  1. I want to hear what Burke thinks about him first. But I'd value the Cookie Monster's opinion more.
  2. After game thoughts on a Sat. night: I'd seriously like to know how Brody McKnight is doing. As in move two players out and move one in. New guy Jones...a breath of fresh air. And Knapp looks like someone we can work with. We lead the league in a brand new category...almost interceptions. KR/RB Bradley Randle. Please be ready to play. Anybody cast adrift this week? If you get my meaning. I originally had two impressions of Akeem Foster's first game...but I dropped them both. The overall performance of our receivers was generally good. Greg Peach..2 sacks. I don't know where the spirit came from but the effort in this game by the Bombers was phenomenal. This was an exciting football game. Too bad for us for the result.
  3. Exactly. I'd like him to see that clip again too. Washington's even leaning back on that play too.
  4. Turnovers were even. The game was even. We got out coached is the end result. They could stop us in the second half and we were close...but again couldn't pull it off. Even DeAngelis....35 yard FG? couldn't even put it through for a single? Maybe we should have punted it through. Exasperating.
  5. No mention of a flukey, third down tipped ball that miraculously falls into an opponent's hands...further upfield? What were the Football Gods thinking then?
  6. So near the top of the league in sacks from the dline and a MLB near the top of the league in tackles isn't.........these guys must have no ceiling to their awesomeness. So here you argue for the MLB being near the top of the league in tackles and on the other thread you say he's a sieve. Which is it?
  7. Oh, so only ay MLB then?
  8. So Muamba is a complete sieve and the opponents had no influence on their own successful plays. That means the opponents erred a lot in their assignments whenever Henoc managed to get involved. Question. How many of the other teams, including Ottawa, would grab Henoc if they could?
  9. They are not mutually exclusive. Trace what Burke does and at the end of your drawing you will have a conclusion that Burke shares the blame...heavily. Just go back to what I asked, is he or isn't he responsible for the personnel who are starting? We have seen more personnel turnover in the last month under our Interim GM than Mack made in his 3 years. So I ask again, who is responsible the personnel on the field and why aren't they making plays when the opportunity hits them right in the hands. You want to talk personnel, then lay the page out. This thread is on Burke and if you have decided he shares no blame..then say so.

  11. Yes, Buck is gone. What have we learned that we wouldn't have if he was still here? That Goltz won't be staying on. That Hall can move the ball well, but isn't the long term answer. Laying the blame on Burke is for the blame that needs to be laid on Burke...nothing more.

    OT

Hall moved the ball, Elliott moved the ball. Both could make it happen. Despite their respective OCs Both have problems with turnovers, but both, at least give us a chance to win and provide exciting football. Something that is woefully missing around here. Bellefeuille is doing better than Crowton, if only because he understands English (CFL football) ..but there is no way....no way at all, I want this present coaching staff going forward.
  13. The decision to kneel at the half is totally who Burke is. And that decision, at this time, in the overall picture of where the Bombers psyche is right now, was exactly what we didn't need. How many jaws dropped when the return team hit the field? How many more jaws dropped when we saw we were kneeling? There was a chance to win. 2 plays, maybe three. I don't care who you have at QB, you go for it. You play to win. You play to win.
  14. Jones and Knapp? Big time passing grades, even though Knapp faltered at the end. They played and contested and gave us a chance to win. What more can you ask after TWO practices?

    OT

He's better than what we had. If he's not using Crowton's stuff, then there's no way the O can be very deep right now. He is better. Not long term please, but better. That is, with Hall at QB. We're running a better variety of plays (though limited). Our O is putrid and limited, especially with two new starting tackles and a new guard. But c'mon, who would have possibly thought we'd be moving the ball as well as we did in the opening of the game? First downs, rushing TD, passing TD and generally a CFL offence. The difference between what Hall brought us and what Goltz has shown is like 1st and 3rd downs. Hall may not be the long term answer, but he can stick around. Goltz? Don't see how he can stick around in any capacity. I'd like to see what we have in Boltus and especially Brown. We ain't got no more time for this year...let's see what we have in the pen.
  16. I have no issues with the defence at all. They made plays all night long and were forcing FGs. and stopping runs. Receivers were forced to make great catches. How is that on the secondary? Reilly threw the ball with authority into areas where only the receiver could get it. Great QB, great throws. I didn't like the one corner blitz we ran and the number of drops by the D was deflating. We lost the game on at least two dropped ints. and that deflection at the end of the game was a big time fluky kick in the gonads and just a exclamation point on the kind of year we're having. I hope we can safety say, that JJ is our man at safety....please.
  17. B-feated...once more.
  18. My word of the day (befuddled) aptly describes the look on Burke's face...many times tonight.
  19. Word of the day on Friday Night Football - befuddle. As in, which entity is going to be affected, the Edm. O or the Bomber D? Edmonton, who had a good game plan that worked for at least 2 quarters will probably have another twist or two. But I'm pretty confident that our D plan will be ready this time. With proper execution a must, and no penalties, I think the crowd noise can make a difference for us. I'm not concerned with the changes we made on D because it will be a revolving mixture of players that Edm won't always be able to recognize. And I like Jovon at safety. If this works well, how do we make the switch back? Notice I didn't use the word befuddle for our O...that, I think, is self-explanatory.
  20. My hope here is that one of these tackles is a really good run blocker. And further to that, why can't we have Volny running in there more?
  21. Call me a masochist, no - don't, but I'm anxious to see the two new guys at tackle. I'm curious as to which area the mighty O is leaning, running the ball or passing. I think Max Hall can direct this game. He's smart, and I believe we can move the ball. Kelly and Foster should provide interesting options for Hall. Can he get them the ball? The changes on D are interesting, and maybe good, and the question remains...did the OC and his helper figure out a good game plan this time?
  22. It's not the GIF that counts...it's the thought.
  23. And I'm sure he will be. His name and the ensuing possible poor result...not a good combo.
  24. C'mon, what could be better than this? Guessing who our starting QB is, then second-guessing the choice. Listening to the Coach spewing out lead lined lines on player performances. Watching the lead legged lines on offence as they tumble and wave at sack happy passers-by. Guessing which long legged layman will last. Reading in the tabbies week after week about our weak after weak. Roster juggling from roster to injury to short term to long term and back again. Heated dialogues enough to light a fire, then a fire and more fires. Then hires, more hires, but never enough root beer. Rumours and rumours about rumours and rumours and really only one get debucked. The CFL's best, absolute best defence...for 2 weeks. The CFL's worst, absolute worst offence...for 2 many weeks. And you've witnessed these goings-on for over 11 weeks with 7 more to come. Seven more that could bring even more excitement, (eyes closed or open) The season can't possibly end now, because then, we'd have to talk about it...for seven months.
  25. Well, you could see that move coming. They are on the cusp.
