Besides, it can all be learned on the go. We never used to have a throwing-a-player-under-the-bus coach, but that was done exceptionally well last year.

If you are looking for an example of the kind of player or coach that the Bombers want to employ in their organization, look no further than this guy, Buck pierce. It's no coincidence that we're hearing from different guys, that this is the place they want to be. It's no longer just verbal word play, but a more genuine feeling being cultivated here. Part of that culture is being exemplified by Buck. Good on him, and good on the Bombers.

Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
Mr Dee replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Nowhere does it say that the struggle is to fire Etcheverry Maybe the struggle involves Etch wanting control of the offence also. That way he could make all kinds of formation/personnel changes to confuse the defence. The interesting part would be seeing practices involving both these factions. -
That's pretty good. Good on that salesman when he says "want to do it again"?

Which Player To Get Stitched On New Bombers Jersey
Mr Dee replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Heck, if you really wanted to, you could get all the suggestions from here stitched on that jersey, in a smaller stich form, kind of like a "signature" uni or a smorgasbord of talented teammates, all in good taste of course. It might prove to be a bit heavy, but strong are the shoulders that bear the weight of responsibility. (or some hokum like that) -
………..Zach Anderson - A very impressive player who's absence was noticeable. **Sure is wonderful having a running supply of signings instead of the drippings of signings we used to get.

…………Stoudermire ………….Cotton It's a start.

Virden's best - Avro Lancaster

Wouldn't that be line scheifling?
-
I don't know about that, because I'm pretty sure that with Chris Jones' accent, when he said Matt, get out there at QB, Mike ran out there. Why else would they risk more injury to Reilly's foot? A prime example of the risk of hoof and mouth disease in the CFL.

Advantage of what exactly? They don't give away the ball, but who goes back on the field when the O and STs coughs up the ball? -
Congrats on a great season Saskatchewan ...

This loss makes the RR fans only a little less insufferable. Who am i kidding? No, it doesn't. Ignorant putzs who have stretched the boundary of good taste and sportsmanship and lowered it into their luxury two-hole sometimes mobile, storage containers. Welcome back to the real world. Prepare for a long stay. -

None of those stats have anything to do with giving the ball away or lack of offensive production or having the defense on the field for 1:35 more than Calgary. They have to do with the other teams running the ball down our throats and our defense having no way to stop them. We were 2nd best against the pass partly because other teams didn't have to pass to beat us. No one's suggesting that there was only one factor that caused our losses. I'm just saying that the defense's play is part of the reason we lost and lost and lost.... There, you just admitted that's stats are baseless. And that's what I was pointing out. You can hang onto the ball longer by running, but you also can win the game quicker by passing. Stats are like laces that you can loop around and tie your shoes, but they're not necessary with loafers, where at least you can get some pennies. (huh) Stats only tell part of the story. That doesn't mean they are baseless. If you can beat a team by running, then that's what you do and that's what lots of teams did to us. Folks want it to be about fixing 1 thing and the other things don't really matter, but that's not the way football works. Stopping the run matters as does stopping the pass and stopping the big returns and being able to run and being able to pass and keeping your QB healthy and kicking FG's and everything else that goes into a football game. I'm referring to facts are baseless, (bolded) when one only uses them to tell a part of the story…like you did. You only quoted facts on the run..not on anything else. Now you are admitting that they are only part of the story. Then you go on to list everything else that is part of winning and losing football games, just like we've been pointing out, all along.(bolded) -

So, we can quote you on that?

Yeah, the field in Edmonton was frozen and like an ice field. Edmonton just happened to have better footwear (with screws?) and could cut on a dime, where we were slipping and sliding all over the field.

Nice stats there TB. It's lucky that none of those stats were caused by, oh let's say, giving the ball back to the opposing team, or anything like that, through turnovers or lack of offensive production. But let's not mention that the Bombers were 2nd best in pass yards allowed or pass yards per game allowed or 100 receiving yards per game because they wouldn't back your argument. Many, many factors resulted in our losses…not just because the rushing yards against the defence were high. -
1st and foremost, if it can be determined that our 1st pick can start, then that's who we should grab. Offence, defence, doesn't matter. We need to be netting more NIs who can play, right from starters to quality backups. Keep our picks and make them count.

Gameday: BC in Montreal - The early game. Usually not a good sign for a Western team, but BC has been practising @ 10am to approximate the eastern time zone. No Courtney Taylor, but Bassie and Bighill are back in the lineup. "Keeping tackle Khalif Mitchell on the roster and in the defensive mix, rotating him with Eric Taylor and Jabar Westerman, represents the best way to cause problems for Als quarterback Jonathan Crompton, maintained Benevides" Ernest Jackson is entering the playoffs as the most productive CFL receiver. No John Beck, so Travis Lulay is the BU, followed by Travis Partridge. If Glenn gets hurt..bye bye BC BC is 3rd in total defence Montreal is 4th in total defence. Montreal - lowest scoring team in the playoffs / only ran the ball 5 times vs the Ti-Cats / Tisdale is back in the lineup/ the 1970's porn star look-a-like is ready behind the centre and I'm still not sure that's a good thing. / If Duron Carter is on his game, it may not matter./ No Sutton today. BC wins if Glenn and his receivers are connected and Logan gives them an option. Montreal wins if they can run the ball…a lot, and can hotly defend against Glenn. Hamilton stunned this team last week. Have they recovered? I like BC with Kevin Glenn Sask. in Edmonton: Think running game. Allen vs White I'm not thrilled at all with the BU QBs in this game, But it's Kerry Joseph and Anthony Allen and their rec vs Matt Nichols and John white and their receivers Both QBs will be rushed by the opposing Ds and KJ should handle it better than MN but it won't be enough Wild card - Cortez, anything up his sleeve weather will be a factor cccold In the CFL this season the team with more rushing yards was 68-13 overall. I like Edmonton with J White.

This is the best I can do: The University of Manitoba Bisons took advantage of 10 turnovers and an impressive defensive performance to deny the University of Calgary Dinos a seventh consecutive Hardy Cup title Saturday, winning the Canada West championship 27-15 at McMahon Stadium….. 1st Quarter CGY – Mercer Timmis 81-yard TD run (Johnny Mark convert), 0:35, 7-0 CGY MAN – Jonathan Jones 22-yard interception return TD (Ryan Jones convert), 4:28, 7-7 CGY – Kienan LaFrance 40-yard TD run (Ryan Jones convert), 7:13, 14-7 MAN 2nd Quarter CGY – Rashaun Simonise 42-yard TD pass from Andrew Buckley (Johnny Mark convert), 5:58, 14-14 MAN – Ryan Jones 17-yard FG, 9:22, 17-14 MAN MAN – Zach Regert 7-yard TD pass from Jordan Yantz (Ryan Jones convert), 13:47, 24-14 MAN 3rd Quarter CGY – Johnny Mark 78-yard kickoff single, 0:00, 24-15 MAN MAN – Ryan Jones 30-yard FG, 4:08, 27-15 MAN 4th Quarter No scoring. …….The University of Manitoba Bisons took advantage of 10 turnovers and an impressive defensive performance to deny the University of Calgary Dinos a seventh consecutive Hardy Cup title Saturday, winning the Canada West championship 27-15 at McMahon Stadium. http://www.canadawest.org/sports/fball/2014-15/contrib/20141115CgyMan Game stats: http://english.cis-sic.ca/championships/fball/2014/postseason-boxscores/20141115_jdh7.xml Yahoo! Hardy har har..take that you damm Dinos. From the opening score by Calgary all the way to the turnovers, both forced and unforced, the Bisons persisted…. all year, and took this game. Big time big plays. All kinds. Calgary just could not get any momentum mounted, and when they did, they gave up the ball. Or the Bisons took it. A lot of ripped away balls. So, two of the biggest names in CIS football, Laval or spelled backward, Laval, and Calgary are both out!! What a program those teams have. Go Bisons!

These early season stats disprove what you're saying. Team - yards rushing Toronto - 42 Ottawa - 86 Montreal - 102 Edmonton - 192 (96 Reilly) BC - 100 Hamilton - 47 Sask. - 186 Toronto - 174we had that short week, Tor had the bye Montreal 91 It wasn't real until the Sasatchewan games that teams started running on us, and, as has discussed many times, at least two of those games were winnable. Sask - 160 Sask - 196 -
Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
Mr Dee replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So, the mighty journalist/hockey/football analyst has broken down the year and came to the conclusion that a co-ordinator must be the first one to be let go. And co-ordinators are prime candidates to be shown the door. Makes sense. I do wonder why Lawless has not put both co-ordinators up for inspection, just like the Bombers are hopefully doing, and then present cases for each one. Lawless has made some pretty defining statements in his presentation: -Keeping Etcheverry on staff is the wrong move from the tactical and survival perspectives. Keeping Etcheverry will likely result in the negativity associated with the defensive coach sticking to the head coach. - And there is no negativity associated with the OC? -The entire city wants Etcheverry clipped. - There are lots of pockets out there for sure, but the entire city? He'is right about no one would really question the move. - No, O'Shea will look for every reason to keep Etcheverry. He'll want to believe Etcheverry is part of the path to success - well..yeah. What Coach doesn't? - Etcheverry's defence was terrible and was as big a reason as any for the Blue Bombers plummeting from an early 5-1 record to an unsatisfactory 7-11 finish. Likely the biggest.. They did falter over the rest of the season, but the biggest reason for the plummet? Highly debatable. That statement seems to be the basis for many to ditch Etch, that his defence is always figured out and the yards gained running will ruin even the most stable D. And people may be right, but he's picked his "delete" co-ordinator for the year and has make a big production of it. And whether Etch goes, or not, I won't be run down, either way. But….is it the right co-ordinator? Where's the hullabaloo for the other side of the line?
