It isn't his fault it got leaked, it's his his timing to fire him now.
He could have recommended they come up with a list of names to replace Mack...just not now, while we're technically still in it.
A football man would know this.
Couldn't he wait to meet with the board at least?
Buchko doesn't get blamed for everything in my books, but he's like a new graduate form the military academy and he's running our frigging ship!
I believe this is the result of hiring a "non-football" guy to be in charge of running a football team.
Not only the timing of this recommendation, but totally how it was handled.
His hiring is totally questionable.
Maybe next week, Buchko will read something on Twitter about his status.
OK, so now we have pay a GM to not show up next year...for starters.
Then we have the entire coaching staff now on hold, wondering what the H is going on with the team they "might" have employment with.
Study game film, prepare the next game plan (sneak in time for a quick resume) and double check your roster to see if you have recently acquired Chris Leak by any chance.
But it's not really that, it's the next move that might be in the works.
Nobody saying he's going to sabotage anything, but as of today...he owes the Bombers nothing of value that he has knowledge of.
This leak and 'impending' firing is bullfrog.
Do it....or don't do it, but to drag it out is s_t_u_p_i_d.
Listen, I don't know what's in the works as far as scouting NFL cuts and talking with potential neg. list personnel but I would suspect there is some on-going activity and there might even be some on-going trade talks.
Now what?
Mack should have been talked to and these things figured out before this info. came out.
