Well, if he has to offer that, I can't wait to see what this site will offer to counter that.

Despite what some are saying..this is good news and settles the QB situation for now. *Booha…Brohm signs - that fits the point matching the letter criteria recently questioned. Walters - “Continuity, rhythm and familiarity are all very important at the quarterback position,” said Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters. “Brian continues to grow as a quarterback in our league, he is very well respected in our locker room, and most importantly, he’s trusted to go in and succeed when called upon. We are very pleased to have him remain with our organization.”

I - Myers is not lazy, the guy is 6'8"…you try being smooth C - Peluso started Gazdic's night, and Byfuglien rag-dolled him with a clean, powerful hit and ended his night. E - a good effort , again, by the Jets C - 41 shots at Fasth H - Hutch came through when it counted. I - injuries again, as Perrault and Stafford leave the game P - for penalties, the Refs figured in keeping the Jets the most penalized team in the league S - Shootout - Wheeler ended Fasth's night with his overtime move and goal

There is no doubt Willy has to get rid of the ball faster. That will have to be the biggest area of improvement in his game. As to Marve - great, hope he can do it many times over. Well, that's an assumption on your part and it may have a degree of accuracy, but on the other hand, it may be just because Brohm had a better grasp of all aspects of the offence, and it showed when he had his playing time.

Good point. It's certainly a good idea to have some insurance at the backup position, but I just hope that Brohm is not being anointed the #2 QB by default like last year. Brohm wasn't just handed the the #2 spot..he obviously showed enough to earn it. Like i said before, Marve was an exciting alternative but until he gets more reps, he will remain just that, an alternative. It will be a lot harder for him when teams are better prepared for his style of play, just like Jpan has mentioned. But it really doesn't matter because if we are arguing for more than one guy as our backup QB…that's a good sign, and if Marve can beat out Brohm in TC, then all is good.
-
Marve is the exciting QB. He made plays using his feet. He is a totally different QB than what we're used to seeing. That doesn't make him a better QB than Brohm. Doublezero is correct in his assessment of Brohm's quick reads and accurate throws. He seems the more accomplished QB. Personally, I feel better having him backing up Willy more so than Marve…at least for now. I hope he signs soon.

Here's hoping Walters is up to date with Curran affairs.

It was a shrewd maneuver by GM Desjardins. The guy he really wanted was Price. All he had to do was get a better receiver, cut him, allow him to to go to Calgary, prove himself better than Price, then, and this is the good part, trade a good defensive player in order to get him. I mean, who else could have thought of such strategy?

The mere fact that we're not wasting our time waiting for those young guys (Kowalczuk, Pencer, Swiston, etc.) to develop into stater material, and have moved forward with an aggressive pursuit of for real O-Lineman is enough to give me calculated hope for a better running attack and therefore better pass protection. It's about bloody time.

Neufeld is this great OL. There…I've said it now too. Everybody, plus one.

Before we make any moves, can't we at least name a D-Line Coach? I'm sure we don't have to do the roster planning for them in the meantime. Players will get what they deserve…one way or another.
-
I see the transformation of our O-Line as a smart one being kick-started by the availability of Picard. Walters picked it up from there and scored a major hit with Bryant, and who really expected that? I believe they believe they have something in Jace Daniels and the acquisition of Dile is a smart gamble. We now, have, possibly, an O-Line that Wylie can transform into a very good unit, an O-Line that will be a positive for the team instead of a distraction. Too early to get too excited? Yes and no, but I wouldn't want it any other way.
-
Apparently, they were right, because Rider fans have not learned anything.

Geez, I'm good….1 out of 2 already.

He'll retire and they'll name a street after him.

Kirk Penton @PentonKirk · 3h3 hours ago I'm told the #Bombers, by their choice, are only on periphery of Glenn talks. #Alouettes and #Riders appear to be the contenders. #CFL Kirk Penton @PentonKirk · 3h3 hours ago I don't know why more teams aren't be going hard after Glenn, who wouldn't command a huge salary. #CFL #Bombers Kirk Penton @PentonKirk · 3h3 hours ago I realize Glenn is in the twilight of his career, but is your team's backup better than him? For most teams, that's a no. #CFL #Bombers Exactly…Kevin Glenn would only be insurance, in case the next backup - Portis, falters.
-
I was hoping to get Brohm back in the on deck circle, as it is still too early for Marve, and I'm not sure at all about Portis. If we don't get Brohm, I wouldn't object to an experienced QB…except for Joseph. I think the Bomber staff know this, and are checking out their options. If we remember last year, teams in the league were severely affected by not having a viable backup. Do we really want to take that chance?
-
There is also the aspect that Frolik himself, might have something to say in the matter. How much does he like this team? And his role in it? And how he views their future? Maybe, just maybe, he likes t(his) home team.

Bombers sign LB Hurl, WR Adams, OL Bryant & Dile, DL Brown
Mr Dee replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There is something there in Hurl. We have to find the way to bring that out consistently. It is all about dropping the lower end NI players and upgrading. I believe we have done this with Hurl. Salary? That is not up to me work out. We have to trust mgmt. in the salary cap aspect, and who's to say they're off the path in their allotments so far? -
OMG! Just say no to KG. I hate him almost as much as Westwood No problem, Westy-Glenny sucks...

Hey, here's something fun for you to try. Print out a picture of the Bombers helmet and ask 100 Winnipeggers which team's helmet is in the picture. Then, if you have a bit more free time, try doing that at various points elsewhere in Canada. See how many say U of Washington. Get back to us on the results, would you? Personally, I've had no problem with mis-identification of the W whenever I've worn my hat or various T-shirt/jersey paraphernalia. At football, at curling and on the golf courses etc. And this is here in Kelowna. The only time there may have been a question was in Las Vegas, but what was said there…has to stay there.

Thanks shanks! Glad we can have open discussions as long as they follow the opinions of the mods on here! I wasn't aware that we can rip on Kane , the Riders, Joe Mack or anyone not on the blue or Jets but if we bring up topics that do have a hint of truth about our guys we have to put our heads in the sand. Or we can have mods who mock or rip on fellow posters because they disagree with none of those posts or threads deleted. This feels like ob.com 2.0 at times. I like the site but remember the downfall of ob was partially because of mods trying to shape all discussions to whatever they want to hear. I don't see the parallel at all to OB. There is far more leniency on here compared to several sites, but you have to remember, everybody has their edges when it comes to defining what goes and what stays. I happen to agree with their edges…you apparently don't. As far as shaping discussions to whatever the mods want to hear…I call BS to that.

A stunningly good trade for the Jets. Yesterday, I gave kudos to Walters for hitting a home run "out of the park" for the day he had as GM. Today, kudos to Cheveldayoff for hitting one out of the park…and it was a Grand Slam! 1 - moving Kane 2 - getting value now 3 - getting value for the future 4 - ending the endless proposed trade rumours involving Kane.
-
Perhaps Evander Kane had visions of receiving Manitoba's Order of the Buffalo…...and this is the closest they could come, to accommodating him.

A clear WIN day for both Winnipeg teams! Feels good.
