  1. And why, prey tell, should the 'Peg be punished in that way?
  2. Kane, I'd keep. Maturity may do him wonders. Not much else on this team that the Jets can afford to let go, and still be worth much. That leaves Buff. He's an intriguing character and player and would be worth more on the trading block than for long term development…if the price is right. I'm with Cheveldayoff in the 'wait and develop corner'. If only it would take two years to be contender, I'd be thrilled. Two years to wait, to last ten years in the playoff mode, and then some, would be 'Detroitish' and would be well worth it.
  3. Smith sounds like the quintessential CFL-centre-OL-developmental-type player to me.

  5. So if the CFL has discussed this questionable proposal, and it passed, if the Governors veto it, does that qualify as passed interference? And , if so, can it then be reviewed and challenged?
  6. ……….Upon further review When you consider all the factors, the decision to include reviews of PIs would not be a good idea. PIs are not, and never has been, always cut and dried. Even with better training, which should be a no-brainer, calls are made on the fly, sometimes in a mixture of action, and maybe only seen from one angle…the ref's. Leave it in the hands of the refs, with clearer training, and move on.
  7. Cohon says player's union doesnt have the won-tons to go through with it. He does? Do tell.. And I believe the word you're looking for is….Cohonees. And I believe the word you're looking for is ... Cojones. It's a Spanish word meaning testicles. Wontons are Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) dumplings that look like testicles when boiled. So technically he could have used either word. So his original analogy is correct. But that would mean Mark would have to change his name from Cohon to Cojon.
  8. Are you saying yes to that Bob Wylie thingy or remembering the answer you got at the end of your first date?
  9. Cohon says player's union doesnt have the won-tons to go through with it. He does? Do tell.. And I believe the word you're looking for is….Cohonees.
  10. Are you pleading for the Bob Wylie thingy or just remembering the words at the end of your first date?
  11. And then what will happen? We'll start making CIS QBs our starting QBs and we'll start winning GCs. It will be one big mess. Canadian QBs as starters? Winning GCs. We'll ruin the CFL. Good suggestions guys. The Real Canadian SuperStar League would make sense. Now, if we can only think of a viable League sponsor….
  12. Remember all those bullfrog pass interference flags thrown/not thrown last year? Maybe this year something will be done about it. TORONTO -- The Canadian Football League is considering making pass interference subject to video review as part of a significant review of its rule book, the league revealed today. Under a proposal to be voted on Thursday evening by the league's Rules Committee, coaches would be allowed to challenge both called and potential defensive pass interference fouls under certain conditions. http://cfl.ca/article/open-for-discussion-cfl-rules-committee-table-changes
  13. Let's face it, Doug, being a former player, well, we know where his allegiances will be. But he does know what the players have been through…and what they've had to swallow..waiting for a period in time when things would be better for the league…as in right now. Everybody will have to put away the plumage and play nice and share more...with the players this time. Both sides know the importance of this, and the disaster that would follow if we were to lose games this year. They will get it done because to think what would happen if they don't….
  14. Yeah Spuds, it's not the Canadian National Anthem that begins with "O'Shea can you see…"
  15. This information was on MBB's own twitter account… Brian Chiu would be a really good addition and would fit right in to what the O'Shea team is trying to build here. MorningBigBlue ‏@MorningBigBlue Mar 14 Bryan Chiu parts ways with Concordia. Winnipeg still needs an OL coach. Very highly regarded coach. Makes you wonder ...
  16. Those guys deserve to be sued…if only for their choice of nicknames.
  17. Nah, league revenues flow through the Mark*man's office and he knows how to use a calculator. You're thinking Mark's only a semi-Cohon in the punctuation of league politics, but he does have some powers and backing amongst the owners, and I really don't think the boys want to snub the hand that feeds them.
  18. No, I don't believe so. We have to be careful this time. IMO, we gotta get some sort of value out of this pick. It'll be good for the team psyche to get back on track with a good draft pick. A bonafide starter, in reasonable time, would be ideal, but he has to be on the roster in some way this year.
  19. It's Canada, he'll have to be Quatre-Vingt Cinq-o.
  20. And it doesn't seem to be getting any bettor.
  21. I'd say never say never…but then I just did, so…is that proof?
  22. Well, formerly being a Dr. helps….
  23. Arash Madani @ArashMadani “We get the feeling the league and owners believe we’re weak. They’re sorely mistaken,” said a #CFL player close to the negotiations. Arash Madani @ArashMadaniHave learned the #CFL proposed an 8-year CBA – longer than the TV deal (league's main revenue source). CFLPA response: "That's ridiculous." Arash Madani @ArashMadaniIn the dark on CBA: #CFL coaches and general managers. Five front office types told me they have "no idea" what's gone on with negotiations. Arash Madani @ArashMadaniThe CFLPA has kept membership aware of the process via conference calls. One player said union and #CFLare “at polar opposites right now.”
