Has anyone heard about Brohms thumb? OK, I get it Brohm's thumb…moving on... but I don't get that just because Portis signed first. I think there is still somewhere in the lineup for Brohm, for the time being, and maybe try to get a draft pick back for him if anybody is interested. There is a need for back ups, and Brohm could fill that void.

Believe what you want but i gotta say the way it was handled seemed complete and fair to the nth. Evaluate…talk…propose changes…make decisions. It took time. So what. C'mon, a starting non-import that played as many games as he did, competently…this is good, very good. You take your best 7 Can. starters and continually try to upgrade. If someone pushes one of our starters to the 8th position, by being better..great, we'll just get better in depth, which is what we need to do. The 8th re-signing/extension so far. Good news.

Kyle recently held three days of extensive meetings, 10-12 hours a day, with our scouting department, and our Head Coach. There, they went over everything from details of this past season to our pending free agents and all of the free agents around the league. With Kyle presiding over the meetings, the dialogue was very open. Conversations included talk about certain positions where we feel we need to upgrade, and how the scouting staff of Danny McManus, Ted Goveia, and Drew Morris would go about meeting these needs. The massive amount of knowledge these individuals have about the rosters, and individual players/positions at every school across North America, as well as NFL bubble guys, was amazing to listen to. And: The five men carried out intense conversations for hours, touching aspects even further down the line such as the CFL Draft, to be held in May. The organization and diligent preparation by these men in everything they do is very evident. Every year, we want to draft some offensive linemen, almost always one early on, and begin to develop that player within our organization. Why? Why are we trying to keep a losing team together? Why are we always so intent on keeping the guys we have when it was obvious they couldn't get the job done? I came up with a list of 12 Canadians and 13 Americans that are "must-keep", in my opinion. That leaves room for a ton of roster movement, and I think it would be justified. But what you have, especially on the Can. side, is a wish list. Get rid of 9 o10 Canadians is not possible in nowadays CFL. There are just no qualified substitutes for replacements. 50% import replacement is high also. 25-32 % would be more feasible. (5-8 guys)

Cole's note version: K. Lowe very good player - not a very good Boss in charge. MacTavish - for a guy who's been with the org. as long as he has, you would think he'd have a good handle on what's wrong with this team. - He doesn't. Dallas Eakins - Whatever you attribute his system to be…it is definitely not a fit for this club. He took a team one should be able to mold around the young stars and turned it into a team where the young stars were molded into the average of the rest of the team. Whenever I watched the Oilers pre Eakins, they were a team who could beat you with their offence alone. They weren't good defensively, but that could have been fixed. Instead they were neutered and played like it. Eakins had to go.

It's either not a very good sign for our DC position….or a brilliant move by Mike O'Shea to insert our future DC in Wally's hiring process.

I believe it was Sherman who led the team in forced fumbles with 5, followed by Washington, then Peach. Sears had 1 although he was effective at hitting players behind the line of scrimmage. His being injured and ratio issues didn't help his case. There seems to be a hidden element behind the decisions to sit Sears, but when he was tagged to go in…with Unumba, our defence was better. I certainly would want to re-sign him providing there is still a good relationship intact.
