  1. No, it won't be an easy game for sure. But why do insist in trying to take some of the lustre off a great victory in a tough place for us? We also had injuries. Those are the teams that played. And weren't we the ones down 8 points in the 3rd quarter? And then scored 2 touchdowns to win the game. I personally don't think their starting QB could have stopped those 2 TDs. Lots of shtuff has happened to us and we've said that they were close games. This close game, we won.
  2. There's really only one thing I'd change on offence....the way that Willy slides...somersaults..or whatever you call what what he does. That boy has got to learn how to slide, and not from Buck. I've never seen Willy attempt to Buck Pierce or Mike Reilly it. I think he's pretty good about goin down when he should. As long as he's not trying to lower his head in traffic he's good. No, no, you misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm strictly talking about sliding - not running whenever and however you want. Buck was one of the worst sliding QBs going...and Willy's style of sliding cannot be described. He may go down soon enough, but how he goes down, can only be described as...unorthodox.
  3. Ed Tait Free Press - the Bomber attack piled up 452 yards on 10 possessions and of those 10 drives there were zero two-and-outs. Just how incredible is that? In 460 games since 2008 (when the league first began recording possession results), only five CFL clubs have gone through a game without a two-and-out drive. The only other time was by Hamilton on July 21, 2012. ****And... It was the balance," said Cotton, who pointed to the offence rushing 25 times and passing for the exact same amount. "We had execution all the way around from the quarterback to the receivers to the centre, the interior of the O-line and the outside. When everybody does their job like that, it makes my job easier. "The new guys on the O-line came in, they communicate well already. The sky's the limit."
  4. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that having a load of manure dumped on your front lawn is a marriage proposal in Saskatchewan. Or at least a gesture of endearment.I thought it was looked upon as a right of....passage.
  5. Too funny, what a load of manure..
  6. I don't think Hurl was unproductive, I just think he didn't stand out. In the defence we played, everybody has to do their job, be it to fill a gap, or avoid a block or follow the flow. Overall, we did that. When we didn't...a couple of long runs resulted. I think our weakest position came at safety and Moe being back at safety should correct some of what went wrong. More attention to what the guys were actually supposed to do will result in better contain. And besides, Hamilton doesn't use the run very much. It's that sharp passing game that I'm a little worried about.

  8. TrueBlue Posted 28 June 2015 - 08:17 PM Thought I saw a non-call on Glenn when he shovelled a pass to absolutely no one when being rushed on a particular play. Ball didn't even come close to crossing the line of scrimmage. Yes, that friggin' throwaway was definitely a friggin' throwaway and cost us a friggin' sack!!
  9. I just don't want us to get tested if an injury befalls Willy, for the same reasons as the Coaches. I wouldn't move our backup QB from his current position...especially in a trade, especially now that there is a dearth of serviceable QBs.
  10. Mike Reilly is a damned fine QB. The trouble is, he's set his own QB standard, and he's set it high. His first year's performance was one to sit back, watch, and marvel at. But he won't be able to do that all the time. Nor should he. The question then becomes, can he limit his running style, without affecting his on-field performance? I looked at Collaros so far this year and I've noticed he's much more stable in the pocket. His tendency to scramble has petered off and he's becoming more effective. Can he keep it up? We'll begin to notice more starting this Thursady. Let's hope the Bombers have a little more oomph in their defensive attack that will alter how Collaros performs.
  11. I don't mind this at all. It only seems fair to recognize good performances where all the players in a week deserve it. And these are the exact players who should be singled out. Bravo.
  12. Pretty well how I see it....through my tier-stained eyes.
  13. Are you one of the Righteous Brothers? Would have to be the other Righteous Brother. OK, so maybe I was thinking of the Self-Righteous Brothers.
  14. BC should either be unranked because they haven't played yet or, at best, get a ranking ahead of the teams that lost. The CFL rankings are more accurate and take into consideration whom the teams beat, or conversely, who they lost to. The QB injuries will have a major effect on Montreal, Edmonton and Sask. - in that order, IMO. Whereas Edmonton could have been battling for first, they will now battle for a playoff spot along with Sasatchewan. BC is still an unknown, but they should be in the hunt, at least until we see them play a game. Winnipeg's powerful offensive showing should give them a lead in battling for second in the West. Hamilton and a surprising Toronto team will start the year 1 and 2. Ottawa finally can see some hope with Montreal being hooped right off the bat. Bring on week 2 although I'm a little leery about playing Hamilton with that last Hamilton whooping fresh in mind.
  15. Are you one of the Righteous Brothers?
  16. The guy who looks like he belongs in Sask...... Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) - Signed kicker/punter Hugh O'Neill to the practice roster.
  17. And here are the posts praising the Bombers for the same type of trash talk: I saw that too. What most people didn't see, because I doubt it was on TV, was at the game during player intros, there was a sort of stage area for the players to stand on the field. The rest of the Bombers were doing as they should and watching from their sideline, but Dom Picard was marching around on the field just inside their stage area on the field. Small thing but it looked like he was trying to show the Riders a little disrespect. I loved it! Love it!! You were "that" kid, who always finked in class, weren't you?
  18. I believe it would have been considered a safety (2 points) if it was considered at all.
  19. Can't agree with that statement.
  20. We should ask Kerry Fraser. In reference to that momentum thing, it could actually be real. Something about if, in the opinion of the ref, it wasn't a conscious decision to enter the end zone, but rather the momentum of the kicked ball that carries him thru and out of bounds, then it is not a safety. It should be checked however..as it is a safety issue.
  21. I'm kind of flabbergasted that so many top players (read mostly QBs) went down in week 1. I'm with you in that I want the best of the best on the field to give our game the chance to entertain us to the fullest degree. And these aren't piddling injuries. Don't know yet about Reilly, but I'm afraid Durant may be done.
  22. From the eyes of one slightly excited Bomber fan... 1st off, let me say - this is the Drew Willy we all knew and wanted back. Clarence Denmark - our solid veteran meet Nick Moore, our other solid veteran. Each got receptions totalling 94 yards. Bombers seemed very disciplined but each team took 14 penalties - Bombers for 167 and the Riders 105 Go figure. Our D line lost the battle in the trenches tonight. Blitzes were off..didn't notice any stunts. There were some but they were ineffective. There's work to be done there. 2nd off, let me say - this is the Paris Cotton we all knew and wanted back. 108 yards on the ground and 59 in the air. But it was the way he ran. Dipsying and doodling in around would be tacklers. He was on a mission. Darian Durant looked good, not great, but good, right up to his injury. Our boy was better. Oh, and Sask's run blocking is still pretty good. They used a couple different looks and ripped off some good yardage on us. But this can be fixed. Not sold on our D-line and line backing, but it's early in the season and we can definitely adjust. On that same note, credit should be given to Sask's O-Line as they did do a very good job in blocking. Our D-Line definitely had the effort, so it should only get better. Also, worthy of note...their vaunted D-Line did not fare any better. I don't know what I expected from our O-line, especially after the first (and only) sack, but what I saw pleasantly surprised me. We could run, we could protect and we held off a pretty good D-line. Drew Willy was spinning and running tonight, but for goodness sakes, can somebody other than Buck Pierce show him how to slide? How many drives did we sustain tonight? And there's a new Marshall in town. Like Another TSN treat - a bloody interview while the game is on. This time we hear about Heenan's wardrobe. Sigh. Marcel Bellefeuille - being on the sidelines sure made him a better OC eh?.....good job MB Bombers beat the Riders in both halves 15-14 and 15-12 The Bombers got the ball back with a little over 2 minutes left in the game...and the Riders never saw it again. When was the last time that happened? Great distribution of passes. Did I mention what a great game Drew Willy had?
  23. Nah, he was only a foot away.
  24. We won because we got answers. We answered every time they put us down and scored on us. Very impressive.
  25. Not quite the QB DD I was looking for. Two possibilities: We're moving a QB (unlikely - when has anybody traded for one of our QBs?) Or, more likely, the Bombers were not satisfied with their QB stable and are keeping their eyes downfield for a real prospect. Either way, I'm glad the Bombers are still looking.
