  1. Not for a second do I think Buck is not fully committed to being as good a RB Coach as he can be….
  2. The idea that these men (Walters and O'Shea) have brought in, is an indication of their belief in what they're doing, and the dedication to bringing in guys who will fit into each other's idea of what constitutes a professional, both in attitude and workmanship. It's not that they have just employed Canadian talent just because they were available, but also it seems they have to have a certain mindset that will work on this team. The knowledge, in the background of these players, is impressive, and that mostly goes into Walters' wallet, but to eliminate O'Shea's knowledge would be short-sighted, as he seems to have a great grasp of the personnel they acquire. It's exciting to see these no-names get a chance to play the game they love as much as we do. And it's damn exciting to see the Bombers take the lead in giving them these chances.
  3. That's odd, I have this uncontrollable urge to talk about the Grey Cup.
  4. No need to wonder or worry iso…it may be that RG is just Russian Ray's demise.
  5. I get this feeling that Cotton will only get his chance in our bye week. This week, for instance, both teams have a short practice week, so we're liable to see the same line up…….unless, Greaves, Kelly, Vega, Sears, Watson show up…..wow, that's a lot of starters out.
  6. There is something odd or 'off' about that whole Will Ford scenario. Right from the non-signing at free agency..right through training camp, then right up to his release. Some think it's a mistake, but if Will Ford was really going to be the guy…make no mistake, he would have been the guy.
  7. You're not allowed to use superlatives anymore. The erroneous application/prediction with the word romp disqualifies you.
  8. Yeah, it was a miss, it hit one of the uprights. However, if you hit somebody's upright arm, and it is blocked, it doesn't count as a field goal attempt at all and Rene Paredes streak goes into the record book. That's quite a quirk in the rules. Sounds like a failed attempt to me.
  9. Can't we finally get away from the talk of Ford? Talking about him is about as useless as handoffs to Grigsby or our QB sneaks. That guy ain't no longer in our garage.
  10. It's turns out Harris did get a win last night. Good job Blue.
  11. Bluely noted: Our QB sneaks are…poor, getting right up there with Boltus-poor (iI know that's Harsh). Can't Knapp or Bryant do sneaks? Maybe we can borrow somebody? Interviews during games…..absolutely hate them. Rod Black - sigh, couldn't tell the tackler would not have been Carl Volny? 1min 23 secs. left in the game and they still had a chance? We deserve better. JFG - MIA did he get in? RB - MIA - played LH - all over the action - great job - 2 FGs totalling 100 yards (51,49) awesome! I don't like that play where they give the ball to Grigsby and supply him with a BC escort - doesn't seem like a good play. Why not a pitch to the outside….to get around those guys? Two players we had to stop WERE the two players we did stop. Harris, 38 ru, 23 rec, - Arceneaux, 63 yds. rec. Good job D Zac Anderson - strong performance Aaron Woods - welcome back! Nick Moore - all over the field in receiving and blocking. Maurice Leggett - now THAT was safety play. Welcome to the receiving core, young Carter! 5 penalties. 2 sacks allowed Grigsby 19 yds. rushing Drew Willy 19 yds. 7 - different receivers last night (no Romby Bryant) 6 - different players got a sack 5 - Fgs a-kicking 4 - quarters a-playing 3 - top BC players a-stopping 2 - interceptions a-grabbing 1 - big win on the West Coast against a Western team so now, can we shut up about it?
  12. Grigsby can no longer be termed a running back. His is the play that happens before and after a successful play from our other playmakers. He is a ball holder until the next play. Time for a change.
  13. But that's the thing. Reilly has to be the timing. He's not fooling anybody. Get the ball, look at your call, throw the ball, preferably to a receiver, otherwise away. It is not a regular play. It's supposed to be a bonus chance. The one thing he can't do is lose the position he had…Reilly did just that. He screwed up…plain and simple.
  14. …..We'll see this look a lot tonight.
  15. I'm also going to try the: I was going to take this guy anyways but now I can pass the blame off on someone else if it doesn't pan out method. Chevon and on and on. Jacquie is to blame if it doesn't work. I've changed my pick. You can blame Y2C if you want - he's the one whose pick I originally used in the Mr. Dee method. Jacquie, congratulations, you Burked both Y2C and I in the same sentence....well done! (although it's kind of dark under this bus) Thank you. If it makes you feel better I can try to find a flashlight for you. You're ever ready aren't you? Thanks.

  17. Calgary Vs Edmonton - Reilly definitely pulled a Jonesy. How do you not know you have to get rid of the ball? Give your head a shake. On second thought…don't, your head been shaken enough. What's a Jonesy? It is, what will become known when any team pulls a boner move, such as what Edmonton tried in their end zone, in a tight game. It even surpasses a Burkesy, which is just not doing anything...anything at all, that might help win a game. Which looked like what both teams were trying to do last night....not do anything that might win the game. Blocked punt for a TD? sure...here's one for you. Turnover on downs at your own 32? sure...here's one for you. 17 points off of turnovers in the 1st half? why not? some more for you. Fumbles, turn-over-on-downs like crazy, and another O'Dell Willis knock down of an interception. And I'm still waiting to be impressed by Bo Levi Mitchell...124 yards passing? Renaud can do that. 7 wins in a row to start the season... there should be an asterisk....he played a very predictable Burke-led defence last year and it was like cherry picking. An asterisk like there should be for Rene Paredes with his FG consecutive streak. You know, the one that included a blocked field goal attempt...that didn't count against him. Every time they (Rod Black actually) mentions that...I shake my head. And Reilly? Really? He is flat-lining or something. Some of the decisions he is making are flat out Jyles-like. A giant game between two stifling defences reduced to questionable calls and bone-headed decisions. Should have ended in a tie.
  18. I think the elder Fitzgerald name is Robert, and I meant his son….
  19. Grigsby this….Cotton that. I think all we really want is success at the running back position. Success there likely means we'll get a passing game going. After all we have a capable QB now. I also want each receiver to catch at least 5 passes for a minimum of 60 yards each and that includes Pontbriand and Fitzgerald, although theirs can be cumulative. I want Marve to get a TD on a sneak and Willy to get one on a 15 yard run. 3 out of 3 FGs for Haju and our defence to force a safety. Oh, and an int/fumble return for a TD. Did I miss anything?
  20. I can't think of a finer gesture to honour these two characters in the history of the Blue Bombers. Well done! Now we have all the media legends covered.
  21. ……………AKA…………JOHNNY DEPTH
  22. I certainly wouldn't use the word critical in describing a lack of depth when talking about the Bombers. In fact, up to this next game, I've only seen a lack of execution, at a critical time, in one game, and here and there in the other games. It's not that the Bombers have preformed depth-defying feats this past off season, but the belief and nurturing of youngsters like Feoli-Gudino, Sherman, Thomas, Bucknor, Fraser, Johnson and Cornell have helped them weather some tough situations, and, for the most part, without too much disruption. We'll see soon enough I guess, but they believe if they execute, they can play with anybody. So, it now becomes a matter of lack of execution as opposed to lack of depth, and that is correctible.
  23. Then that's when Hebert should be allowed to play again.
  24. So what you're telling us is that it was an intentional trick play by Reilly? If that's the case he had better watch himself in the future if he does that again! I wouldn't call it a trick play. he stumbled, fell forward & got back up right away. At the same time, I don't think the tackling was very good on defense all night & sure he took advantage of it. The way I see it, he's going to get smoked at some point this season & get injured. I take issue with what you're saying. Reilly did not stumble. He deliberately turned his body and was headed down when he saw Washington. To me, he was giving himself up to avoid Washington's hit. I'm not even sure Washington didn't brush him. And yes, he will get smoked if he continues like that.
  25. I'm going to do it differently this week…Going to go with whomever is picked by the poster who last picked when I logged on. Blue-urns, we're going with Adarius Bowman.
