Toronto loves to mix their D and throw the extra guy off the edge. Hall, this week, saw this and was able to get rid of the ball. It still doesn't mean he wouldn't get hit...and he did.

I'll gulp when I say it, but I don't disagree with our decision for a FG at the end.

The only GM associated with Miller would be if that bus you say he's driving would be manufactured by GM.

Kelly was good for a play or two a game and doesn't have much of an all-around game. Hardly a cornerstone player that should stop the Bombers from looking at other prospects. Denmark's guaranteed himself a job somewhere next season, great receiver that can play every spot. Kelly's play, in this offence, was the only glow we had. We can't pretend he didn't have an impact, be it ever so humble. His future, as with all our guys, is to be determined. Combine that with the fact Sims-Walker was reputed to have been 'walking' through practices and I think you have an answer.
-
Ready or not? We still had Denmark and Edwards playing and you're not going to take Kelly out of the game with the way he has been playing, so... Then Kelly gets hurt and Sims-Walker gets his chance.

Toronto is fortunate to have left here with a win.

...Can't hear you, lalalalala......

I definitely say that was a blow to the head, a call that has been made over and over in recent weeks and for an official to not call this, when he is specifically charged with looking for plays like that, is just nuts.
-
Figures. You know 40...60.
-
Glad to hear you'll be one of them RG. Right? Should be an interesting game with our 'special' defensive game package we have planned for R. Ray. It'd better be special because Ray usually uses the Bombers to fix whatever problems he is having at the time.

That's a great quote from Trouba. You can already tell he's a keeper, somebody to build around. Great to see the young guys getting some serious ice time. Now as to face-boarding....

Doesn't matter to me. It's really no different than most years. You get the good teams and you get the bad teams. There are cycles. You know that. But it's still CFL football. It's still entertaining for me. Look at the drama you see with Hervey and Reed and the calling out of O-Linemen. Look at the emergence of Reilly as a legit QB, never mind a gumby character who bends and folds after every hit...and still gets up to throw again. Remarkable. Look at what K. Glenn has done to resurrect his career. B. Jones to start his. Cornish and his pursuit of records. I think fan support is still there and viewership is still high despite TSN's attempt at Rod-BLACK-outs. Have some wine iso or some brandy. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Reilly starts for Edmonton. (So does that "non-starter for the rest of the year" Rottier). Does this quote from an Edmonton fan sound familiar? "First time in my life I've ever said this... ...Edmonton's playing Calgary tonight, and I honestly don't care." Last week, Matt Nichols amped up his recovery from knee surgery to include some light jogging up and down the Commonwealth Stadium stairs. Juicy, but foolish: apparently Rennie Curran tweeted Cornish and said he would limit the damage done by Cornish. Cornish is riding a three-game streak with 100-plus rushing yards. Calgary's Kevin Glenn is 10-2 as a starter this year. ~~~~~~ Toronto @ Winnipeg - Sat. -Bombers will be rotating 4 DEs in their game Sat. when Michael McAdoo joins Peach, Griggs and Mainor. -Winnipeg will be looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since August 2011. They have failed in their last 10 attempts to produce a winning streak. -Winnipeg had been plagued by slow starts this season, but the Argos are currently experiencing the same thing. Toronto has trailed after the first quarter for four games in a row. Zen Master Tim Burke : "The thing we’ve tried to focus on in the last few weeks is just play it one play at a time, reading your keys one play at a time, performing your technique one play at a time," said Burke Friday after the Bombers’ pre-game walkthrough at Investors Group Field. "Don’t dwell on what happened previously in the game. Don’t think ahead about what could happen or what we need to do in the future. Just concentrate on that one play. "I guess we’re into Zen football."

Depends if they're your own or not.

I'm not sure myself, but the wording is : each club may protect a QB and ten additional import players, so I don't think we benefit by not naming a protected QB, unless of course, we give Ian Wild some reps in the last game and name him as our guy.
-
At what point does Troy Smith enter into the conversation? Is he the guy Montreal ultimately protects? and should we have more than a passing interest in this guy?
-
I think it's closer to half a decade no? Exactly, it's only been 5 years. It's not like the whole football scene has changed much in 5 years. ...well, except for in Winnipeg. As administrator: Edmonton Eskimos (GM) 2001-2004 As coach: Calgary Stampeders (HC) 2005-2007

We could provide Higgins with his own Blue and Gold review booth to watch film. That might lead to excessive fining of his own players or he might overturn his own decisions. We better rethink this.

Prediction: Who Will Be Our Leading Receiver?
Mr Dee replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm going to give him the benefit of a doubt on his practice habits, and trust he'll be going full speed from now on. -
but this is the major sticking point... There's still a chance they retain Walters and Burke which is just more of the same hiring the cheapest option and hoping for the best. The Bombers haven't shown any sort of changes at all except that Walters is more willing to get into trade talks than the last guy was. That's not a lot. Of course it is, we're all sitting here...waiting for this damned season to end, so that what many of us hope and want will come to fruition....the moving on from Burke, at the very least. What else will occur will move the level of anxiety up or down, depending on who's hired. For me, it all starts at the QB position. They mustn't wait too long there.

Most people only hum along while perusing the quotes, this way, you can actually sing, while wiling away the time. And I only try haiku after a good round of Sudoku.

oh? Tell me what they are cause to me it seems like business as usual here from a players perspective. We don't know who the GM will be, we don't know who will be coaching, there's still no established star veteran players here, all we've done is trade a veteran qb for a backup receiver and trade arguably our top defensive player for a backup offensive lineman. How soon we forget the firings and placement of personnel that is the first step in plugging the dyke. That sent a massive shockwave throughout the league...people took notice. And it seems you're talking about our player's perspectives I was answering about outside our club. Some of the moves you mentioned just don't happen at this time of year...that gets noticed as well. It's quite obvious changes are on the horizon, but I agree the biggest and boldest moves are yet to come, What will cause FAs to consider Winnipeg as a viable team? 1) Snagging a "big name" starting QB. 2) Naming our next GM 3) Announcing who our next coach will be. I think what you're confusing is showing other GMs that Winnipeg wants to do business and showing players. Cause if I was a player I'd still see a team without a GM or coach right now, with a history of losing records, a team that fires a lot of coaches causing lots of turmoil... There is a hell of a lot of work to do to show players around the league that things are changing and it starts with hiring someone at GM or coach or both who has the ability to convince people that things are stable. Well, of course we don't have a Coach or a GM right now. Everybody knows that. But players don't decide right now. Everybody knows that too. But what we have shown them is that the way we used to do things...are changing. We are looking for stability. And the second part of what you said is exactly what I listed, except, in my opinion, we'll be going after a QB right away, while Walters is still the acting GM (I doubt his title would change that early) 3 more games...then the overhaul begins....

I think the 1st steps have already been taken that shows players Wpg. means business going forward. The next step, dismissing those who need to be dismissed will also show how serious we are going forward. Finally, with the new GM in place, it will be his job to show the direction we want to go and his job will become easier, to a high degree, if the right QB is announced ASAP

C'mon, DeMarco is better than Goltz, except third down short yardage plays. He's Boltus bad in that regard.
