  1. Kyle also mentioned: - All teams, not just the Bombers are laying low, as to trades, 'til after the draft. - Once Ottawa names their QBs, the rest of the QB questions and answers will follow. - Factors such as age, salaries, injuries, and how 'good' a player is went into our protected list. - Trades may occur after Mon. when Ottawa has their roster. - Stated that Ottawa will just announce their roster, not piecemeal. - Winnipeg does not get other teams protected lists, just pretty well had to figure them out. - Winnipeg will get their QB even if they have to wait 'til FAgency. They will not do anything just to "appease" the media or fans, just do what's best for the club with the least risk. (i.e.. trading an asset for a FA who they might not be able to sign.) - Expect to get some players to fill the back end of the roster through the neg. list draft today. (think Taylor Renaud type of guy) Mike O. is busy working on his staff and I found it informative to know that he has full control on who he talks to and hires. * I also was impressed at the apparent work ethic and general attitude of young Mr. Walters.
  2. If true, To Rich Stubler, welcome to the Big Blue. To Marcel Bellefeuille, …please, no. No offence, but that's just it, no offence. Oh, and Boltus, Need I say more?
  3. More waiting. Any speculation on what he'll be speaking about? Ha, that's a good one. I had an answer all ready for your post and when I "quoted" it, it was entirely a different post. The old bait and switch. It's just odd that the phrasing of this information stated, "regarding the upcoming draft." Both you and MOAB may be right in that it could be because we have our Kho-ordinators in place, whomever they may be. Or perhaps, Walters will be explaining Bomber procedures as a reaction to how Ottawa chooses. The announcements keep rolling in and that can never be a bad thing when you're waiting for developments. Edit 4:12 pm - just saw that this message was posted in the CFL Forum at the EP which would seem to indicate it is not a Bomber-related PC?
  4. Regarding the upcoming draft, Walters is having a press conference Friday the 13th @ 11:00 am. What secrets does he have to reveal on that lucky day?
  5. 1) "It appears the Bombers are just waiting for Stubler’s B.C. contract to expire before officially adding him to the fold." http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/12/11/winnipeg-blue-bombers-in-a-holding-pattern-when-it-comes-to-acquiring-quarterback 2) "One of the leading candidates for the offensive co-ordinator job is Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterbacks coach Khari Jones, and he would be very familiar with Willy. In fact, one CFL source Wednesday said the quarterbacks the Bombers are interested in are very likely Collaros and Willy, with Burris as the wild card." 3) "New head coach Mike O’Shea has been working on getting his staff together, but no announcements have been made. At last check, candidates had been interviewed and were waiting to learn their fates."
  6. This guy will attract Wylie.. …Wile E. can't resist him.
  7. Never ceases to amaze me how well the Bombers can disguise their hiring of Khari weeks ago.
  8. That's actually very interesting and makes you wonder if these guys weren't being allowed full control over the offence. That would be a sticky point for these guys as I'm sure they wouldn't want to be messed with like some have done in the past. I guess it's OK if you're the HC, to mess with the OC's plan, but when you're the OC it's "hands off Mr HC".
  9. Obviously, LaPo saw Buck's name was still on the roster.
  10. I gotta believe that all teams have/had their own strategy in protecting what they have and projecting what they can do after the draft. I expect that even though a team had an idea for a trade to at least come even in assets, they couldn't convince another team to alter their strategy. I mean, why would you want to help say, Toronto, benefit with an extra NI O-lineman, when Ottawa could take one of theirs and not one of yours. That, the uncertainty of NFL try-outs, and FAs and lots of movement in the coaching ranks, all could have had some effect on the thinking of GMs, I would surmise.
  11. I'm not going to get into all the old Jaded arguments from before but this news is encouraging to me simply for the fact that we're moving on from the old fossil-like grudge-holding regime and maybe, just maybe, young Etienne will be given a chance to reach his true potential.
  12. Best of luck to monsieur Labbe, the team just got a little weaker, both in his play and in his spirit. Good Canadian character is not easily drafted and I feel that after all the forward progress made with the recent hirings, we've just lost a few yards in player character. Maybe they'll name a Latte after you at the Stadium. The Labbe Latte. You know, a good blend of strength and character. The only thing is .. you'll have to drink it slowly.
  13. …Me waiting.
  14. To be fair to Cauchy, nobody's pure.
  15. And by outdrew, you mean:
  16. There won't be any stopping Joey and Buck now. (unless they get on the field)
  17. The cap? Their heads are too big for the cap as they believe whatever they did is justified as they are the chosen. Sask. has had their day and now we'll be hearing about it for a long time. BC and even Tor. handled winning pretty well, but I bet Sask. puts the "in" back in "sufferable"
  18. So possibly it was Jennifer Jones that was spotted coming to Winnipeg, not Khari. Anyways, congrats to Team Jones for their impressive curling performance, and good luck in the Olympics!
  19. One thing I covet of Burris, is his ability to fire the ball…hard, either short or downfield. He's got an arm. Compare him to what we've seen from our QBs and then just shudder. Which of course leads to my next question. How far advanced is arm exchange/replacement surgery?
  20. ……Rejoice!
  21. I wonder if cushions were their giveaways?
  22. The Minnesota Vikings worked out Canadian Football League standout pass rusher Alex Hall, according to a league source. The Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive end wasn't immediately signed to a contract. He was traded to Saskatchewan from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this season. He was named an East Division All-Star. The Vikings also worked out wide receivers Dontrelle Inman, Chris Matthews and Nick Moore and defensive tackle Ted Laurent. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Vikings-work-out-CFL-pass-rusher-Alex-Hall.html
  23. A re-branding? Bluester Juice?
  24. Did he say that? I don't recall hearing it. I don't recall that either, but I do know he was considered a candidate for what was, at that time, the expected HC opening for Edmonton.
  25. Hmm, the timing is odd. O'Shea hurries off from the presser to make calls. Then Higgins resigns for parts unknown. Curious. Hmm, the timing is odd. O'Shea hurries off from the presser to make calls. Then Higgins resigns for parts unknown. Curious. (the last part was just a visual review)
