  1. Why anybody bothers to qualify what accomplishments and numbers that players put up is beyond me. If the guy had a good game…the guy had a good game. It was no fluke.
  2. How about misrepresented? Chipman also said a copy of the option agreement for the project was sent to City Hall and that Bowman and other city councillors had access to it, despite claims made by Bowman the information contained in the agreement hasn’t been handed over. “It was delivered to the city solicitor on December first under conditions that clearly allow it to be used by the city, its administration and the mayor himself for the collective assessment and due diligence on our project.” Chipman's overreaction? Interesting that you should choose to present Chipman in that light. He states that he wanted to present the facts and because of how things were handled..at City Hall, they want to reevaluate what they do going forward. That seems pretty clear and pretty fair. It is in no way Chipman's fault how the matter was handled by CentreVenture, nor should the spotlight be shone on True North when they have presented a viable alternative. Bowman could have easily handled this whole affair in a much better fashion, but rushed into statements that don't present the entire story. His bad. Chipman has a proven record in Winnipeg and his objection to the characterization of True North and this proposed deal is understandable. Bowman doesn't have to rubber stamp anything…but he certainly shouldn't have called True North's intentions into question. Here's Chipman's media address and it is powerful and interesting: https://soundcloud.com/680cjob/mark-chipman-full The confidentiality agreement in the deal signed by Centreventure and True North kind of prevents anyone else from presenting the entire story. Would be nice if Chipman would give us that story instead of getting his back up when the city asks questions about where it's money is going. The only objection by Bowman, and he's quite right to object, is that an arms length corporation went around what the actual elected representatives approved when they panicked. There's some weird stuff there since Chipman was on the board and fully aware of everything going on. Some have suggested that other True North developments and interests scuttled any chance SOD had to find a different partner to run the proposed hotel, but I'm choosing to believe Chipman's version of events on that side of things until the facts prove I shouldn't. Chipman addresses concerns in the media release. The city's administration had the facts necessary to follow the trail, but the Mayor chose to spout the words without paying attention to what had already been delivered to the city. Chipman fully explained his relationship with CentreVenture, and he has the facts and dates to back what he says. Bowman has nothing to fall back on because he misspoke. If he had done the same due diligence as the parties involved, he wouldn't have put himself, True North and CentreVenture in this situation. Now, if the Chipman group pull out they, (the city), will be further back than square one.

  4. A thoughtful gift……………………....…………for Evander.
  5. Does this mean that the Bowman-Chipman "connection" is a thing of the past? And did I hear Chipman expressly address gbill2004 with this statement? This is no time for Bowman to be doing any posturing for the sake of politics. Isn't there anybody around this situation with any common sense?
  6. Violation ... …for mis-identifying Glen Johnson, intentional or not.
  7. That is quite the unexpected development, to have a high profile player like Kane sit out a home town game. Yes, indeed quite the slap in the face..to himself. I totally trust Paul Maurice in this matter, even without knowing all the information. and will look forward to seeing Kane move on. Forget all the other trade scenarios, Kane himself, has just put himself forward as the next player to be moved from this team. He has become a giant Kane in the asp. Twitter me this Mr. Kane, twitter me this.
  8. That's interesting. Chad Owens must be confused. I know he is Hawaiian, so he must be have ukulele and Kuale held in the same esteem. Both are smaller instruments of sorts, that aspire to be more than what they are. While they both can make noise, it's debatable whether they can be seen as useful…or just noise-makers.
  9. Not fired…just, um...lynched.
  10. That has to be a cause for concern. Finding one or two good LB's is tough, four is an immense task. Won't be surprised if Sherman ends up full time in default and pretty sure they can resign Dunn before F.A. if they want to. Unumba #1 New numba 1
  11. ………33 tackles! 1 interception! Kuale - EJected... The rightful respect can now be given to the number 1
  12. http://www.rodpedersen.com/ What an odd comment. I hope that's taken out of context... That statement is now in the past…just as the comment will be.
  13. You just played right into TB's hand with that remark...
  14. No need for a mis-step at this point, as in foolish trade. The Jets are getting there, but they're not close enough..yet. Just keep on keeping on.
  15. Tons of posters myself included have been advocating trading Watson for a return EXACTLY like the one we got for quite some time now. Even the Rider fans know this trade was a big win for the Bombers. I do remember reading different posters posing the unanswerable question on whether we could make a trade with Cory Watson. There was a definite back and forth discussion on whether it was even possible. With whom? For whom? How could we make the best use of Cory Watson? I think we just did.
  16. He used our 4 draft picks to take Mike Morris, Adam Bestard, Peter Quinney, and Thaine Carter. If those names aren't familiar, there's a pretty good reason. They were terrible picks. Some of that is shared with Taman, as he traded some of those 2009 picks. Kelly let Gauthier, Koch, Picard and Goodspeed walk in free agency. I know Goodspeed isn't a NI, but if I don't mention him, Kelly's "I think we can re-sign all four!" doesn't quite make sense. Some of that is shared with Taman, as he could have extended these guys earlier. Kelly claimed he was going to do a better job of hanging on to our draft picks than Taman ever did. As I recall, we were still missing a pick in the 2013 draft from one of Kelly's many traded picks. None of that is shared with Taman. You'd have to do a pretty comprehensive essay to convince me Kelly added anything to this team other than bloated bombast, including the area of NI talent. I feel like when he said "Mike Kelly added to it", he means he added to the problem, not to our NI depth. But I could be wrong. Yes, thank you. The force is strong with this one...I'll be more careful next time to make sure even the obvious is spelled out for others. And can you make it available with a mobile App.?
  17. Plus he had the best tan I've ever seen on a commissioner. Must be a glandular thing.
  18. Chris Williams spent the past season with the Bears. He was cut in early December. Yes. But I believe Hamilton still hold his rights for a year and that will expire at Feb, correct? Chris Williams. Free agent. February. My nipples are hard. Listen Rod, this is probably not the time to reveal your secret identity.
  19. It's not the quote so much as it is the rationale behind the quote. Reading how Walters has immersed himself into the Canadian aspect from his early days in his career and the the assembled knowledge of the Canadian staff this team has put together, leads me to believe they have a very good grasp on who Bastien is, and perhaps they very much wanted him before this. Walters and whomever have brought in players such as Kohlert and Gudino. They had a grasp of their abilities. This move resembles the thinking behind those acquisitions, and that's what I was leading up to. The quote is for the press release, the rationale is from the previous scouting.
  20. As I read more and more about this trade, I'm liking it more and more. As a straight up trade, this is good news for both teams…Watson for them and a salary displacement, move up the draft in a good draft year and the acquisition of a promising receiver for the Bombers. I take that back. This could very well be a great trade for the Bombers, regardless of how Watson does. That salary dump alone could help us a decent receiver in FA or go towards another FA. Moving up the draft is a very good move and exciting for us. And , obviously, Walters and staff have a very good grasp of Bastien and what he brings in the terms of potential. “He had an outstanding evaluation camp last year. Of all the players at evaluation camp, he really caught people’s attention. He’s 6-3 and 205 lbs., so he’s got all the physical tools and he just needs to get a little experience to see if that can translate onto the football field,” said Walters. This Canadian Coaching staff, and their knowledge, is starting to look better and better.
  21. I'm sure glad I'm not seeing this from the Rider's point of view, because from there, this doesn't look like a very good trade. Who exactly, is going to be in their receiving core with hall passes being given to Cory Watson and Jamal Richardson? Reminds me of Taman and the old days…there's never a bad day to trade your picks.
  22. No Cohons, or No cajones... There is a difference.
  23. Well, the difference is Popp has been doing this for a very long time…and he seems to know what he is doing. He's put a successful product on the field and he retains his better players. He must be doing something right.
  24. This just in... #believeatyourownperil - Reports are now coming in that the rumour that Samuel Giguere is off the market is untrue, and have heavily denied any links to Rod Black being involved in any such claims.
  25. The price has already been predetermined but the cost is yet to be realized.
