  1. NO! I did NOT say or imply that. Just that, well.... am I the only guy who used to see the old school players in the bars after games? Damon Allen was another piece of work. Guy sure liked to "socialize." That certainly was an unnecessary….suggestion.
  2. There is nothing wrong if Danny M, were to be considered, in some capacity, working again with the WBB football club…where he belongs.
  3. Let me guess, they'd give you the specialty of the house, the renown 'Flying Goose Bumps'.
  4. That's known, more commonly, as green algae.
  5. Ugh giving up the first round pick outright is too high a price to pay for a FA qb. This. Toronto should be the one who's desperate, - they're losing an asset for nothing, if Ottawa drafts him, you get zip, he leaves as a free agent, you get zip. And then one thinks back to our QB play over the last few years….
  6. …If you give me a cookie, I will say I did.
  7. Do you mean from the flight of Calgary yesterday?
  8. Brice Dream: I noticed you skimmed over this part ""are correct in judgments related to their area of expertise more often than laypersons" and that was the point, I believe. B-F-F-C: "So lets leave the decision up to those that have more CFL experience than all of us combined." It's not necessarily who we hire, but rather, how well they, and those they hire, do their jobs.
  9. The better of those two games yesterday was easily the Ham.-Tor. game that featured consistent offence from Ham. and a shut-down 2nd half defence. They had the defending Grey Cup champions guessing at the end of the game and fully deserve this Cup date after defeating both Montreal and Toronto. I can't say exactly the same for Sask, but they did stop Cornish, and Calgary had no answer. As for Calgary, if they want to play Bomber football (2 ints.-4 fumbles) we should gladly give them our playbook. Bottom line…both those teams deserve a Grey Cup appearance, but only one of them will have an insufferable fan base if they win. Need I say which?
  10. OMG, you are...your…avatar.
  11. Congrats KBF on your picks. Me, I'm at a firm, clear indecision on who I want to win. Might have to consult the Magic 8 Ball.
  12. Do the expectations/predictions change much now that R. McCune is going to miss the EF? "The Toronto Argonauts will be without their defensive leader when they host Burris and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Rogers Centre. Middle linebacker Robert McCune, whose 99 tackles were second-most in the CFL this season, won't play due because of a shoulder injury." http://www.ctvnews.ca/sports/argos-mccune-to-miss-east-division-final-due-to-injury-1.1546719
  13. Here's your answer iso_ Did Buchko take a buy-out?….
  14. This business about Miller looming over GMs and forcing his hand is speculative at best. From what I've seen and heard, Miller has seen 1st hand what a controlling GM (Mack) can do to coaches, and he didn't like it. Can it not be as simple as Miller wants is to prevent any GM from unduly influencing what his HCs do?
  15. Denmark's performance was credited to Marcel B, not the receivers coaching. Hall is somewhat of a credible QB with a good history, of course he's going to improve…with more playing time. Starter numbers leading a fledgling offence and subpar defensive scheming does not provide proof of the quality of the roster either way. Why is it that basically the same defence can perform so well against one team and stink out against another? Yes, execution…but also, scheming and coaching. I'm not saying a third of the roster can't be replaced, but also, 88% of the coaching as well.
  16. Max Hall performed just well enough to come into a game when the starter goes down…no more. In other words…he's a backup. And... No consideration for the abysmal coaching?
  17. It's also amazing how more talented the players become with smarter coaching.
  18. You can stand by your fact but it doesn't make it right. How can you say a 3-15 team has talent? Sure, at a few positions but overall, not enough. Take Ricky Ray out of the equation, and insert Justin Goltz, or Jason Boltus., you're not getting close to half the same results. Sometimes a great player at a key position makes everybody around them better by association. Chad Owens can attest to that. He has become a much better receiver with RR throwing the ball.
  19. I think what you've just posted here (interview Miller and Higgins) is exactly what the poster wanted you to provide a link to. What interview would that have been? The source is you, not Higgins and Miller, you're the one supplying this "interview info."
  20. OK, I'm not sure, exactly, if this is where posters are getting answers to their questions, but it seems just as reliable. http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~ssanty/cgi-bin/eightball.cgi
  21. You can spin it anyway you want about how many, in any given roster, are expendable. Just look at the win-loss record and performance evaluations on any team and you will have a good idea. But there is no team that can get by with "only their best" players, so it's foolish to say there are only 6 on any team that should be kept…including this one.
  22. i dunno man... i look at who the 24 nominal starters would be and only see a handful that i would "just have to" keep. think about it. You're talking 24 starters, which is still debatable, ...but iso_55 refers to the whole roster. And you're not going to turn over 40 players in one year.
  23. Or maybe…Friesen's the sinister puppet master already here.
  24. And that would make sense, this year, as we haven't extended FA contracts like we have in the past. This year, with the dispersal draft looming and the new CBA coming up, it's no surprise they're below the cap.
  25. Keep only a half-dozen players? Holy undervaluation of a CFL roster Batman
