  1. So far I've heard nothing that convinces me that what Miller calls "process" isn't being followed. The rest is fan board gossip, rumour and innuendo, typical for fan board I guess…and not totally unexpected, but still, a bit tabloid-y.
  2. It seems to me, with all the propagating of the de facts, that no matter who is named GM, there will be those who will insist he is pulling the strings, even he names himself… What would that be called? Self-puppetry? He can't win. No matter who is named what, and for whatever position, even if the hiring makes sense….they have already been labelled. The labellers have done what they didn't want Miller to do.
  3. Bit early for this……don't you think?
  4. This is why I feel both teams have to do their best to make it to the Game (it would be too bad if some ****** non-call were to eliminate one of them.) The game within the game for these two sets of coaches will hold my interest and the winner will be who crafted the better plan and who follows it to the letter. Last year the Argos…great game plan, this year? We'll see. having said all that… I can see the Argos being the mail this year and getting *******.
  5. Austin, Burris, Cornish….do you see a trend here? Toronto > Toronto Hamilton > Calgary Calgary > Calgary Sask. I don't think Calgary will let themselves be out-coached by Toronto again.
  6. Billy Pavlopoulos ~ Tim Hutchison ~ Brett Cameron ~ Lirim Hajrullahu I'd bring one or all of these guys back to training camp next year ahead of Sean Whyte. I don't trust the evaluation from our current crop of coaches on these guys. Regarding Whyte, his kicking performance doesn't match the arrogance he showed regarding the Bombers. Currently, it sure looks like he doesn't have to come to Winnipeg for his kicking career to die, he's doing that all by himself.
  7. I can see it now... When we would have the wind, a good QB coach would have had Hall turn and face the wind, throw up one his passes, whereby the wind would grab it fling it downfield to a wide open receiver. Everybody would be aghast at the sheer boldness of such a play. We could call it our Hall Mary pass play.
  8. Let's see..a defender makes contact on a receiver, preventing the receiver from catching the ball, in the end zone, makes no effort to look at the ball, all before the ball reaches the receiver, Yep…PI Sucks to be an Alouette fan right now. But make no mistake, Montreal had chances to put away the Ti-Cats and didn't. Who can they blame for that?
  9. While I didn't watch the game to see Nick Boyd specifically, I couldn't help but notice him, and was suitably impressed in his punting abilities. If he is a free agent, he has a very good chance to get a look see in the CFL, starting next year.
  10. He's thick at the hips and has tree trunks for legs and we'd lose sight of Etienne if he was standing behind him, but if you're talking about his kicking, while I didn't see all the game, there were factors including the wind and all the points Western scored that prevented a good look at him, but he does possess a good kickoff leg from what i saw. I didn't see any punts. Anybody else?
  11. We'll get a chance to see how hard Paul LaPolice is pushing for the gig in Ottawa by the amount/combination of the colours red and black in tomorrow's broadcast of the semi-finals on TSN. But maybe Paul has competition for the HC gig in Ottawa if the persistent, yet unfounded rumours, that the former HC in Edmonton is petitioning to have his name changed to Kavis Reedblack
  12. I've said it before about D Dickenson, he is not just another pretty face. To me, he's handled his challenges, be it at QB or coaching, with the mindset to succeed no matter what he is presented with. He strikes me as a guy who has the talent and the smarts to handle what he feels he is ready for. If he feels he is ready to be a HC, then he is certainly welcome on my team.
  13. Keep Muamba. Acquire a viable QB. Doable. Do it.
  14. It's obvious. It's a non-starter. (what we have already) We bloody well need a starting QB and if these guys we have in charge now want to make an impression, they better have a plan in place right now to get one. By any and all means. And there must be some player on our team that has Collaros's ph. number, right?
  15. Would that completion percentage and TD:INT ratio be as good if he had played more games though? They probably considered disqualifying R Ray because of his games vs. Wpg. 79/100 6 TDs 1 int.
  16. I'm having the hardest time finding any information on the memo about the league mandate on trades etc. All I can find is there is 'trade window' after the Grey Cup and the roster freeze date leading up to the Dispersal Draft. But nothing about hiring and firing now, leading up to the playoffs. Anybody?
  17. This is exactly why many of were upset, that a proven short-yardage QB, Goltz, was ignored in order for the Coach to prove a point, and ignore the obvious choice, in favour of the "I'm the HC -look at my power" choice, even after it was clearly evident, and even after many questioned why the switch wasn't being made, he still stuck to that stupid decision.
  18. I believe that's during Grey Cup week…not including the weeks up to then. They just don't want the attention of a hiring or firing detracting the most important week of the year. And as for the Bombers the 3-5 weeks covers hirings…not necessarily firings.
  19. Shawn Churchill is an unpolished interviewer? You realize he's been doing the sports for CTV Winnipeg since 2000 and has been their sports director since 2005. He isn't some rookie reporter. I didn't know who it was., but it doesn't matter to me. It sounded like a first take of an interview and came across as amateurish. At one point, he didn't even listen to the answer before he asked virtually the same question. Doing the sports and doing an interview are two different things and Mr Churchill didn't cut it…um…for me.
  20. ………....What's going on here?
  21. The CEO position isn't a pressing long term need. Wade Miller can do what has to be done and he can do that 'interimly' or not. As to the 3-5 week scenario Miller alluded to, I ask you, did he seem overly worried about the goings-on, or maybe that they have a time frame they are comfortable with? Which might mean…arrangements/hand-shakes because of that exact time frame. Curious, but on the hand….still curious.
  22. Or he could move close to home in Edmonton and join a team who has a good qb under contract.... But Brandon, how does that fit into our fan forum plans?
  23. Shawn Churchill ‏@ShawnChurchill 2m Blue bombers acting CEO Wade Miller says he has never tried to hire Chris Walby despite reports Wade Miller does an extended interview with an unpolished interviewer and at the 4:27 mark he denies "trying to hire Chris Walby." He also goes into hiring the GM, evaluating players and coaches. For example: Question….How different is this team going to look like on the field next year? Answer….You won't recognize it, it will be a different team, different attitude….. More here... http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=1038696#1038696
  24. Not so fast. Miller isn't stupid. He probably called Walby to "discuss potential options with the football club" to which Walby said straight off, "forget that, I'm making 150K a year dropping off Viagara and I get a pension." Arash gets wind of it, runs it thru the media, and to save face Miller says "I didn't offer him a job, we were just discussing things." This sounds like it's straight from the Arash Madani school of twitter spin.
