The trouble comes with how quickly those opinions change back and forth...... I'll get back to you on that..

Man that guy is pumped and happy and anxious, and did I mention pumped? If his enthusiasm rubs off on the rest of the team, in any way..we got this.

Official (As Per Twitter): Marve Starts Friday
Mr Dee replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Nobody wants any of our QBs to suck. I think we all want solid depth from #1 right on through to #4, with teams calling us about blessed wealth. But c'mon, we've all seen what can happen and did happen and we're all afraid of what might happen. It all started with Brohm, with Marve in the background. Brohm failed and Marve had 2 good innings, and we all want him to succeed so badly, we can taste it. No pressure, right? If he can keep his head, he'll do alright. And alright, with a stellar D and ST might just be enough. But hey, Brohm is still the backup QB. and he probably still has his believers in MOS and MB. Add Steve Morley to that list. He thinks if Brohm gets a decent chance, he'll surprise a few people. Whatever. Somebody step up and do the damn job. -
In case you missed that little clip of Justin Veltung during the game, and his amazing 56" standing box jump, take a look, and you will be amazed... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQKFURKfRDQ&feature=player_detailpage

[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch 3.0 Has Ended
Mr Dee replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Hmm, let's review. You argued that O'Shea should not have played Willy in the BC game (a game we won - probably because of Willy) Then we play Hamilton and Willy gets injured anyways in a kind of freak play where he jumps, and lands awkwardly while being tackled. It hasn't even been determined it's a related injury, just a related leg. So, what would we have gained by sitting Willy out, to rest, in that game versus BC? Oh yeah, a loss. -

You'll find that that argument won't fly on this forum either. -
[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch 3.0 Has Ended
Mr Dee replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
From this point onwards, whoever is playing QB, is going to have to be supported by a stellar defence and mistake-free special teams play. We simply can't afford the brain farts that have been plaguing this team so far this year. Whether or not Willy got injured, what we have here is an exposé for a flawed system. What we are doing on offence for Willy - just wasn't working. Everybody can see this, but we somehow cannot fix it. Other teams use mediocre OLmen and prevent sacks while we open the door and say have at 'er boys. Unfortunately, it's taken an injury to our hope for a playoff chance to slap the Coaches' face and wake somebody up. I hope. -

I think Austin is an idiot for not giving his backup QB reps. when he has ample opportunity to do so. By not preparing another QB to step up, Ham. is one bad Collaros sack from trashing their GC aspirations, and if he goes down in the playoffs they''ll be screwed. In my mind, Austin should have pulled his team's future some time in the 4th quarter, but certainly not at the half. Unless your QB is injured, he starts the half. We did get somewhat back in the game. -

Now we have to address the backup QB position. A position we seemingly hoped would work itself out over time. The best case scenario is that one, or both QBs step up. The likely scenario is that both Brohm and Marve will be gone next year. The playoff position just got pushed further away from our grasp...and somebody's going to have to come to the rescue...or, more of the other team's QBs go down, and we sneak in with B Smith-caliber QBing. Not a good picture, but at least that damned Marve-Brohm situation will be settled once, and for all. -

Pull a QB at the half? Who does that? No one. Believe it or not the game was still on the line after we scored...with Drew Willy. 31-8 Then we did provide 2 more opportunities when we turned the ball over twice. We failed to score, but you have to understand that it could have been 31-22 or 31-24...with Drew Willy in the game. What happened to Drew Willy was a freak jump-land-weird thing that could have happened at any time...like the start of the next game. I guess by that logic, Austin is an idiot for starting Collaros in the 2nd half. -
Hey, it only takes the 1st mistake for the events to be catastrophic. Think dominoes. Ask Austin how well he had his ST coach Taylor Reed to not block to the rear that cancelled Bank's TD return. Spit happens.
-
You're right, I don't think many teams can overcome a start like that. However, I feel teams that are well coached and fully prepared don't let it happen to them. Hamilton is a good team and are very well coached. I just can't see them in the same hole. They come to compete. You know a tipped ball can happen to anyone? A blocked punt? We've already done that. And a mistake by a Kick returner? You can't coach that. Spit happens...

Jake Thomas had a good game. Zac Anderson had a good game. Johnny Adams had a good game. Westerman, Johnson, and Randle played well. We did get 5 sacks. They never pulled Colaros. But yet their offence didn't feast. Our D had a hand in that. We did get stomped, but it's not like we didn't foot them with the boots.

There is a hell of a lot of good in naturopathic medicine, and it needs to be looked at more and more. I'm not familiar with homeopathic methods, but I do know it falls under the "umbrella" of naturopathic medicine. The word quackery is thrown around pretty easily by some and should be reserved for use by Daffy and the boys. Bad medicine and bad medicine practices are still lurking in the background, and the whole system needs to be looked at.

Not many teams can survive the blowing winds of adversity after only 8 minutes. I wonder if the Ti-cats recover right away from a tipped pass TD return, blocked punt recovered on their 23 yard line, or the successful kick off recovery at their own 28 yard line? Food for thought.

This is where we separate the real from the unreal, the bold from the meek, the runner from the gunner...let's face it...we're in deep trouble. No matter where you stand on the badup QBs, both sides are going to be proved right.

Hits, contact all stem from a failure to keep the qb clean, nothing freakish about that. Yeah, Darian Durant totally agrees with you.. -
I don't know about you guys, but I was super impressed on Veltung's vertical jumping ability. That seems impossible to jump from a standstill, up to one's armpits and land....balanced.
-
No, that would be wrong. And, of course, 2 would be right?
-
If I said 4 games, would that be quibbling?
-
Yeah, I didn't see them call off the blitzes and as a matter of fact, Collaros was still in the game...until the end. But today, we were not going to beat them.
-
And Rod Black babbling every time Hamilton got a sack....but did he mention, even once, when the Bombers did? No. Hamilton 7 sacks. Winnipeg 5 sacks.
-
Don't know why people won't just admit that Hamilton has very good D personnel and who have a Coach who is prepared to use them in a capacity that suits their talents. They used that superior quality to completely bam-boozle an average O-line, coached by an average OC. We still don't have an answer to those maniacal blitzes, and I don't think too many teams will. As to our defence, they were fine..for the most part. Like Goalie said, is it the D's fault we practically gave them 21 pts? But make no mistake, Hamilton beat us and are the better team...for now. (We did beat them in the 2nd half though haha 8-7)

Could have been an interesting game between these two teams but it looked like Harris played down to the level of where Smith wants to play. Smith did make a few thing happen, but I am still unimpressed with that sling throwing motion. Saskatchewan cannot play that kind of undisciplined game and expect to win. 27% of that game involved penalties and that can never be a good thing. On this I totally agree with Milt. You can have a Coach preach a good disciplined game but it's still the players who can't jump offside, nor move illegally on the line, nor push/pull the opposition after the play, nor grab a jersey, nor grab a face mask, nor block in the back 30 yards from the play. And on and on and on. It's the players, plain and simple.
