What you're saying goes without saying...I just wish it did go without saying.

I definitely appreciate all the Bomber reports gbill. Seriously. And it's not just because they don't include any save % regarding Pavelec.

If you dont think Burmi has talent, then you're not a very good judge of talent.Burmistrov is very talented. Perhaps a bit more maturity and a different Coach will make a world of difference in his game.

I expect to see a fully capable starting lineup this early summer with the Offence taking the lead as they did early last year. New line, better Identified RBs and a refreshed QB. The secondary should be very good and the 'new' group of LBs will be miles ahead of where we left off last year. Our D line looks thin at depth at this point, but still should field solid starters. I'm not worried about the receivers, as I expect at least 1 to jump up and take the lead. What we do have to do is learn to win again, starting from putting together drives and keeping our QB healthy, and getting angry when we don't. We have to learn to punish on defence and any chest thumping we do better be because we stopped the opposing O behind the line of scrimmage - not after a 5 yard gain. I want the excitement of rushing the QB again with the expectation that we will be getting to them. Did we fill that hole? In a way, we did, by removing the biggest impediment we had last year - the DC. I'm most excited for the LB corp this year because if they plugged that hole with a gooder, then we've won half the battle we worried about from last year. At times, last year, I felt we were playing D with only 11 men. And to me, that's the biggest hole we had.

That's still a better % than your Pavelec arguments . -
Round 1 - Game 3 : Ducks @ Jets
Mr Dee replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
The Jets are a decent team, no doubt, but the Ducks have the overall edge...right now. They've beaten us because they employed a very intense forechecking system that the Jets were only now learning to figure out. The Ducks are quite used to using this attack and their record in third period comebacks shows they are very good at it. Break that forechecking down...and the Ducks can be defeated. Sounds easy, right? -
Exactly. So when one of our RBs hits the 1500 yd mark this year, will it mean it's due to the preoccupation of the D on the passing game?

Round 1 - Game 2 : Jets @ Anaheim

I don't think it's the concept grasping that is the problem. We all get that the rules are looked upon as being different in the playoffs. It's when a non-call directly leads to a situation that creates a game-winning goal that people will get upset with, especially in the zone where possession creates an unfair advantage, under a minute left in the game, where the offending team benefits by an unacceptable margin. -
Round 1 - Game 2 : Jets @ Anaheim

This game, no matter the lack of scoring on the Jets part (I believe the Ducks didn't score either) was determined by something other than what the Jets were responsible for. That's the major complaint as I see it. OT or power play should have happened, but a player got away with a cheat...simple as that. -

Round 1 - Game 1 : Jets @ Anaheim

I think the Jets handled this game better than the fans did. Expectations are high but it can't be forgotten that this was the Ducks' first home playoff game. They had to turn it on...and they did. What bodes well for us is the very fact that some of our better players didn't have great games. When the team plays like they did yesterday and just lose, I think we can step it up, shut down that top line, and start to push back. It was only game one. -
That was no accidental slash. It was deliberate. And to say that Stone embellished it? No way. An unexpected two-handed slash to the bone and nerves on the wrist hurts like hell. Enough of a slash for a fracture.
-
This would be a nice, unexpected thievery, by the Bombers on the Riders. ✔️Like

The slash by Subban was definitely intentional. He changed the positioning of his hands on the stick to give him more leverage. Stone wasn't even involved in the action. The 5 min. was warranted, as was the game misconduct. To me, Subban should be out for as long as Stone is..in that series. No Stone - no Subban. There was no respect there for his 'fellow' hockey player, but I fear the NHL will not step in and do the right thing. He will get nothing.

The Jets will down those Ducks.

You weren't even trying, were you.Lord love a duck. How could you say such a thing? It was too subtle. Subtlety slides off my tongue and oozes from my fingers like water off a duck's back. -

It's been said that if our goaltending is steady, if our discipline is maintained, and the Jets can attack with the same ferocity as they've been doing - in other words - if they have all their ducks in a row, then victory should be attained, maybe even, in six games. -
I'm going to miss dear old Romby - not as much as our QB crew missed him on his routes, but I'll miss him.

TSN reports that Open season on Ducks starts Thursday 10:30 ET -
It's been pointed out that the roster of the Kings includes a lot of players that competed for their countries in the Olympics, besides competing deep into the Stanley Cup playoffs twice in the last 3 years. So much so, that if you added all the games they have played in the last 3-4 years, it would add up to 66 more games than, say, the Flames. That's almost a whole season. Can you say exhausted?
-
I agree 100%. I hope we find a way to keep him. He still has value. Wait a minute. Did you just admit to liking a player, playing out of position?
-
Yep if it's an uncontested offensive game it's not exciting. One of the things that makes football great is one side winning those individual physical battles. A receiver making a great catch with e DB all over his back. Now we'll see some minor contact drawing a flag and teams will move 20 yards up field for doing nothing. It's a tough physical game, why are we pussifying it like this? This is the rule: It will allow a defensive player to contact a receiver that is in front of him within five yards of the line of scrimmage, but it will not allow either player to create or initiate contact that impedes or redirects an opponent beyond five yards. There is nothing there that will prevent D players from making plays on the ball or getting position on O players. Not all plays in the past have had D players restricting the movements of O players. That was still illegal contact. Battles for the ball will still be viewed as who has a chance to get the ball. It does not automatically mean interference calls on either side. Let's slow down a bit before the panic sets in. It will not be the flag fest nor the offensive wild spree that is being portrayed. The players know how to play football…they will adapt.
