  1. Lawless might have to change his ways if they do sign...the Deputy Sheriff.
  2. S'later would be a sufficient way of saying that.
  3. Isn't it too hot in the summer? Average of plus 32 in June, July and August doesn't sound ideal. Think of hot July days in Manitoba...without the humidity...or the wind...or the mosquitos. It's really quite ideal.
  4. Actually, this is the exactly the time of year for the back and forth between the two sides. I don't think anybody is going to be foolish in their demands and I expect a deal to be done before TC.
  5. Exactly. Can't say that's a game we should have. I will not make excuses for the Jets, because they don't need any. Suffice to say that when Lack needed to make a save - he did, and what can you say about the game Vrbata had, he made the plays when they needed them, and that was just enough to win 3-2. Empty net goals don't mean a thing. It's those friggin Kings that have me upset. They keep winning.
  6. Do you want to know what's really affecting the Jets tonight? Radim Vrbata.
  7. And besides that, he may have had the open ice hit of the year, one on one, with a forward last night against the Oilers.Real old time hockey hit right there. Better then Buff or Scheif's hit? Man, when we can talk about hits like those being mentioned here, it's all good. I loved both Schef's hit and Byfuglien's body tossing, but, still, when I see a defenceman taking the body and make the play, I'm reminded that it used to be - play the man, not the puck, and it's one of the hardest thing to do when a player is moving fast.

  9. This story has the potential to be another good news story of the year. Hard work ahead for the young man, but athleticism is athleticism, and he can do it. Can you imagine having a Deputy Reaves on the roster?
  10. Pavelec just named one of three stars for the week....and deservedly so.
  11. Not saying you are wrong, but this is the first time I've heard this. Where are you getting this info from? D'uh his name is tracker.
  12. It's a contidiction in, and of itself, to re-up Buff, because wanting him and rebuffing him just doesn't work.
  13. I'm fine with 3-5, 20+ goal scorers.
  14. Now that you made me hate Byfuglien because he is not elite...only e-lite, I'll shift my attention to Stu-art, who had a really strong game the other day.
  15. Great point. Terrible ooint. Hey Buff do you want a 7 year deal for $56 million or a three year deal for $18? If you don't take the lesser deal it's because you hate winnipeg. There's something to be said for being close to home and liking where you are but this is his last chance to cash in and make generational money. He might put a value on liking where he plays bits flat out stupid if that value is more than a few bucks. Whoops...you're not using the same money offers. In your example, the offer for 3 years would have to be the same as the 7 years. In other words, 8 million per. How about 5 years @ 6-7 million or the appropriate money available to fit what the team needs. That's where the player has to have that "mutual feeling".
  16. Buff is one piece of this team's plans. Pay the man...for a short term. Winnipeg loves the guy. Let's see if the meeling is futual.
  17. Nope..Extra strong Tylernol would solve any pain relief issues.
  18. …...Did somebody say Picnic?
  19. Well, you had a good run for Maher while it lasted.
  20. Truly a great playoff/non-playoff game. Pavelec was truly the number one star…again. Are we sure Postma is injured? I heard reference to the post so many times tonight, I thought he was playing. It would be a shame if this hockey team misses the playoffs. They are working their butts off. And yes, Stafford is a keeper. And that Myers fellow…sure seems to have re-found his groove in Winnipeg. Scheifele and Wheeler, with Stafford is a nice top line. Good, solid effort.
  21. Wheeler and Pavs had great games. Scheifele, Trouba, Enstrom, Ladd, Stafford, Myers all contributed nicely. Very strong energy and push back when threatened. And the kind of goaltending you need to even reach the playoffs.
  22. or at least, if you're posting some kind of nasty rumour, get rid of the moniker and use your real name. Let's see somebody post one of these rumours using his or her real name. Agree wholeheartedly with both these points, because if you cannot substantiate that Zach Bogosian is addicted to Buffalo Wings, and the reason he was shuffled off, then don't even put it out there.
  23. No, if you think it was always a condo bldg, then it must be so. I was just thinking that, at one point, condo bldgs, were not popular for the Winnipeg market and I thought the condo building boom came later.
  24. Your condo fees seem to be in line with what you would expect to pay in Winnipeg for a similar sized unit. As I understand it, most condos fees do not include phone and the inclusive cable must be part of the building security system arrangement. The gym is an extra, but is much cheaper than if you had a pool. Those, with pools, are very expensive, and personally, I wouldn't go to a condo with a pool. Too costly, especially in Winnipeg's climate. Condo living is not for everyone, but neither is owning a house. There's a huge trade off, with the ease of condo living as opposed to the maintenance of a house and yard etc. My building also has an indoor pool and hot tub. Indoor pools are less costly. I was referring to outdoor pools. Sounds like your condo is a conversion from a rental building.
  25. Much too easy to just blame the unions for the problems regarding Health Care…or the Nurses, or the Doctors, or the Liberals, etc. etc. Every political party has had their chance at handling budgets and handling Health Care under those budgets. And every party has failed. The Federal Gov. sit in the big chair and those in power dole out the cash as they see fit, whether it makes sense or not. It's the system that is flawed, combined with the logistics of living in such a huge country. There is no easy answer, and the will to adopt other countries' policies for a try, just isn't there. And it's a shame, because somewhere out there, is a better system for us, but we don't have the leaders to find it.
