Usually, I don't like the Bombers to play the 1st game of the week. They haven't had the greatest success with playing 1st. This week, however, it wIll be a pleasure to watch CFL action. Monday features a battle for the Eastern lead, Toronto in Hamilton. Should be a good game for "Austin Angst" Saturday, maybe Montreal can do us a favour by defeating Calgary, those lucky flakes. But tonight, (spoiler alert for Sask. fans) we get to see the dismantling of the Roughriders when they visit Edmonton. The question is, how many QBs will Sask. use?

I feel the 3rd and 21 call was: A) a distractionary tactic thrown in by Lirim to take people's minds off those gawd awful punts to the corners. extreme confidence in Sherman to shake 7-8 tackles and get the yardage. OR C) a topic to follow for weeks to replace the Marve-Brohm dissension. D) a failed bullet for the anti-MOS firing crowd to complain about.

Not to mention Washington's great recovery in the endzone in knocking the ball away from the receiver. Reminded me of how school yard football was played. Still unclear why Dunigan thought that was pass interference . . . It was pretty close. Washington made a very good recovery and made a great play. It might have gone either way, and not been overturned either way. My impression is that because Washington hit the ball as he hit the receiver's arm, he got away with it.

Actually, it was just an amazing coincidence as I was on my 4th round of draft when you posed that question and in our group was a guy named John O'Hara. How weird is that?

Lulay had several issues last night. But they only started after that Lion Pride march downfield on their 1st possession. Yes, there were plays when he had too much time, but those didn't kill us. Lulay got to hear 1st hand, crowd noise, and it bothered him. Throw in enough pressure from our defensive rushes and you end up with turnovers. They say that BC have allowed the least sacks so far this year, and we saw that when Lulay threw the ball down a couple of times. But it was the consistent pressure guys who never quit, that caused Lulay to toss 3 ints. Well, actually, one of them was an outstanding athletic play from Johnny Adams when he laid out and stole the ball from the receiver's hands. Outstanding!

What an important game to win in so many ways..for tonight..for the IGF fans..for 3rd place positioning..for the team psyche..to fight back from that opening drive where it looked quite dismal..and to stuff it to the nitpickers and naysayers who predicted a thrashing.

Also have to mention that Marcel B.'s game plan tonight was quite brilliant. Good mix and confidence. Moved the ball around, ran the ball and used his receivers...and Veltung. Looks like MB worked on this game plan for more than 1 practice. And Marshall...give this guy the ball.

Have to give congrats on whoever thought that K. Bass guy was any good. Yeah, he's any good. 10 tackles and contain.

Good Gawd, we have ourselves a quarterback. What a gutsy performance with pinpoint passing. And, oh yeah, he out rushed that Lulay guy.

Officials are allowed to move, and there is more than one official on the field. The player in question has the ball...somebody should have eyes on him. Furthermore...it's the QB and that's a position the league has said must be protected. Somebody f'd up, and a player got fined, and our QB got dinged...again. Seems to happen to our QB...no flags..more often than it should.

These are our practice roster jokes, you know jokes-in-training, where young jokes are developed into quality full roster Sask. jokes. Of course, it's no fair this year, as you are already providing full roster jokes on your own.

You know when I said that Jones was an donkey because he was blitzing until the end of the game against the Bombers? Forget that. I hope the Jone's defence blitzes right into the post game interviews. (Jones is still a donkey)

It's coming to the point where I really dislike both those guys...for no apparent reason, just from all the negativity surrounding the debate. **(separate note to scouting staff) Please find us an undisputed up-and-comer-young good QB who will blow the incumbents out of the water. (Never mind, we'll then just start railing on Willy)

You're probably right and that's where MB needs to be creative with screens, hitch passes, quick hits, counters etc to circumvent that pressure. While your logic is sound, I don't know if I've seen a well executed screen nor hitch pass by the Bombers in, well, years. I've seen a couple of quick throws but the only counters I've seen are in the Bomber Store.

I believe this whole Marve - Brohm brouhaha has been somehow created by the Roughriders to take our attention away from their 0-5 start and the subsequent happiness that that record brings us. Killjoys!

Wow, and here I thought Willy was performing even better than he was last year. You know, by reading the D better and reacting by throwing TDs, by running when he didn't last year, by throwing the ball away instead of getting sacked. You know, the little things that turn a good QB into a very good one..no matter what label you give him.

Brohm has been an absolute disaster in relief work, that is, combined with the dumbed-down play calling. I used to trust that Brohm would be better starting, because of more rep time, but that now has gone the way of the dodo. He simply should be better.Marve should come in as relief. If only for a change of pace. But the thing is, is he ready for backup or just relief? Which brings up our whole package of backup QBs. Certainly Marve should be in position to overtake Brohm for #2 by now. If he isn't, then something is wrong...the QBs...the assessment of the QBs, or the whole damned scenario. I just find it hard to believe somebody, somewhere in the Org. (QB Coach, MB, MOS, Danny MaC) can't do something about this tenuous QB situation.
