Definitely the O-Line gets more credit here and they need more work..together. Also, there is no doubt the evasiveness/quick releases of the backups showed up in the lack of sacks. Willy has to pick up that aspect of the game. Is it just a coincidence that Sask., with Sunseri and Doege in the lineup make i.e. look like their offensive line is just average?

Have we ever gone winless in a half season?
Mr Dee replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm not interested in losing streaks. -
Calgary is a good model to emulate, but that has no bearing on what has happened in the our past and mistakes made by other regimes. We can only be concerned on how we're proceeding going forward. Looks like we will be more open to trades, free agency and a more responsible attitude towards the CFL draft. Small steps. * Speaking of looking good on a Coach, Calgary's John Hufnagel searched out Chris Randle after the game yesterday to say hello etc..pretty classy move.

The Bombers only had 4 penalties in this game and no wonder O'Shea says some of them..aren't penalties. Although the interference penalty in the end zone was legit, that play likely isn't even tried without the terrible UR call against Jones. Jones was practically tackled on that play, fell over and tried not to land on the Calgary player. And, that call on big Louie Richardson for the arm tackle, 'scuse me, that's football. Right across the chest. bad call. Calgary is the better team, there is no doubt…but it was nice to see them worry a little bit out there.

Make no mistake, Brohm did a great job going through his progressions and finding the right reads, but he lacks both the mobility and the arm strength that Marve brings to the table. And that was playing him on the fly with basically no prep. I'd like to think if he was given a full week to prepare for a start, he would be even better. But I fully expect Willy will be back next week and playing with a chip on his shoulder. I think Brohm showed very well and I saw very good arm strength from him. He lacks mobility and his 'awareness' really needs work. His release and recognition are fine but he's got to 'feel' that defensive pressure better. As for Marve, he was very entertaining and was impressive but when you say he hasn't prepared, remember, the opposing team hasn't prepared for him either. Willy, once he recovers, is still ahead of both those guys…but it is nice to know that the backup position is secure.

Easy on the Marve pumping. The kid was exciting and did really well, but he played a team that's never paid attention to him. Kudos to him for a very good effort, but he's #3 for a reason.

Hardly, Demi can still dance up a storm.

Pick and choose what you want to from my posts if it makes you feel better, but facts are still facts and opinions? Well they're still just opinions.
-
But that's the thing KK. You're not stating facts…you're stating your opinions. Would there naturally be a certain let up when the score is up? Sure there would. Would Jones allow letting up because of circumstances? Not a chance. This is the same team who, on 3rd and 2 went for the 1st down, despite having a huge lead. They were stopped, but how is that letting up? Did they let us stop them? Nobody wants to get beat at whatever position they play. Edmonton's front 7 did not want to let up. They have stats to pad and bonuses to reach and plenty of rolling to be done. Brohm's release in that game was just enough to beat the oncoming rush, or did they let that happen too?…starting in the 2nd half. Go ahead and believe what you want to believe…because "you saw it live." I'll hang in here and believe what I see too. As to getting hammered, i'm more than capable of taking care of that myself.

Well, I for one, am so glad you've set the record straight. Now I can make my half time adjustments, knowing, in my heart, it won't do me any good. It's nice that the Eskimos went through the motions and left their #1 QB in there to continue getting hit and abused. Kind of foolish though. I guess that's why they kept going to Bowman…to ease him out of the lineup and wean him off setting any records. Good plan. I guess Thanksgiving Day WAS aptly named after all.

Even Pooh Bear would get depressed with you around.

The last time BLM came to Winnipeg, Calgary was well prepared and shredded Burke's defence while Burke was standing there saying"say what!" Last game, our D game plan was hooped within the 1st few series, and we had no answer 'til the half. I'm hoping we have a better plan this time, to at least make Calgary work for their points. We'll need it. As to beating Calgary? Why not? All's we need is a few misses, here and there, a few turnovers…our way, Cornish..to be less ish, and close enough for the game winning FG, with Brohm to play a solid game. That's not asking for too much…now is it? And no, I haven't started early.

Game day preparation is pretty important to the Team, and with a very short week of 1st and 2nd reps, I don't see Marve getting in unless he has a package they have been working on all year, or, of course through injury. I'd love to see Marve and Portis get some playing time, maybe in the last game, but if Willy is healthy, it won't happen.
-
The reality is that executing one more play in the end zone vs. Hamilton, would have resulted in a win. Execution, in any sport, is kinda important.
-
I don't think we legitimately want a QB controversy but the idea of a QB controversy means you must have two legitimate QBs. That's what we really want..at least two legitimate QBs.
-
You had to have seen this one coming…when you have a BMW, you know you're going to want to get the most out of it. Brohm, Marve, Willy, there you go, instant QB controversy.

Unamba and Sears bookending Wild, I think I'm going to like this. Seems like more hitting power right there. A full game for Brohm…anxious to see him and his confident air and decision-making on the field. He looked well prepared last game and threw the ball with authority. If he gets rid of the ball as quickly as last game, that might help the running game get more than 19 yards. Willy needs this game to sit back, watch, and only cringe from the sidelines. Time for Watson and Moore to step up. Maybe, just maybe, Brohm can hit Bryant's speed…in stride. Make some sort of use for him. Or across the middle..that worked. Intrigued by Jace Daniels, the name alone should earn him a roster spot. Lirim hajrullahu is on pace to set a Bomber FG % record, but I really hope he doesn't get any chances. Lirim Hajrullahu is on pace to set a 1st year CFL player FG % record, but I really hope he doesn't need to try. The minimum is 3 for 5 (and better) in order to stay on pace. *CFL News Teague Sherman will have to get his forced fumbles in limited time. He can join a small group of players that have over 5 ff.'s in one year. *CFL News Really looking for a better game, all around, to stop the negative momentum.

- The questions asked of O'Shea led the direction the answers went. If you want an answer to something specific…ask the question. - Cotton, I would say, hasn't been given the opportunity to prove himself, one way, or the other. - I agree, the options probably were: IR 1 game or PR - Grigsby's decision was probably pre-determined, what with a new agent and all. - Some kind of weird troll-like comments emanating out of Edmonton this morning.
-
I would prefer an up and coming defensive genius who's ready to break out with a devastatingly fresh new scheme, designed around movement and the ability to fool the hell out of any or all QBs and OCs in the league. Know any?
-
Try this, find any game, skip to the plays where we are running, jog until the point where Grigsby gets the ball, single frame it forward 'til you see the finger of the defender make severe contact with Grigsby"s shoe lace. At this point, i know what he's looking at…the ground, as that's where he seems to feel safest. Look, obviously I'm kidding here, to an extent, and I have to acknowledge the obvious shortcomings of our O-Line, but c'mon, my dear old grandmother had better balance carrying a jug of beer while bringing the spittoon to the boys in the bar. My bank account has better balance. There's a rumour that when Grigsby got his release, on the way out, he missed the opening where the door was. When he found it, he stumbled over the threshold. What do knock knock jokes and arm tackles have in common? Grigsby always falls for them. This just wasn't a match. Why should there be this much drama?

Here's where the Bravo should come in. Both Goalie and TBieber have provided researched, and very interesting information. And thanks for that. It just goes to show you what we may have forgotten over the course of the year when the losses started mounting. This team, and this defence, was keeping us in games for the majority of the year. Even the offence, when not turning the ball over, was working, albeit in a walking manner. The running game, for all the obvious (and not obvious) reasons put a lot of pressure on a 1st year QB, who was just starting to figure out the game. But the rest of the league passed us by, Willy got flummoxed, and shooting ourselves in the foot became our weekly game. 5 turnovers in the Sask. game was the start of it. Geez I hate those guys.
-
Am I the only one that saw the Stamps DB's passing around a joint in the second half??? Based on this quote alone, I'm not entirely sure who's passing around the joint.
-
I don't know about that. In a very limited time frame, I would look at Brohm beating out Alex Brink, and Tanner Marsh…and they're still on the Alouette roster.
-
And I'd argue that under Brohm, we actually held onto the ball longer, keeping it out of the other team's hands. It still boils down to execution and not giving the team points on turnovers…you know, like we did again last game. In the blink of an eye there was a 14 point turnaround (at least 10) and we're not good enough to withstand those kind of mistakes. We'll play the game and if we're at least prepared, we'll be in the game.
