  1. So you're saying time is running out for Etch, and MB has to start devising a strategy for moving forward? Interesting.
  2. Many happy returns!
  3. Which came first? The egg-laying defence who couldn't stop the amount of eggs laid, or the chicken-offence who couldn't gain yards to cross the road? One would assume that if there was no production on O, that the numbers against the D would go up. Or if more turnovers were given by our own team than the defence could procure, again the yardage thing. I'll be glad, next year, when we're talking about our impending game instead of this farm stuff.
  4. Well, there is a correlation between teams figuring out how to attack Etch's schemes and our defensive line being felled by injuries and the continued, mysterious use of an almost useless MLB, not playing Johnny Sears, Unumba, etc. etc. Hello.
  5. Du-rant Du-rant Du-rant, Du-rant, Du-rant He'll be fine Du-rant, Du-rant, Du-rant He'll play on time. Du-rant, Du-rant, Du-rant He'll be the envy of all the league Du-rant, Du-rant, Du-rant All he has to do is try. With apologies to the Chiffons...
  6. Saskatchewan at Winnipeg, Week 11, 4th quarter, 2:24 left, 3 straight running plays and the defence holds. 1:34 remaining, Bombers ball on the Rider 45. Next play Willy throws an int at the 5 yd line. Grossly under thrown. With penalties the Riders get the ball at the 43 yd line. 1:26 left in the game. 2 runs, stopped, have to punt. Bombers ball at their 34, :49 seconds left. and the offence fails. 1st game Week 7 Bomber defence responsible for 8 points. Bomber offence with 2:10 left in the game, ball on the Rider 51 yd line. Willy throws a pick at the Rider 10 to the Bombers 51…in Willy's defence, there was no protection. 1:52 left. Bomber did stop the Riders for a single, but too late. Bombers ball at the 35, :30 seconds left. That turnover, along with 5 others was the reason for this loss, don't you think? Turnovers and putrid offensive play and protection were more the reason for these two losses.
  7. We win 2 of 3 vs the Riders with another competent DC. A few other games that I can't remember now where we couldn't close the win because we couldn't stop the run. No, that's not right. We could not turn off the turnover machine in one game, and the offence, when given the chance in another game, twice, could not get it done. The defence was not the problem in that series.
  8. I wouldn't object to them going back to the "old ways" of 60 minutes of hockey and that's it. Ties are ties. Shootouts, to me, are not a measure of a team win or loss.
  9. ………..Here's your new icon…..seeing as you seem to be talking in riddles.
  10. The Eskimo fan board has just inherited the Road Grill guy, and all his love...
  11. I want to win Noeller. We won't ever with him as DC. I think that's more important than keeping him around for anyone's amusement. But that's the very point. Everybody is running around (notice how liberal I am with the word - run) declaring this and that and who should be where, who should get fired, get a haircut, get a screen test etc., that we've lost sight of what went wrong. Is Etch any more responsible than MB? Than (****) Tracey? Than the players he had? All's I know is that we want a good defence...one that will define us and help us win games. I don't care who's running (heh) it, as long as it friggin works.
  12. K - Paul McCalum (BC) over K Lirim Hajrullahu? I disagree with this. It's very close…stats wise, but PM kicking indoors, for half the games, tilts it to LH in my books. And if I'm an Easter team's RB and a RB comes over from the West, for a game or two, and gets the all-star nod, then I'm all-star mad about that. An EASTERN Division player that should have been named. I don't care one way or the other about Grigsby, but that's a sham.
  13. I don't see it that way. I think Reilly adds that extra ingredient that sometimes is the difference between - coming close, and eking out a win. That extra scramble that nets extra yards or allows a completion, the ability to take a hit, his sheer desire to make a play. He's a difference maker, and his team knows it. Those are all factors that take a rather easy win against Saskatchewan and now, turn it into a game because he's out. It would have to be some kind of injury to keep him out though, so we shall see.
  14. I'd still be surprised if Reilly was not named as the stater. The rumour, last week, was a debate of whether his injury was an ankle or maybe something wrong in his foot, such as a broken bone. This injury was a direct result of a play that Reilly was trying to extend (surprise, surprise), along the sidelines. Now, of course, injuries can happen at any time, but we're talking Reilly here, and despite the fact Reilly didn't even have to be in there, he was.. and as has been said many times, sooner or later...
  15. "Lulay, who came off the six-game injured list Saturday, is expected to take snaps Tuesday, when the Lions get back on the practice field to begin preparations for the Montreal game. If Lulay is able to take the workload, Benevides’ plan is to ease him in, slowly, in a backup role, as the No. 2 or No. 3 quarterback, depending on the condition of John Beck, who got dinged in last Friday’s 33-16 defeat to the Calgary Stampeders." http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Lions+could+look+Travis+Lulay/10367273/story.html#ixzz3ImvD00Jw No word on whether Beck will practice, but I'd guess he would. One thing we do know is that Travis will be at least the 2nd or 3rd string QB on Saturday…for sure. Now whether it's Travis Lulay or Travis Partridge..is another matter. And what could go wrong with a Partridge playing against an Alouette? Well, Alouettes are birds of prey and partridges are game.
  16. BC would be far better off preparing for that very tough Montreal defence than trying smoke and mirrors. Lulay, the very last time that he played, did not look like a QB who would provide a team with the necessary wherewithal to actually win a game, never mind a playoff game. I understand the desperation, but a determined game plan will go much farther than an ill-healed QB who hasn't played in a while.
  17. Blah, blah, blah said one political party. Not true says the opposing party. It is more like blah, blah blah. If we were in Ireland, that would be known as blah-rny. Never mind….it still is. We suffer under the indulgences of whichever political party is in charge. And yes and no, the opposition is always/never better. But thank goodness, we can even say that.
  18. Having helped solve all the issues facing the Blue Bombers, I see this board is now moving onto helping the Chicago Bears. We're good.
  19. Well, if you want to blame Willy for getting absolutely crunched on that fumble for a touchdown, then I see your point. Or if you can absolutely blame Willy for the tipped ball that led to the 28 yrd int. for a TD, then again I would say he's a goat. Or two more fumbles, of which he had no part, but still only lost by 6 points, then goat to it. But i won't.
  20. I relish the aspect where Kharma steps in, when all seems lost, and then, when least expected, proceeds to "adjust" the situation. Sweet.
  21. Geez, you and your brother KK have to get over it. The season is OVER. Willy had a bad game. Move on.
  22. Next season the Bombers win those games. I'm confident Bombers win at least 9-10 games next season. Could've won them this year too. We were outplayed at the QB position - rest of the team played well enough to win those games. Durant in 3 games vs WPG 13 for 21 for 115 yards 14 for 26 for204 yards 8 for 9 77 yards Hardly sounds like stats from somebody that outplayed anybody Yeah, but you're missing the point, Marve could have won all 3 of those games…he just needed the opportunity.
  23. We're talking about Crompton here. Looks like someone is just out for a Saturday night troll.
  24. It's a playoff, playoff game. It's pretty huge. Montreal wants to win - 1st place is their reward. It's right there, they can taste it. Hamilton has to win - they are motivated. The weather will be huge factor - lots of wind, possible rain. Medlock has the better leg for this. advantage, Hamilton. Sutton is the far better runner, advantage, Montreal. Coin toss is now a bigger factor. Montreal wins by running the ball and limiting turnovers. Hamilton wins by Collaros's scrambling and ability to make plays. Collaros will be the better passer under these weather conditions, advantage, Hamilton. LOL at the thought that Hamilton's pick up of Grigsby is thought to possibly pay big dividends for this game. Are they right? Can Hamilton stop the Duron Carter machine? Can Crompton even get to use the Carter machine? Whyte is a pretty reliable kicker, but Medlock has the better leg. Will Hamilton gamble to use that leg in, say a 40+ yard attempt? Zach Collaros vs Crompton? Advantage Hamilton Defences? Advantage Montreal, but not by too much as Hamilton has a good run defence. The look on Austin's face, with a Hamilton loss, would be so worth it, but….I don't think we're going to see it. Hamilton needs this game more. Hamilton will be in the playoffs, and if it's by more than 8 points, they will be in 1st place.
  25. Crazy play!! 1st, the Bisons get jobbed on that stupid phantom interference play, then that pick, and the crazy call for their best receiver to throw a winning TD to their QB. Brian Dobie just happens to be the ST Coach as well. And the Bisons win. We'll now return you to your regularly scheduled program...
