If by hilarious, you mean irritating to point of turning it off…you're right. They're absolutely destroying any meaningful credibility that they had. Bob Irving can only do so much.

I support the coaching theory, I just don't see it in defending the likes of Boatman and Taormina. They should have been replaced.

See I have a hard time getting so jonesed up of a switch in what system a GM uses to grade players. Here's a relevant example from my job, I use a specific program to do my work in, the guy I am reporting to now though has forced me to switch to a new system because in his mind it's far superior and makes more sense for everyone. It's not, it makes more sense to him, to me it's just a giant pain in the ass when I can get a better picture in the program I was using before. The point? Different people see things differently, doesn't make one way better or worse than the other just that for different people different approaches work. Of all the things wrong with the Bombers the last couple years finding prospects from the states was absolutely not one of the problems. Nobody has to get excited about using a new system. Especially, as in your case, if the fit isn't right. I get that. My point was that since we already have access to the system, we might as well make use of it. It's a tool...anything to get a better read on questions about a new player. Finding prospects from the states wasn't really the problem I agree, although I still question why we couldn't come up with a better O-Line prospect than Boatman or Taormina at the drop of a hat. Never mind QB.

I'm always for making better usage of whatever resources we have at hand. For instance, more eyes on prospects, i.e. for the specific needs of the Bombers, and... that computerized scouting system..well again I see the benefits of a standardized grading of players seeing as it was developed for the CFL, and why not take advantage of it…seeing as we're paying for it anyways. I have no issues with the players brought to us by the previous regime…it just seemed to be too specific to certain types of players and didn't address our needs in some areas (QB especially) and I was never a fan of missing combines where other CFL teams seemed to find some good players. It's looks like it's going to be a fresh outlook on getting new talent, the first of which we will see?/ hear about starting next weekend with the rookie mini camp starting then.

Exactly. And if you ask me, anonymous posters quoting OTHER anonymous people trashing someone's personality holds exactly zero credibility with me. And I agree with what you're saying. Fortunately, there are places for people who behave like this. It's called anonymous anonymous. Unfortunately this place isn't doing very well as they don't have a membership list and nobody wants to step forward to organize nor identify problem areas.

I see nothing wrong with awareness in what's going on in our world and certain efforts to increase awareness. Not everything should be easily dismissed as rantings and over-emphasising. After all, we are, and have always been, our own worst enemy.

Win If You Can, Lose If You Must, But Always Cheat
Mr Dee replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
There is never a time I don't want my team to win. Never. That means I always want the worst draft pick positioning...every year. And I'm willing to win just to get it. As a fan, cheering to lose to get a better draft position just doesn't cross my mind in what I want from my team. -
Bob Wylie to be new O-Line coach - Confirmed
Mr Dee replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
But nobody's pretending anything…we just don't know. For years we've had these guys who may, or may not be any good, and we've had questions about the coaching. Now, we have somebody we can trust to evaluate. That's the whole point of procuring somebody who will know…and do something about it, and that does warrant the optimism behind this hire. -
Looks like Wally just got Westerman'd!

Bob Wylie to be new O-Line coach - Confirmed
Mr Dee replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Absolutely good news. And yes, the wording of his addition "The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today that Bob Wylie has been added to the club’s football staff and will oversee the development of the offensive line." is interesting. Now, we can finally gauge the value of the O-Line we've had around here for years…with trusted judgment. Welcome to the new addition to the Blue Bombers… The Overseer, Bob Wylie! -
Here's a Winnipeg video with a take-off on the song "The Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. A tribute to the frustration Winnipegers must be going through after the winter you've just had. "The Ottawa RedBlacks have modified the name of their mascot from "Big Joe Mufferaw" to simply "Big Joe," after receiving criticism from the region's Francophone community." - CBC News Well, there's only one more way to shorten that name now.

We'll never know the reasons behind the reasons why Joey E. has no love from the coaches…but I'll say this much, that's three releases from two different sets of coaches and apparently, Khari didn't put in a good word for him either as BC's new OC. He didn't convince the right people and that alone convinces me.

Just lying around Kev…...it's just what we do.

That is interesting and leads to a lot of conjecture as to what was real and what was only on their wish list. Was seeking advice and direction from the Big Boys such as Don Fehr too much? What about this statement, made barely two weeks ago? : “We are as strong as we’ve ever been — if not stronger,” union president Mike Morreale said, Thursday. “People see that there’s a lot of positive things going on in the CFL. And they feel the timing is right. They’ve rallied together. They see good things on the horizon.” And now Morreale's gone and Flory is in. That was fast. There must be a moral in there somewhere.

"Should" being the operative word. Hall passed Elliott in learning how to play the CFL game in a much shorter time period and I say that being a former Elliott supporter. Elliott maybe didn't get the proper evaluation here, but you can't tell me two teams made the same mistake. No, both players are where they ought to be.

Maybe so, but they do have enough linen to rotate with as many as 5 hotels, so that must count for something.

…Are they introducing this new character in this movie?

I'm quietly waiting for your second post .

Still, he was looked upon more as Garth Vadar and many treated him as such. Once you start off on the wrong foot and put said foot in one's mouth, rightly or wrongly, you will be perceived as the ill in the ill-timed press release. Lesson is to check the facts…beforehand, and you won't get facted in the end. It's one of those..seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-the-time scenarios.

Pretty sure he was on the Bombers' neg list for quite some time. Quite right. Here's more: April 11 2011 WHITE OFF BLUE RADAR: The Bombers have removed former West Virginia star Pat White from their neg list, according to a CFL executive. White, drafted by the Miami Dolphins but released in 2009, had turned his attention to baseball but stepped away from an opportunity with the Kansas City Royals last month. Winnipeg opted to move on as there were questions about whether White was going to continue with his football career and because they have some other QB prospects they find interesting, particularly with those free agents that don't get drafted in the NFL later month likely to look north for opportunities. http://www.cfl.ca/article/bombers-coaches-learn-from-the-master

David William Naylor @TSNDaveNaylor 56m Wow, Pat White, former West Virgina QB, is an Edmonton Eskimo. #cfl

…..Is this similar to his phone robyn?

And this totally it for me also. An announcement like this is supposed to be totally exciting and geared to create a positive environment for the next two years as we progress towards that date. Honestly, the politics involved should be kept separate and maybe relegated to another thread. That distraction should have nothing to do with this upcoming gala. Let us enjoy this for what it is and what we can make it. This will be great for Winnipeg and the Province of Manitoba.

You know you're not helping your case when you spell Dressler wrong. He's currently under duress.
