  1. Tidbits: -BL Mitchell gets the start, then Drew Tate, then Mr Glenn. -Better game plan for BLM because of more prep. time or just more running by Cornish who's averaging over 100 yds. per game. -Ti-Cats have allowed a league leading 41 sacks against so far. -Will CJ Gable, be able, to pirouette his way around Calgary defenders? Of interest to Bomber fans...Marcellus Bowman is starting on ST tonight. -Burris needs just 217 passing yds. to pass 50,000 yds. in his career. This is likely to happen tonight...in Calgary. -Burris still keeps a permanent home in Calgary. His wife and two sons spend the winter in Calgary so the boys can go to school there. -Only Stanley Bryant and rookie centre Brett Jones have started every game for the Horsemen this season. -The Stamps have won three in a row and are undefeated at home this season at 4-0.
  2. I don't know if I would say that. (cause I don't know what you said)
  3. So, according to several contributions, Goltz is not good, Hall is not good, Boltus is just a filler and bad, bad describes Levi Brown. All in a thread of Kyle Walters. The best thing....honestly? No talk of Buck starting the next game.
  4. The fact that Burke can't identify that he did very similar 'vilifying' himself tells me a lot. Burke's 'heat of the moment' spouting is not as calculated as Hervey's but is still worthy of a 'shudder'. I like Rich's filter comment. (speak first, too fast = oops) Maybe it's time for Coach Burke to change that filter or at least get it washed.
  5. Are you asking? We played Montreal in the first two games and I can only find one JJ fumble.
  6. No love for Jovon on punt returns it seems. Jovon currently sits smack dab in the middle of the pack in punt returns in the league. An 8.4 avg. Over a full yard less than Aaron Woods @ 9.5 Over a full yard more than Chad Owens @ 7.1 I don't agree he has ball security issues as he has demonstrated year after year of having capable hands. For my eyes, Jovon picks his spots, if it's open he'll go, if not he does go down. Last game when he struggled to get extra yards, the ball was stripped....not a good thing, but really, that is rare. I too, would like to see Washington back there accepting punts, but don't forget, last year, it was Washington who had trouble fielding punts and was removed from that duty. He seems fine on kickoff returns, however. Woods was going to be the guy, but he can't do much when he's injured.
  7. Three games vs Regina per year... What do we call the third game? This is where it gets touchy. With and unbalanced schedule, we would only play Sask 3 times every two years. For example, one year we play Cal Sask 3 times, the next year BC Edm 3 times or something to that effect.
  8. Where did you hear that? I've heard the opposite. I've heard the same...no compensation.
  9. So we get this: 2 divisions one 5 team division West one 4 team division East Each west team plays the each east team twice (home and away) = 8 games Each west team plays the each west team 2 times plus two teams an extra time = 4x2 = 8 + 2 = 10 games for a total of 18 Each east team plays each west team 2 times = 10 games Each east team play each east team 2 times plus two teams twice = 3x2= 6 + 2 =8 games The East would then alternate the teams that they didn't play 3 times in the 1st instance. It would take 3 years to even out the amount each team played each other 3 times. Have I got that right?
  10. Still think we should be alone, in the Central division.
  11. Our offence should have been getting warning points all season long.
  12. I agree, we have to change the name of the thread.
  13. Just being Rottier is good enough.
  14. Somewhere, Cory Watson is breathing a sigh of relief. Why Kelowna....what a thing to say! Dan West is missing practice.....he who injures team mates.
  15. There is no argument to be made here. You can interpret the information given any way you choose, that's why it's there. It's just that when posters just submit 12 yards in the 1st half as the whole story, without context, it's irritating. Which side did you want me to tell it from?
  16. How do we get how awful stats in one half? Follow the bouncing ball...it's quite easy to see. 1st quarter 1st play of the game is a completion for a 1st down, but wait, an offside takes that away. Then a running play, then a good play by the DB for an int. Sask. has the ball for the next 5 minutes and kick a FG. Then Will Ford has the nerve to take away more Wpg. possession time with that kickoff return TD. Sask has the ball for 3 more mins. We get an int and poss. for a 1 min before Edwards drops that catch. Result ...punt Sask has the ball the rest of the quarter. Total possession time for Wpg.....less than 2 mins. 2nd quarter After Sask FG we get the ball for a minute and a half before Kohlert drops a first down catch We punt, then hold Sask and they punt, whereby JJ is stripped of the ball. Result no possession. Sask FG We get the ball...1 yard run, then a sack...punt 1 min poss. Trade punts Poss. Wpg....less than a min. Wpg. poss 2 runs, then punt. We punt, get a fumble, one sack, one incomplete pass. Wpg FG Sask uses up 2 min and get a FG. Total poss time Wpg.....just over 5 and a half minutes Poss first half....under 8 minutes And another reason why stats don't always tell the whole story.
  17. Simeon Rottier is back on the Edmonton Eskimos' roster after a meeting Tuesday with general manager Ed Hervey, who was informed by the CFL his public criticism of the offensive lineman breached the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=431550
  18. There you go.
  19. No,....you don't get it.
  20. Dear Darian Durant What you witnessed 1st hand on Sunday is something we've had to put up with for the last several years. Missed blocks by O-Line, poor positioning by O-Line, and defenders just beating the O-Line. How'd you like getting rushed so much you can't follow through on the play? How'd you like just throwing the ball away to prevent a sack, or running because you have to? Did getting knocked down bother you the 1st time, the 2nd, the 3rd.....? How come your running back isn't helping you out? Where are those damn receivers when you need them? Are you thinking everybody forgot how to block all of a sudden? That frigging Cortez, did he forget how to co-ordinate? Your quarterbacking skills are now in question. Welcome to our lives. Signed, Alex Brink Buck Pierce Max Hall Joey Elliott Justin Goltz
  21. I don't know anybody who is saying that Goltz is the answer. But finally...we have a chance to make the evaluation to keep...or to pass. He's not going to get Elliott-like numbers, for two reasons: He's tightly managed and he's not Elliott (who ignored the 1st reason)
  22. Couldn't believe he said that on the radio, and right after he said he doesn't want to get fined for talking about refs. Heard of tampering? Yes, that crossed my mind. I have to believe this was somewhere in their talks, either when they were trying to get him to re-sign or at a point at the actual trade but just before the confirmation/finalization. At this point it's only tempering. Phew, i knew we were in the clear.
  23. Also, Burke said that Woodson is a free agent and he told him that they would be pursuing him again.
  24. And if your team is up by __ points at the half, what then? If the starting QB has under 50 yards passing, I'd still pull him, because he'd be playing badly. The score isn't always a good indicator of how well the QB is playing. This game is a perfect example of why you shouldn't do that automatically. Both Gotlz and Durant had rough goings out there in the 1st half. Should both have been pulled? The 1st half stats were not owned by Goltz, therefore why would he pay for it? Mistakes were made and not only by Goltz.
