  1. I'm going to go out on a limb here and pretend I know as much as O'Shea when it comes to using certain players over others. No wait, I won't, because…. because I don't know all there is to know about the reasons behind the reasoning. All I do know is that they didn't throw all the names in a disgusting-looking helmet and let the chips fall where they may. I'm a Sears fan as well as a Suber fan, and maybe even Kromah, but I haven't seen enough of him, but I'm going to follow O'Shea's philosophy of "there's only the next game" and see where that takes us. So far, the path has been rewarding and the reasoning has been mostly easy to follow.
  2. I don't really care one way or the other about Burris but his contract is another matter. With an established QB on the roster, all the RBs had to do was spend the money they wasted on Burris and acquire FAs. How many could they have acquired? At least 2, probably 3, and they could have been receivers. (Nick Moore for example) Of course Glenn couldn't have done much better but you never know. Being an expansion team, you have to develop a team over time. They had Glenn - develop DeMarco, or at least determine if DeMarco is the way to go. One or two clutch receivers would have helped. Look to the draft and the next Free Agency. IMO, they went to far, too soon when they went all in with Burris, especially when they could easily have lost all those games with Glenn instead. Coaching, well that's another playbook in the writing, isn't it?
  3. And it had been said by some that Ottawa had better players than the Bombers and with an established QB…they would have a better team and have more wins than the Big Blue……………………………………….. …………………………………………………………OK then.
  4. Man, they had a chance to blow the competition out of the water after they introduced those helmets….but this uniform is anti-climatic and ho hum.
  5. A friend of mine innocently changed the words of a Barry McGuire song recently and I find it funny and somewhat appropriate. The song is Eve of Destruction and the fourth verse begins with: 'Think of all the hate there is in Red China' She changed Red China to Regina and didn't miss a beat. If she would have said "think of all the hate there is for Regina", then she would have been bang on.
  6. As long as they're executed properly.
  7. Then again, proper execution is essential to the schemes that are being used.
  8. Yikes…invasion of the body scratchers
  9. That's not asking for trouble…..this is asking for trouble…………………..
  10. So Wade Miller went from blocking David Asper's entrance to the Bomber locker room in 2005, rather briskly, to fitting uncomfortably in Asper's back pocket? Pardon me while I try to picture that. You're doing better than me - I'm still trying to wrap my head around "fact". As Inigo Montoya would say - "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Thanks, fact is, now I have to go back and rethink this whole thread, from the beginning, with no help from anybody from Montana.

  12. The name Desjardins loosely translates into "of the gardens" but Marcel is giving that name a whole different meaning, and not one many would be proud of. There is nothing logical about that offer when you have a team in that stage of development.
  13. So Wade Miller went from blocking David Asper's entrance to the Bomber locker room in 2005, rather briskly, to fitting uncomfortably in Asper's back pocket? Pardon me while I try to picture that. Are you sure that was Wade who did that in 2005? I heard it was an OL. I did hear that about Miller originally, and then read it: "The last time we saw David Asper in a football locker-room, he was being pushed out by a group of surly Blue Bombers, led by none other than Wade Miller." - http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/08/28/david-asper-goes-from-villain-to-hero-in-sometimes-nasty-stadium-saga

  15. This scrimped writing style of yours works fine over at the Riders site where they can hardly tell the difference between…well anything, but c'mon you have to give more credit to a Bomber fan board that knows the difference between…well everything. Seems the letters you know best is BS and you like to spin those every which way but real. Just save it for the boys who buy that green goop, and you'll save yourself a lot of blowback outside of closed doors.
  16. I'd prefer us to take back our Stanley Cup Trophy and only have a Canadian league with a Grandfather clause for Detroit, New York, Chicago and Boston as part of our league but, alas, who am I kidding? No, I don't like the expansion idea. Firstly, they should take care of the teams that are struggling and move them if they must, but ideally, they should cut back teams until the product resembles hockey again. Oh, and less games that don't reach into June. (and no interference challenge reviews)
  17. To me, they're missing something from their uniform that is tantamount to our uniforms missing the Gold…and that is they're missing their Tiger stripes. They look good..but Tony the Tiger will be disappointed.
  18. Who said they had differences? The thread you use as your reference says "it is believed ...." Finish reading the sentence. The belief was they reached a mutual agreement……due to philosophical differences. How does that make it they had differences? I guess Miller believed the position was unnecessary and Bell didn't agree…you know they didn't think the same. I respect Miller's right to fire Bell but to say it was because he did not buy into the plan is not correct. What I'm trying to say here is I have a hard time believing Bell would not have bought in a plan that was good for the Bombers. I don't think you should take this whole removal thing personally. Nobody is attacking Jim Bell. And if you don't like the phrasing 'in' with the plan, then how about 'in sync' or running on the same track, reading from the same book, didn't wade in the same pool…hell I don't know. Tell Jim I didn't mean anything by it.
  19. I assume you know something about this? Jim lived Blue & Gold so please explain what you mean. What has living Blue and Gold have to do with it? Miller also lives Blue and Gold. I'm not steering this thread, and I'm not purporting to know anymore than anyone else, I'm just following along with the same information everybody else has Reported earlier was the phrasing: gbill2004, on 26 Aug 2014 - 1:11 PM, said: Bell says he did not resign his position. It is believed he and CEO Wade Miller reached a mutual agreement on a parting of the ways due to philosophical differences. They had differences, I can't see Miller not being in with the plan…that leaves Bell. Call it what you will... re-structuring, firing, salary cuts, whatever…it doesn't mean Bell is anything but another good guy who lost a position he loves. It happens to all of us. I was just saying people are jumping on Miller…without knowing all the facts and perhaps on previous prejudices of Miller. I just see it as another Bomber organizational move, I'm not trying to breath life into any rumour.
  20. Holy crap, talk about throwing around rumour and innuendo. The anti-Miller crowd is out in full force. Seems to me changes from the past were in order and it looks like the changes mostly have been positive. Bell, as COO, has a nice ring to it, but if he's not "in" with the plan, I guess they had to move on. Miller and Walters seem to be on the same plan long range and goal-wise and that's, at least, a very good start. What I've also 'figured out' is that winning, also starts with 'W,' and I've already seen proof of that.
  21. Dressler will probably head back to ReChina, being familiar with the team and system and really, who can blame him? Ottawa? big money? We've seen how that worked already for the RBs…not to be pointed out as a model that works. Winnipeg? Two big money receivers? Not likely. 'Tis be nice to dream I guess, but are we just one receiver away from it all?….or can we spend that money more wisely?
  22. Don't know what's going on with the Argos but Jeremiah Johnson, Terrell Sinkfield and Anderson are all gone. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=460268
  23. If it's between Hall and Bilikudi, then i would like to see the Cristo kid in a Bomber uniform. Interest in Hall would be nice but, does Hall have an interest in the type of role Hall would be asked to play in. He would be great in a rotational flipping of players at DE, allowing Vega to recuperate properly and the much under-appreciated Greg Peach to continue his strong play on fresher legs. *By the way, how great does Peach have to play to get any respect around these parts?
  24. Well, it comes with its own private, individualized, outhouse.
  25. Concussions are not transmitted by sharing helmets , just coodies are.
