  1. Really? That sounds more like people getting pissed off because they are getting held up...probably without knowing why at first. Frankly, that is a snitty example of people's biases.
  2. Welcome. I've seen your work and appreciate it. Please do post some along the way..and good work spreading the word with your kids.
  3. You just have to listen to Rick Mercer as he puts the PM's feet to the fire in regards to the investigation by the RCMP into the Prime Minister's Office for criminal wrongdoing. And if the PM controls the message as much as people seem to agree on, well…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=750WMkyWeuA 1:46
  4. It's more interesting to not recognize that even in bias reporting, the facts still must be presented. and if you want to take the pun out of everything (see, I did it again ) and you don't agree with the NY Times, I'll give you the words of a prominent Dr. who has added to the debate: I do not like your government I do not like your squelched dissent I do not like your sneery ads I do not like your slimy lads I do not like your thought control I do not like your budget hole I do not like your science cuts I don not like your right-wing nuts I do not like your robocall I do not like your gang at all I do not like your open contempt I do not like your prorogue pre-empt I do not like your ruination Of air and lakes and reputation I do not like your senate scams I do not like your Tax-paid spams I do not like your corporate masters Nor your foreign policy disasters Your scorn for treaties, scorn for facts Your anti-democratic acts And on and on and on and on I do not like you Steve the Con
  5. Harper goes beyond trying to control the message, he is a control freak. This should be evident now as he is screening invitees to get his message across. He pays a visit to Winnipeg and the Conservative party had sent out invitations to a "special event" in the Manitoba capital BUT did not disclose a location for the event. If you register at the party's website..you will be screened. That's our PM
  6. Lol that's like quoting the Sun on a Trudeau article. NYT openly leans to the left. you might want to look into that a little bit. New York Times was the number one cheerleader of the invasion of iraq. They actually had an editorial apology for their role in that invasion. pretty sure that is not one of the invasions lefties like. their main opinion writer is friedman, who is not even slightly "left " The New York times is not left at all. In fact it's despised by most left thinkers. aside from that, did you read the article, and if you did, are there errors of fact in it? I haven't read the article, and have no opinion on it. Well that's the thing isn't it? The article is just pointing out what has already happened and is happening now. Ther is nothing in there that is flattering because ther is nothing in there to be flattered about. It really doesn't matter who wrote it, it's making people aware that, right now we don't have a very good PM, in fact, he could go down as one of the worst. As to it being in a left leaning news source? How else would that info come out. It's not like the right leaning papers would want to revisit this stuff.
  7. Well it does beg the question, on a short week, with one scheduled practice and a QB making his first start, you have a storm forecasted during the practice, and the coaching staff does nothing? Seems odd to me. O'Shea stated that they did move up practice 20 minutes...so there.
  8. My guess is there was some type of conflict/fight between the two of them. I'd love it if the Bombers traded for Bowman. Bryant Turner for Bowman? Can't believe John Bowman is a healthy scratch, his replacement must be something else. Pretty sure there's more to this story... 7h7 hours ago John Lu ‏@JohnLuTSNMtl 2/2 #Alouettes Tom Higgins decided that Bowman "needed a break" with Mtl playing 3 games in 13 days. Discussed move with Bowman last Sunday.
  9. I think it's time for Khari to come home, he will probably jump at the first OC offer that comes his way. Miller should have some sway. Whole-heartedly agree. I'm not a fan of the Chap-man, but Khari...come home.
  10. 8 - the number of sacks by the Eskimos. 8 - the number of 1st downs by the Alouette Offence. 8 - as in Montreal is 8th place in the league. (Put that in next week's power rankings)
  11. - That D pass interference better be overturned. No chance...ball gone by..the play was over. Yes, correct call was made. - Jordan Lynch...ST sniper and QB sneak extraordinaire. Has his own cheering section. You wanna guess what they're called?
  12. - SJ Green can't do it alone or even with one hand. (What a grab) - that Edmonton defence is ripping the cape right off of Cato. - TD saving knockdown by White. - 3 first downs for Montreal?
  13. Man, there's some good defensive plays being made out there.
  14. Too bad. This isn't the Logan Ave. Comfort Station you know.
  15. You just have to look at what Sask did against Toronto...barely losing with a rookie QB and a league high 24 penalties. We just have to make less mistakes than the Argos, and keep that flated football in our possession and let the penalty-prone Toronto team do their thing. (Be nice if Jhomo can surprise them too)
  16. CFL news - Week 8 Edmonton at Montreal - Matt Nichols and James Franklin split reps this week at QB but Nichols ended up getting the bulk of the work. - "No regrets" was how it was phrased over the decision to gamble on 3rd and 4 over attempting a 48 yd. FG. Apparently, Shaw starts to get "iffy" in that range. Having said that, it's also reported that Grant Shaw has had a perfect start to 2015 making 15-of-15 field goals. That extends his streak to a career-high 21 consecutive FGs made as he hit his final 6 attempts last year. The Edmonton club record is held by Sean Fleming with the 10th longest streak in CFL history at 22 (Sep-Oct 2001). - Mike Reilly is still expected to be out another 3-5 weeks - No A. Bowman or Chad Simpson for the game - injured - Edmonton lost last week at BC after holding a 13-point lead and were outscored 9-0 in the final 15:00. The last time Edmonton failed to hold a 13+ point lead and not win was on Sep 28/13 vs Toronto. Last week was only the second time since 2008 the Esks’ have blown a 13+ point lead. - Edmonton is #1 in the CFL in forcing opponents into 2nd-&-long situations: 95 times in 138 second down situations. - Edmonton has forced at least 3 Turnovers in each of their last 5 games. Their defence has allowed no TDs in 49 opponent possessions at home; on the road 7 TDs allowed in 49 drives. - The Esks have allowed only one punt return of more than 16 yards and one kickoff return of greater than 30 yards all season. Montreal - released 3 players from its roster - kicker Sean Whyte, receiver Dobson Collins and linebacker Bryn Roy. - Montreal is winless away from home this year and 3-9 since 2014; however they return home this week to where they are 2-1 in 2015 and 8-4 under Coach Higgins (2014-15). All three of their road losses have been by 3 points or less. - If Rakeem Cato starts this game, that will make it 5 different QB starters for Montreal in each of their last 5 games vs. Edmonton (Calvillo, Neiswander, Smith, Crompton and Cato). - Rakeem Cato ranks #5 in the CFL in passer rating at 96.9 but his drive success (TD%) ranks only #9. The Als' Red Zone production ranks #9 in the CFL at just 45% (3-of-9 in last 3 games). Cato is 2-0 at home as a starter but 0-3 on the road. - Montreal is the best at converting on 3rd-&-1 this season making 9-of-11 tries. - Montreal has yet to record a defensive TD this season in a year where there have been 14 already. - S.J. Green is the only Montreal receiver in the Top 25 after seven weeks. He is #1 in the CFL with 539 yards on pace for a career-high 1,617 yards. He has 11 second down conversion catches and recorded career reception #400 last week going over the 6,000 yard mark. - On a per game basis, Montreal has run the ball more times than any other CFL club (21.3 times per game). - Montreal was +4 on turnovers in their first 4 games; they have been -5 in the last two contests.
  17. CFL notes - - Three times this season, the Bombers have lost Willy mid-game. When he has been in the game the Bombers trail opponents by only a 121-133 scoring margin (-12). When he has been sidelined, Winnipeg has been outscored 77-19 (-58). In 2015, with Willy in charge of their offence, the Bombers have averaged 25.0 yards per drive, without him that average drops by 59% to just 15.3 yards per drive (23 total possessions). Ha - this will all change this Friday!! - Last week, Mike O’Shea became the first head coach in 2015 to get a DPI call overturned by challenge. The previous three DPIs called and challenged were NOT overturned. In 2014, 6 DPI calls were challenged and only two were successful. - Last week, Winnipeg rebounded strongly in the second half and stopped Hamilton’s offence cold. They did not allow a TD by the Ticats’ offence and limited them to just 100 net yards and only 6 first downs. - The Bombers drew only 5 penalties last week and that is a 2015 CFL-team low by any club. It is the lowest single-game penalty total by Winnipeg since they had just 4 calls on Oct 18/14 vs Calgary. By week of late, their penalty total has dropped from a season-high of 18, down to 10 and then just 5 last week. - Toronto has won 8 of the last 10 meetings but the 2014 season series was split with each team winning at home. The Argos have a remarkable streak having won 6 of their last 7 visits to Winnipeg. - Since 2011, the Bombers are just 5-16 (.238) without their #1 having lost Buck Pierce and Willy at times. When their #1 is in the lineup they have gone 24-34 (.414). When Toronto has been without their #1 QB, they have thrived at 12-8 (.600). - The Argos are coming off yet another comeback win and have now recorded come-from-behind victories in all four of them in 2015. They have rebounded from deficits of 4, 10, 21 and 8 points to reach 4-2. - The Argonauts have been outscored 58 to 104 in the first 30:00 of games (-46); over the rest of the games in 2015 they hold a 108-59 scoring edge (+49). BUT - Toronto has scored just 3 points in the 1st Quarter over the last 3 games but no less than 21 points total in the other three quarters.
  18. I don't know if I'm just being optimistic, but it seemed to me the rulings were drifting more to this interpretation. Touching, when playing the ball and having a clue to what's happening in the game should be considered fair play.
  19. Interesting that you don't mention what the economy has been going through with the current Fed. Gov. Yeah, stupid Harper and his plans hurting the entire world markets. What Harper did to Greece is ridiculous. What we need is a strong NDP government to come in, raise taxes, destroy jobs in Canada's energy sector and increase spending. That will save the whole world. ;-) It's weird that even with the evidence what the Harper Gov. is spinning badly that the NDP are being mentioned, when their name has not been brought up. It's what we have. The Liberals, the NDP, and the Conservatives. Again, I want to stipulate that I'm not endorsing anybody..just trying to make people aware that our Gov. needs to do better than what we have been presented with by the current party in charge.
  20. The Cons have already stacked that deck in the best way they could…a very long election period when the Cons have built up the largest war chest of any party. And, of course, the taxpayer will also pay more , seeing as a longer campaign costs more. Oh, and the parties are also reimbursed for half the money they spend during the campaign. Must be nice to see the taxpayer pay half…for all the bickering and attacks.
  21. Interesting that you don't mention what the economy has been going through with the current Fed. Gov.
  22. You'd be better off talking to a good investment advisor. They know their stuff and can relate to the market in a way that circumvents whichever Political party is in charge. Doesn't mean you have to ignore which party you feel most comfortable with.
  23. It doesn't look to me that Marve 'prefers' receivers - he's so happy just to be starting. He knows all these receivers anyways and the NI boys know their routes very well. They'll be just fine. Anyways, when was the last time a Bomber offence used 4 Imp. receivers? And I think Veltung is probably 'dinged' just enough to be a secondary choice. Still, i don't think it will matter to Marve.
  24. Speaking of digits...it turns out Neufeld broke his thumb on the 2nd offensive play of the game..and played through the discomfort.
  25. Marve has no thoughts along that line, so, why do you? He's only thinking a W - as in Win.
