Maybe Korey Banks asked what a Double Wing was? -

Let's take the DC out of the equation. If a veteran player is asked to play more of a "mentor-back up role" by any coach, on any team, and he feels he can still play the game, why would he not accept that role…and play his way back onto a roster? There have been many instances where a player is asked to do just that…and he does it, all for the good of the team - you know, the reason why he's still employed and given another chance. That's a leader…and I would venture to say, a reason why he was brought here in the first place. -

Not sticking up for Banks here but its a good idea to look at it from both ways.... Sure Leggett and Anderson re-upped and may have no prob with Etch. Maybe they had no questions and just followed along. But Banks as a leader and vet may have felt he had questions about things that maybe rookies might of asked him and he wanted to have answers and help. I'm under the impression Korey Banks was brought here…for that exact reason..for the experience and passing on veteran knowledge. Seems like a no-brainer. But somewhere, somehow, things went astray, and we only have KB's version of his "asked-a-question-things-went-sideways-they-don't-respect-me-things-went-to-hell" story. I'd back Banks up on his account, if I could believe his version of on-line moans and his line of credibility, but it seems it's not the first time he has "trashed" a former employer. He is right about one thing though…he's done with football. -
Falls under the title - Rocket Science. Now they have a Jake Morrissey (G) and a Josh Morrissey - brothers. This team is amazing and their record speaks of itself. 25-4-3 Go Rockets.

Must have been a hell of a question that Banks asked! Let's see, Maurice Leggett and Zach Anderson just re-upped with the Bombers. 2 defensive players…playing under GE. That, to me speaks way more than a disgruntled, almost-former player, that 2 teams deemed expendable. And Banks is mad at the last one who thought he wasn't good enough? I guess it's really hard to face the truth for Banks. -
Aside from tweaking what was left of his fans in Sask., it never hurts for training camp looks. And besides, and I'm not kidding, as I read this post, I was listening to Cisco Kid by War.

Another timely signing by the Big Blue. Every time one of our player is extended like this, it has a beneficial, kinda 'pay it forward' effect on our future rosters. These guys won't have to be a worry in the near future, allowing us to concentrate on a different set of players next year, and that will, again push it forward into the future. A very good way to separate sets of players for years and work on the year-to-year players. If properly managed it should keep a bulk of the guys you want under contract and not have to face a whole group of potential signees at the same time. And playing with, what probably is, this year's money. (at least I hope so) 2014 was a unique year for signings and roster planning, what with an expansion team coming in. But 2015 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year with what looks like an unprecedented number of FAs that are going to get to Free Agency in the new CBA world of CFL football. That all be the next phase of continuing to put together a roster that can win consistently. I like what I see so far.

Are you being sarcastic now?

Now that we have the Grey Cup out of the way ...
Mr Dee replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think they're just waiting for Etch to become available. (staying in theme) -
Expect Hamilton to look different also. Drew Edwards reports that: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are dealing with a major challenge when it comes to re-signing some of their key pending free agents: they are virtually out of 2014 cap room. The team also had 10 East Division and three CFL all-stars and the bonuses they earn for winning those awards also count against the cap. Like many teams in the CFL, the Ticats sometimes use the one-game injured list to keep healthy players around for development and replacement purposes. The down side is that the money paid to those players counts against the salary cap. Delvin Breaux also appears to have had a workout in Houston... So many FAs are going to be hitting the market and there will be a lot of player movement. Good time to be planning future roster moves.

Monitor? -
Yes….Washington DC

I know, I know, Richie Hall must be furiously pacing the dirt floors at Mozaic stadium, waiting for his performance review. Mike Gibson, George Cortez and Mike Benevides are sure lucky to know they've been fired.

Maurice Leggett signs contract extension

Good. Now we can read on other teams fan boards: How come we're not re-signing players like the Bombers are doing? -

If I wasn't so busy drinking my Blue Margaritas, I would have noticed that I pressed the quote button instead of the like button. But i rectified that…I switched to Blue Kool Aid. It just came to me. Sheesh. -

George Cortez won't be back with Riders in 2015
Mr Dee replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You're correct. It was his wife. Marcus Brady was his fill-in. Jim Popp was the HC Robert Edwards led the CFL with 17 TDs Montreal was the only team with 2 - 1000 yd receivers - Kerry Watkins and Ben Cahoon. -
I don't care what they do in the off season with Buff as long as they fire the assistant coaches and announce it the day after the season ends.
-
Why? He did better then MB. Kerry Joseph did better than Mike Benevides?

That's the worst rendition of hooey-toots that I've ever read. But at least we know now about the voices in your head.

There are some seriously good posts in here offering varying explanations on the co-ordinator positions and the shifting and waiting and shuffling of candidates and teams. And you know what, they make sense. I don't know whether some just aren't reading them or just have it in their minds what should be done, and that's the end of it. Never mind, I think I know the answer to that.
