And that is absolute bullfrog. This was a colossal failure of a GM who is supposed to work hand in hand with his Head Coach. You can have your philosophy, but if it interferes too much with what your HC is trying to do, then you are restricting and tying his hands in competing in the league. I now have more information in giving LaPolice more slack in my opinion of him. Ditto a change in opinion towards Mack, he's beginning to look more and more like a giant Eeyore in my eyes.

The Bombers have just admitted they will not be bringing Swiston back next year. Injuries have always stood in the way of progression, but they wouldn't be surprised to see Swiston on another team's roster next year.

Maybe a chance he's back next season. It is peculiar timing, so, considering they stood by him all year, and it's unlikely Swiston will be picked up by another team, I'm sure they had a talk with him…about staying close. At least I would think so.

Look at it this way. Hall is out of the equation. Gone. Neufeld, an NI, is still here. Sask. has their 2nd rounder. We'll pick up our 4th rounder in 2015. If I read correctly, these players are closer in quality than you'd normally see. They have one chance to get a decent player….we have two chances, And that's all these trade transactions are….chances at acquiring good players.

What? No mention of the 4th round pick we get in 2015? a deeper draft year? And still the possibility of Neufeld playing for years? If that's the way you eat lunch, remind me not to dine out with you.

An INJURED 26 year old Neufeld. And continually injured this season. He wasn't worth losing a second pick over. One for one then sure, fine. Why would Walters give up a second round pick knowing he was losing Hall anyway considering how bad our Canadian talent was & still is? Well, for one thing, Hall wasn't Canadian when we traded him, and he still isn't. And Neufeld was/is a NI O-Lineman who is, at least a depth player and was/is still, potentially, a starter. Of course he has to be healthy, but any player traded, drafted or signed from the US has to be also. And we received a 4th round pick in 2015, arguably a better draft…so really, what's the problem?

A rental import for a NI O-Lineman straight up? Who would make that trade? A 2014 eleventh pick (as it turns out) for a 4th rounder in 2015 (TBD) and a 26 year old O_line guy? That's still tilted in the Bombers favour.

Hall had no more value to us, that's the important thing here. Don't care what he did with Saskatchewan, although it wasn't much. The swap of draft picks can be debated but also has to include the red-shirting in '14. Our pick is in 2015. If Neufeld shows anything in the future, how can that not be a clear asset gain for us?

No, it's not as if we're in desperate need of NI O-Linemen or anything like that. I'm not ticking off the bad trade box on this one for a switch of draft picks and a player who was leaving anyways…at least not until we release him. It hasn't worked out, but at least somebody tried.

The thing about Grigsby is that he was a part of that offence, so what does that say right there? Grigsby probably can get a 100 yard game with another team. Hamilton?..not sure if they run the ball that much for a 200 yard game though…he'll fall short of that. Drew Edwards (no relation to Drew Willy) commented that Austin likely did a thorough job of reviewing Grigsby's 'attitude' before signing that contract…so Austin's OK with that aspect. But that has no bearing on his attitude here. Do we really want a guy who'd rather not be here? A 200 yard game? Not even the worst run defence in the league would allow that.

That just seems the way life works….like not playing Sask. in the post Durant era or even after he comes out from throwing in the locker room.

Have people actually forgotten our QB crew from last year? We replaced the whole set, and it looks like we scored a few hits. Trade one? We don't even frigging know their true potential yet. And unless Portis is the next one, we should hang on to the ones we have…as long as possible. To even bring up Max Hall and Drew Willy in the same regard deserves the backash that has ensued, and I liked Hall's efforts.

23 years you say…is that just a coincidental number? Let's face it. 23 years for an athlete to compete in any professional sport is an amazing feat. To do it successfully is pretty good. To exceed at it, in some years, is the ultimate goal, is it not? A 17% success rate (4 in 23 years) doesn't seem like much, but it's a lot more than a lot of QBs. Average to above average? I'll take it. is the best way to describe Damon Allen. No one is trying to downplay his career, just where he ranks all time. I mean let's say Glenn had won the Cup in 2007 with the Bombers and won one with Calgary... would people start looking at him as an all time great? He's got good career stats and would have had a couple championships in this what if world... or would people still say he was just too average at best? Still average, that doesn't change. But take average, add a handful of BTA in a year or two, and you have what Allen has done…achieved a level of play that has garnered him more respect than a guy like Glenn has. Championships do that for a guy, a team and an organization. The Bombers organization, at this time, would love to have that 17% success rate I was talking about. I remember watching Allen. He was a bit…boring at times, but he won enough to earn more than a mere average tag. How about average with a capitol A?
