing. But I did see Nichols frustration...in the play-calling...like thousands of other did.
  10. It was was a great comeback...no matter who we played...no matter that we've played bad in the past...no matter who is the mad hatter. You should just enjoy the moments when you have the opportunity.
  11. Gotta love the way Richie Hall and the defence, in the second half, straight-armed Jennings, Cortez, and Arcineaux. 3 points...nice.
  12. I was sitting, and watching, and trying to figure out how that extra point convert was going to be blocked or how that 1st FG was not going to count, (O'Shea called the time out because we were not set, and the clock was down to a second) - so there it was...our season gone becaus WE called the time out...but, ooo Sergio, so smooth.
  13. It's Bombers. Don't you just love it when an ignorant, disrespectful comment comes back to bite you?
  14. I was going to come and get you….
  15. You might say we got Brohm'd with that back up performance.
  16. Nice of the Jets to score in the same order as yesterday. Scheifele and Wheeler. 2-0 Jets!
  17. Winnipeg at BC - Game Notes - Season series on the line: And, obviously, our playoff spot. The Blue Bombers captured the first game in 2015 with 23-13 win over the Lions on Jul 30/15 on the strength of a 4-1 turnover advantage and a defence that held BC to just one TD drive despite 26 first downs. The Lions must therefore win this game by 11 points or more to take the season series via the tie-breaker. If the game ends up in a 10-point BC win, the situation would favour BC on the basis of a better divisional record. Jonathan Jennings: Threw 4 TD passes last week and became the 4th BC QB to ever do that in his first CFL season. Last week Edmonton at Winnipeg: The Bombers left 15 half points on the table in the final 37:55 of the game last week by missing FOUR field goals, a one-point convert (wide) and a two-point convert attempt (a 6-yard rushing loss). WPG Last week vs Edmonton: Despite missing several FG attempts, the Bombers offence really clicked against Edmonton over the final 30:42 of the game. After 5 straight two-and-outs to open the game, Winnipeg put together 314 yards offence in little more than half a game to close it creating 6 scoring opportunities (TD or FG attempt) in their last 7 drives. Last week Rene Paredes and Sean Whyte made game-winning, last play field goals clinching playoff spots for their club. The 2015 season has been the year of the game-winning FG, particularly when they have come in the final 3:00 of the game. BC’s Richie Leone has missed only once in the 4thr Quarter all season while Lirim Hajrullahu is 6-of-10 in the final 15:00 of games. Andrew Harris 100 yards: The Lions starting RB led the CFL in rushing as of Week #15 after gaining 100 yards on just 13 carries vs the Riders. It was his 11th career 100-yard game and third this season. In those 11 games, the Lions record is 9-2 – two of his 11 efforts of 100+ yards have come against Winnipeg while Edmonton has been the opponent three times. Matt Nichols 2nd half last week: Nichols went 14-of-20 for 239 yards and a TD pass in the second half alone last week. Nick Moore caught 4 of those 14 completions in the final 30:00 for 72 yards and a TD. Bo Lokombo: The Lions special team tackles leader ranks #2 in the CFL with 17 in 13 games. He has a current 8-game streak with at least one ST Tackle and 14 in total over that span. Ryan Phillips: The CFL’s active interceptions leader added his third of the season last week vs Saskatchewan and is now up to 43 for his career. He is now tied for #23 all-time and has made at least one in 11 consecutive seasons.  BC’s 35-point last week: The Lions scored 20 points in the 3rd Quarter last week to pull ahead 40-5. That lead was the largest they have had in a game this year but not quite as big as the pair of 38-point margins they built in games in 2014. 5 games with Bryan Burnham & Lavelle Hawkins: The Lions receiving corps added Burnham back in 5 games ago and since then he has 18 catches for 244 yards and a TD. Three of BC’s 5 wins this year have come when Burnham has started. Hawkins has had an immediate impact as well and over his 5-game run he has 19 catches for 340 yards for 2 TDs. Nick Moore last 3 games: The ex-BC Lion has had 16 catches for 286 yards in his last three starts averaging 95.3 yards per game. That total has included his first 3 receptions of 30+ yards this season and 6 second down conversion catches. Lirim Hajrullahu: Last week missed 4-of-5 field goal attempts along with a 32-yard convert. He is the first CFL kicker to miss 4 FGAs in one game since Ottawa’s Brett Maher went 0-for-4 on Aug 2/14. After starting off with 17 made field goals in his first 20 attempts this season, Hajrullahu has made only 5-of-12 since his final attempt on Sep 6/15 vs Saskatchewan. Richie Leone: After starting off making 14-of-15 FG attempts this season, Leone has made 8 of his last 14 attempts. Last week however, he hit 4-of-5 tries in the 46-20 win over Saskatchewan. Darvin Adams: Has played in each of the last 5 games and over that span has had two games where he was targeted 10 times. In 40 targets he has 22 catches for 272 yards and a TD. Jamaal Westerman: The CFL’s sack leader has recorded 9 sacks in his last 8 games and been blanked just once. Troy Stoudermire: Over his first 4 games, Stoudermire averaged just 7.2 yards on 21 punt returns. Over his last 4 games, he has averaged 12.3 yards per attempt in part due to his career-long 78-yard TD return against Edmonton last week. He is now up to two career punt return touchdowns. Mic’heal Brooks: Was named one the CFL Shaw Top Performers of the Week for his two sack effort against the Riders. He also added an interception in a dominating performance. As Hall of Fame CFL reporter-analyst Lowell Ullrich has pointed out, all five sacks were by BC defensive linemen and none linebackers or other defenders. T.J. Lee: Over his last 4 games, lee has 26 tackles (3 more than Adam Bighill) to go along with 3 QB sacks. He now has 62 tackles this season, good for #7 in the CFL.
  18. Difficulty, the special teams don't appear to be benefiting from all those extra lbs. Disagree. Ian Wild alone, is setting the pace, and practically defying anyone to be less productive.
  19. http://www.michaelgeist.ca/2015/10/canada-caves-on-copyright-in-tpp-commits-to-longer-term-urge-isps-to-block-content/ Canada Caves on Copyright in TPP: Commits to Longer Term, Urge ISPs to Block Content October 9, 2015 While the Canadian government has focused on issues like dairy and the auto sector, it caved on key copyright issues in the agreement. As a result, works will be locked out of the public domain for decades at a cost to the public of hundreds of millions of dollars. Moreover, the government will “induce” Internet providers to engage in content blocking even where Canadian courts have not ruled on whether the content infringes copyright. As a result (and as expected – this was raised years ago), the government’s “made in Canada” approach to copyright – which it has frequently touted as representing a balanced approach – faces a U.S. demanded overhaul. In fact, even as other countries were able to negotiate phase-in periods on copyright changes, the Canadian negotiators simply caved.....
  20. Finally, Gary has come around to our way of thinking... But really, a nice way to go out. Congrats!
  21. Hey, if special teams and our defence can operate better with that infusion of LBs, I'm all for it. Who really cares if there is an imbalance as to LBs,....as long as the plays are made and the game is won.
  22. Sask. at Hamilton - Game Notes - The Tiger-Cats come into this game with their first two-game losing streak of the year. - The Ti-Cats lost last week in the game after losing their #1 QB. That is the sixth such game across the CFL where a club lost their #1 – Edmonton and Montreal won the next week, while BC, Hamilton, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg lost. Last week’s start by Jeff Mathews broke a run of 23 straight starts by Zach Collaros (Hamilton went 16-7). - The Riders have not yet been eliminated but require help and a 4-game win streak. Mathematically, 16 games involve their playoff fate and 15 must go in their favour. BC must lose all five, Winnipeg must beat BC this week and lose their other games, the Riders must go 4-0, and Montreal must lose 4 of their 5 games - Last week’s #2 Riders QB, Brett Smith, came off the bench last week at BC and led three late drives. He engineered a TD drive and 111 yards of offence in the final 12:509 of the game. His record as a starter in 2015 is 1-5. - Weston Dressler - Over the last 4 games he has made more than 3 catches only once with totals of 12 receptions for just 94 yards and no TDs. He had 20 catches for 320 yards in his first 3 games of 2015, and only 29 for 270 yards in his last 8 games. - If Kevin Glenn starts this game for Saskatchewan it will be his 22nd career start against Hamilton and he has gone 14-7 thus far. That his best career record against any opponent among his 90-87-1 overall record as a starter. Glenn has generated more offence than any CFL QB this year on a per possession basis at 32.3 yards. - Last year Hamilton went 7-2 after the halfway point, this year they are 2-2 after a 6-3 first half. - The Ti-Cats have now started four different players at running back beginning with Ray Holley and moving on to injured #1 C.J. Gable, Nic Grigsby and last week Michael Ford in his return to the club. Overall, Hamilton has started 44 different players in 2015 including 8 offensive linemen. - Jerome Messam - Heading into this week, he trailed BC’s Andrew Harris (819) by just one yard in the rushing race. Messam had 42 yards last week and with 30 rushes of 10+ yards is 9 ahead of Harris in that stat category. - Justin Medlock - Ranks #2 this season at 88.2% on 30-of-34 FG attempts, but in his career he is the #1 all-time leader at 87.2% (min, 140 attempts). From 40 yards and in during 2015 he is a perfect 19-of-19. He leads the CFL in scoring with 137 points. - Ray Early - Has climbed up to #3 in the CFL at 45.1 yards per punt and #2 in net punting at 37.6 yards. He has 23 punts of 50+ yards this year. - The Riders blocked TWO kicks in their game at BC Place last week (Knox: convert and Monroe: punt). It was the first time in over 6 years that a club had blocked two kicks in the same game (BC had two on July 3, 2009). - Over the season’s first 11 games, the Tiger-Cats were +22 in the Turnover department. Over their last two games they have gone -7. Despite that, Hamilton leads the CFL by far at +15.
  23. The Jets have a better Offensive Coordinator than the Bombers.. Nice to see the Jets get back on their game in the second period, but they better thank Pavs for giving them that chance. Aw, poor Bruins...(not really)
  24. CFL Notes And Trends - - 3rd down successful gambles are down this year so far... - Week #15 contests averaged 53.0 points per game, the 4th consecutive week that scoring has increased over the previous 4-game set. Scoring was consistent across all four games. Net offence average 733 yards per game, the second- highest average of the 2015 season to date. - Week #15 averaged 22.8 penalties reducing the season average to 24.3 per game, the lowest it has been all year. Over the last 15 CFL games, penalty totals have averaged only 22 per game in what has been a year-long downward trend. - With their loss last week, the Alouettes (5-8) are now two and half games behind Toronto (7-5) but have a huge game head-to-head against the Argos to end Week #16. The Als’ current run of 19 consecutive years in the playoffs is the second-longest in league history and only Edmonton at 34 years in a row (1972-2005) has a longer one. - On the 32 yard converts - Of late, kickers have dropped off yet again. In the last 7 games, CFL kickers have missed SIX times going just 22-of-28 and at least one has been missed in 16 of the most recent 32 games. For the season, the overall result is now at 212-of-245, 86.5%. - The rule change for limiting downfield coverage on punts is having its effect as the season goes along. Eight players are averaging 10 or more yards per attempt led by Chad Owens at 15.6 yards per try. The average punt return in 2015 through Week #15 was up a full yard at 10.3 compared to 9.3 in 2014, an increase of 11%. - How about rubbing in our loss a little more against Edmonton? Edmonton’s Sean Whyte made his under field goal of 53 yards, a distance from which he had never been successful before then. The only longer attempt Whyte had ever tried before came on Jul 27/12 against Toronto – that too being a last-play attempt and trailing 20-23. That one was from 54 yards and fell one yard short. Whyte is 10-of-11 overall in 2015. - Troy Stoudermire of Winnipeg returned a punt 78 yards for a TD for his first of the season joining Brandon Banks who extended his lead in that category with a fourth punt return touchdown. That raised the number of total kick return TDs to 13 in 2015, 12 of which have been punts. That makes the most in one season since 2005 (13). - Surviving Turnovers -This season it seems that CFL clubs are finding ways to win in games where they commit more giveaways. Last season only 12 games were won by clubs making more than the opposition, only 17% of the games overall (12-59 .169). In 2015, 12 clubs have already won when giving the ball away more than their opponent (12-39. 235), and this is led by Calgary and Ottawa. Calgary has won 4 times and Ottawa 3 times with more turnovers, and this was the case in each of their Week #15 wins. - Defensive TDs and Blocked Kicks - There was just one made last week but it raised the total to 31 in 2015, one less than all of last year. In 2015 the blocked kick total is now up to 13 with Hamilton and Saskatchewan at 4 apiece. The Riders blocked TWO kicks in their game at BC Place last week (Knox: convert and Monroe: punt). It was the first time in over 6 years that a club had blocked two kicks in the same game (BC had two on July 3, 2009).
  25. The Alouettes have added 6 players to their practice roster on Thursday. Int.CB. Will Brown, Int. OL Vincent Brown and receivers - Int. Jonathan Bryant, Jonathan Rumph and.....Jerry Rice Jr. Also NI rec......Kelvin Muamba.
